Review on MyRo.tk

been playing Official Ragnarok Servers since 2003.
Ive played in a lot of other private servers as well TrinityRO, AbyssRO, FunRO, DarkRO, idealRO to name a few
Im more into the Economics Section of the Game. not such on the PK thingee.
I see RO as a larger more interactive type of "Chatroom" (who hasnt been to a chatroom?)
by far in my interserver travelling, MyRO.tk (i have to stress the .tk cuz there are other myro spinoffs) proved to be the best by far (so far...)

been playing at the server since early 2008 and have experienced a lot. This server has been up since late 2006 and from what ive heard has never had a major rollback, nor a closure, nor a swipe.



Newbie Training: They have lots of guides in their Forums. from character build to character gears to quests. Who would have guessed they even have a newbie guide.  MyRO has this newbie guide which you can follow to get easy levels and at the same time get you familiarized with the basic commands you can use such as @load and @alootid <item>, it also tells you what to specifically loot in order to earn starting zenny. The initial spawn point is a place they call "Mall of Asia" where lots of NPC items are available. After 2-3 hours of newbie training you could already have a Maxed out level transcendent character (about 68 job) who can instantly go duel other people or enter PVP and even have the chance to win. (MyRO is balanced in a way that not 1 single character can be called a GOD or nonkillable even with Full Donate Gears). The guide could be improved with a more defined MAP because initially the Mall of Asia can be a lot confusing, a lot of characters walking around, a lot of NPC, not to say the Map is quite large. MyRO has buff, healer, job change NPCs which are far apart. But as the guide goes leveling and gaining zen is quite easy.

Item Hunting: though the exp rate is high and common loot drop rate is high too, there are some items which are given lower chance to drop. such as boss cards and some mini boss cards and some common monster cards, some cool gear also. This makes hunting better gears than NPCs a challenge. Its like all the basic stuff you need are near free how you improve your character is the thing for you to do next. NPC warpers are available, but not all maps are accessible via NPC. some maps you have to walk. Some items take like forever to drop.

Zen Generation (Economy): Well the guides also give you means on how to earn zennies. The upgrading is crazy, its near safe till +8 but you never know if itll reach +9 what more for +10, but sometimes i just set the upgrade to 10 and vigorously hit the 2 enters. luckily i get +10s this way. The economy is real good as the prices fluctuate. its like the supply and demand thing i studied in college really works. Donate items can be bought via hard earned zenny as second hand items from donors. How do i get zenny? hmm i did like berryhunting, gold hunting, buy n sell, upgrades and item hunting. there are players who make slims and foods as their way to cope with the demand for PODs or Proof of Donations which the Admin of the server gives to people who donate to the server. But always have your wits with you when at the Vend town. Dont be too mesmerized by the lot of people with pubs as some unscrupulous bastard might enter your pub and cheat you of your items. Yes scammers are on the loose but the GM team is almost always online to help you they are reachable via @request. and a dedicated report link is ready to accept your reports. Well service may be slow and when i got scammed before i didnt get the items back (its my fault) but they got the culprit.

Events: Hmm. GMs are almost always online. They host events mornings, noons afternoons and nights. WAR events most of the time and almost the same people join all the time and almost the same people win. i dunno where the 1k other people are but maybe they might be really that good. Woe is enthralling. the 1 hour spent in War of the Emperium SE II is really good. Lotsa guilds lotsa people to kill. But there are some really evil people who scam salaries. the Admin is really pissed with these guild salary scam scum, its like in vend town a scammer scams only one person at a time but in guild salary scam he scams 76 people at 1 time. well some get away with it but most get their whole account banned. They also have this Semi Reality Event called Player on Focus which spans about 2-3 weeks where players post IRL images of them doing quests. They also have this No1PK thingee where the PK King is challenged. kinda like the Afro Samurai "No1 Uber cool headgear". But still i have yet to win an event. the prizes are like berries and a megaphone. i can only join the Hide n see, QnA and Bring me cuz the other events like dice and Papper Scissors stones are pfffff and im no good in PK so war is not an option.

Donates: Well me being a filipino can say its Expensive but they can be attained with hard work. International players (who dont speak filipino) say its the same as in comparison to other servers. These international players play for the PVP and the lot of active PVP players. still.... Expensive!!! No wings (Yehey) not much customed items (yehey).

Players: 1.5k around woe time. Used to be 2.5k. maybe they moved due to the Renewal jobs. MyRO still is trans job oriented, Admin sez hell add Renewal Jobs when they are Final and Stable. Filipino and English speaking. Welcoming but there are still players who are a nuisance. Trash talking, scamming and botting will always be a part of any server. But the GM Team is capable of dealing with such. bot training and harvesting and packet editors0 is not allowed (bot vending is allowed though). Wish they have spam control and Packet Editor blocking. Over all the community is friendly and welcoming. umm did i say every map has different groups of people.

GM Team: The team is led by Admin (who does not play in the server and is a well known player in pRO) he is real strict and is known to cuss in PM. Buttercup, Kisses, Mocha, Hershey, Candy and Cherry are Event GMs. they are welcoming to questions and are usually seen in towns. Sgt Rave the Police whos really a kick donkey idiot. They got their own personalities (issues ^^) but they are welcoming and friendly and open (except for Sgt Rave whos always on exall prolly hunting some bot or scammer). The Forum mods are ok too, some are spammers in their own right, but they leave no post un turned.

From what ive heard:
There are people who once served MyRO as GMs or scripters or what have you. Learned the ropes of the server.
Then made their own servers. copying about 75% of myro.
Thus making MyRo spinoffs.
Some of them have their servers posted in RMS too...

as for those caught using the third party programs
they get banned if enough evidence is gathered.
ive seen a vid of a GM recording an exploit being done. following day the players account got banned. donates, pods and all.

but it would be better if when they do use such programs they get instantly reprimanded by a script.

If so, then this server sucks bawls(reference). Used to be really fun, nice people about 50 pop all the time and 100+ in peak, then the population spiked, the Admin dissapeared, and gMs became abusive and rules were not enforced. It was anarchy. After a few months the admin returned, fired the abusive gms, cleaned up the server, then raped what the server had started out as. The no-nerf, no-custom, no-donate server turned into a a piece of crap with imba donates, un needed nerfs, stupid changes, poor staff selection and very boring pvp action(The kind where everyone huddles together and no one attacks other players).

yes it has an item mall as most servers with donations have.

I mean MyRo isn't even creative.. It's rather lame imho.

If MyRo server name was taken then get something new :/

the Name MyRO was used maybe because its easy to remember
else other servers wouldnt use it if it were as lame as you say it is.
Its better than having a mouthful of a name.

Why? cuz thats the only thing you hafta do most of the time
look cool. so why not give the donors the chance to look better
dont you spend money to look good?
or are you just content with hand me downs?
