I've been in this server ever since I got my internet connection, probably 6 or 7 years now.

Stability [5/10]
Server crashes randomly but not that much. You'll also experience lag no matter what part of the universe you came from.
Also when the live server crashes, takes either a day or half a day til the it is fixed due to the server having only 1 Administrator and isn't that much active.

Availability [8/10]
Gave it an 8 for being 24/7 online except when the server crashes wherein you'll need to really wait a while.

Community Friendliness [8/10]
Well I gave it an 8 due to some guilds are accepting newbies and trying to help them gain items and teaching them how to stand on their own. Well, unluckily, as any other Private PK Servers. Lots of trash-talkers but some will also train with you to get good builds and et cetera, therefore building up friends and camaraderie.

Community Friendliness(Staffs) [6/10]
I can only count the friendly staffs.  Nothing much to say about it so moving on..

Availability of the Staff [4/10]
Very, very poor. Staffs tend to PvP a lot, fool around, troll around with their own circle of friends.

Professionalism of Staff [4/10]
Why so? Some of them are very immature. Yes, the admin is indeed very strict with staffs and removes them/bans them for abusing their powers but my comment stands. They're too immature.
Only a number of them tend to do their work seriously.

Economy [9/10]
Today's economy is very, very easy to cope up with. Items prices weren't cut by half, it's like they've been cut 9 or 10 times of their original price. Hence, with a little work and farm. Newbies are sure to cope up with old and veteran players.

Donation [10/10]
Why did I gave it a 10/10? Because you can't donate and just cope up with the economy. "Hey! Isn't that bad?" No. Since this means you'll need to pump up yourself and do some work!
Donations are mostly hats, a sword named Banryu which is no different to the default weapon used by all other knights (blade) only less 1 slot, Enriched Elu, Mount tickets (means no more universal rental npc! Yey!), and more hats!

Guild Competition [6.5/10]
Why did I give it a low rating, well, a year ago there were more competitive guilds, and now, most of guilds are breaker guilds so they don't defend so no fun at all. There are still few guilds that defend though. Like 7 or 8 guilds.

Website [3/10]
Dull, dead, black, and blank spaces. Well I heard one of the staffs which is a close friend that they're testing the new website but until then. The main website is dull and dead..

Customs [8/10]
Well I didn't really like hats that are really overly rated. Like Hyourinmaru hat from Bleach. This game only has a few custom of those namely the Naruto Head protector, Kage hat, Traveler Hat some costume hat.

This game has custom jobs though Soul Linkers and Taekwon(correct me if I'm wrong) was removed. They were changed to Padawan, Sith and Jedi following the game's theme "Star Wars"

Balance [7/10]
Well as all people are bound to make mistakes, this server has also a few glitch and bugs but not that harmless to gameplay. Such as donation hats being droppable(bug) which the staffs said it shouldn't.(well only some thought) Some new armors having too high defense.

Overall 78.5 out of 120 (too lazy to make a percentage calculation)
The server itself  isn't that bad if those lag issues and server crashes are to be attended ASAP also if the staffs they hire are truly capable or qualified to do their tasks the server should probably be something worth a try.

Can you tell us more about the feature?  IIRC I think this server is low-rate?   

It's because this server contacted me years ago asking me to delist any listing created for this server (unless they create it, which I should be able to tell) and I am keeping this promise until now.  So this server doesn't have a listing if you wonder why.  I wonder why they don't want a listing, at the time I could only think either they are one of the bigger server (used to? is it still?) and don't wanna be targeted by Gravity.  Or they have a not so nice community and afraid review will leave a bad reputation?  any idea on this?

That decision was decided by a former GM to be delisted in RMS because he wants this server to be independent AFAIK. it used to be a big sever but as time passes, being independent is not doing good. This server is high rate but does not spoil players to have an easy game like other high rates and Lastly, this server give chances to newbies by questing not by donation.

The server itself comes with Force (High Rate) and Pie (Low Rate).

We respect the Founder of DarkRO to not be listed in RMS.

The server itself features Padawan, Sith and Jedi in Force but doesn't have Star Gladiator and Soul Linker.

As to this, Staff's weren't picked and paid to do their job. It was volunteer work for all of us. So it's understandable that we actually play the server we volunteer for. Most staff have peers, but doesn't mean they aren't available to do their job. This is mostly what player needs is restricted to a higher power within the staff.

Server runs a eAthena Client which died out mostly. There was 3 Admins beforehand but all has moved on from the game aside from Matias. Admin has his own life as well but tries to balance it out =P. He doesn't live off from donations.

Only Support and Order and Force Events receive training. But like all cases if you're given power, there'd be tendencies you'd abuse it. Lots of similar issues. We aren't robots either.

Well, in my own opinion, the world isn't so nice either. So you rarely find a community that'll be that nice to you or they're just nice in the beginning and tend to change after a while.
As for bad reputations, that I don't know. The game itself still keeps me interested even though it has been almost a decade of playing it.

Yes, DarkRO used to had a really big community way back, also had a big number of bots but well, the harmony already did get rid of that. Maybe it's just that people already find better servers or better games to play with.

About bad reputation? I don't think so. But funny if they'd be scared of bad reviews since that may help in improving the server and that'll give or say what the people likes/dislike about the server.

Anyway, this isn't a server report. Given that, I hope no one else gets offended by my review though I do plan on changing some of it but I'm really really lazy atm.

@Mika - Yes, it is me Kaskade. I hope you're not upset by my review but this is my own personal feedback at what I see and have observed within those years.

I love how there´s suddenly drama over things. Mika, hold your horses and chill, you're always so rude . We're all volunteers, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't neglect specific rules of formality.
We're guests on these forums, and should show some good manners; especially when we're trying to convince players to play on our server.

In all seriousness, there were a bunch of players trying to create a server page for Dark-RO as I recall. There are a few reasons why the former administrator chose not to use the advertisement on Ratemyserver. The current Administrator respects his choice, and does not want to use Ratemyservers advertisement as of yet.

Just because they volunteered, it doesn't mean that they are obliged to half-donkey their work or leave for a long period of time after two days of being hired. Though I'm not implying that they should dedicate all their time to working, but simply that they should have a sense of responsibility when it comes to these things.

Check the criteria before that. He separated staff from general community for clarity's sake.

Even with all your branch's training, a bunch of them turns into arseholes sooner or later. Training may help a wee bit, but their attitude mostly relies on their ethics.

When I was still in the Development Team, I had the chance to peek at the new website, which was more than a year ago if I recall. I'm pretty sure that it's long due for a reveal. Then again, with the severe lack of designers and other members of the dev team, it is understandable why it's still not up yet.

  nice post and agreed all of it and hit the mark.

The server itself is dying, no exciting new events to be held (or atleast 1 for week or 2?), GM's are not doing the task has been given to them mostly you find them pk'ing using Staff chars going in rage. mostly mika do this quite often (no flame sissy respect this forum and i say respect REALTALK).
