How I came to Atherea RO

Atherea RO was first introduced to me when I posted in the Server Seeking part of the forums. I wanted to find a newly made lowrate server. Good thing is Atherea was about weeks old by then when someone replied to my post. The rates and its Information was just right for what I was looking for. So there I downloaded it and started playing it.

Getting Started in Atherea

Most of the time, from the different servers I have been. There will always be an NPC which will give you your newbie pack. And mostly I will then just skip the training grounds. But when I first started. There was no NPC which would give it directly. So I had to enter the training grounds to receive the basic potions, gears etc. Feels like the typical RO.

About the Community

For me, as a person who came mostly from midrate servers. Playing in a lowrate server is somewhat very different. Quests which have been ignored in midrate servers were very useful in lowrates. So my 1st question to myself by then. WHERE DO I LEVEL MYSLEF? So I used the #main chat to ask. Good thing is there were lot of replies. The community itself replied and helped in discussing where to level. I wondered why the population of Atherea is small. But I just discovered that most of the players playing were at the opposite part of the world where I am. So Basically Atherea has people from all parts of the world. From a week old in Atherea I haven't encountered people with bad attitudes which show it on #main and I hope I don't see ones in the future. The people are not that selfish, some will help you especially if they know that you are new to the server. They would help you in things for you to be stable and can now support yourself. So the community is great from my view.

The GM's

The GM's are okay from what I can see so far. Their interaction towards the community is just okay. They asks questions or make polls in the forums if they are planning to do something to the server. They are open minded to the views and opinions of the community. Haven't seen any mischievous doings of the GM's so far. And I hope not to see or hear ones. But I seldom see one. Maybe because the time of the GM's are just not convenient for my time. I'm asian by the way. And I think most of the GM's are from europe and america. So I think that might be the problem why I seldom see one. But it's still fine with me as long as if I have a complain or need help I would receive a reply in a day or two.

The Economy

The economy. There are a few vends in the market. And I think the prices are just right for a lowrate server. But I do hope more vends would pop up in the future. Buying and selling things is very scarce. But still I think maybe because of the time zone. coz usually when I play there are only about 40+ players online. While sometimes at night time the population reaches 80+. with vends of only 5-8 chars. So i think my time is at the disadvantage.

PVP, WOE, BG

Currently you seldom see people in pvp arenas. BG hasn't been adjusted yet. And woe i think has not been implemented. But the server is still young so I think those things are not the focus of the people yet. But I have seen guilds getting ready for WOE. recruitment here and there. Farming for supplies and gears. So I hope in the next days or weeks PVP, BG and WOE would be very active.

My Thoughts about Atherea

Atherea is a great server. well balanced. The donations are not OP.  And I think Atherea is a very promising server. Although it is still very young. I hope that it would not go down the drain like other young servers. But so far as I can see from the server. It would still boom and rise. And overall Good job to the team behind this server, and Thanks for the person who introduced this server to me.
