BlackoutRO Review

I've been playing BlackoutRO for 3 years, and have recently stopped. Below is all of the information I've gathered on why the server blows.

Here is the (big) list of cons:

1. The admin is 15, doesn't know how to properly run a server, and leaves it up to his "trusty" GMs to do the job for him.

2. The admin makes around $3,000+ a month from donations alone, yet it appears that he only spends a fraction of that on the actual hosting. The server lags 24/7, especially during WoE.

3. The economy is terrible. The server has already went through 3 wipes.

4. Practically impossible to start and decently PVP because unless you donate $100+ you will literally get crushed by other players.

5. There has been over 5 methods of duplication found on this server, resulting in an entire server wipe. The admin doesn't seem to really care about this issue.

6. Corrupt GMs, I will not mention who. Countless players have been banned because of the stupidest reasons. 2 of my friends got banned trying to report somebody who had an Angra Manyu (impossible to get on this server, other than @item from a GM).

7. Hidden donations? Some players have donated in excess of $2,000 and received a Fallen Bishop Hibram card (Not available in any way). This item is not actually on the donation list either.

8. Many players (friends of GMs) have been caught with illegitimate items, and haven't even received a ban. The first group that comes to mind is an infamous PVP group known as the "brodas" who have connections with pretty much ever single GM on the server, including the server owner. It appears as no matter what these players do or how the act, they do not receive any kind of punishment.

I'm sure there are some other reasons as well, but these are all that come to mind at the moment.

Pros:

1. PVP community. I'm not sure if it's just the server or my general liking of PVP, but the PVP community isn't that bad.

2. Not really hard to make friends. Although if you're starting off, don't expect to go into PVP and befriend everybody.

Having said that, if anyone really did donate $2000.00 to a server like BlackoutRO...really needs a life.  Like, seriously.

I'm going to guess that you and your fellow friend just got banned from the server or something. If you've been playing for 3 years and you only found out what a trash-server it was/is now, I'm sure something must have happened on your end that you're not sharing with us. I mean, I don't even need to play to know that it's a crappy server. What's the administrator's name?

Actually I have not. And to answer for MrPeace [whom I do not know] I am going to assume that, like me, he finally just got fed up with the recent happenings. I can only tolerate so much, but toleration is key in bRO. And I just ran out.

Ah, I see. Then I must say, MrPeace has amazing tolerance (three years). Well, there are MANY better servers out there, trust me.

It's just the occurrences over the past couple of months that have really messed with the server. Before that it was fine.

Please, watch your tongue. Who do you think you are, some police officer around these parts of the internet? It's RMS, if you want to have a say where people will actually adhere to, go back to your forums and "tell people to watch their tongue there". The door is right there.

Talent != Maturity/Wisdom.

No point being the greatest programmer in the world if your sense of decency and common sense is no better than a turtle or a rat (I'm not directing this to anyone, I'm making a point).
No amount of 1337 skills is going to give you maturity and wisdom but time itself.
