Hello, ;) I am a vet iro player, about 2 years and im trying to find a great private server for me and my group of 6 family and friends. I am very new to the private server scene and am trying to find a great free server that suits us best and am trying to avoid testing 10+ servers with no luck.
What we are looking for in order of importance:
is a free server that is dedicated and know will be up and running for many years, as we plan to be playing consistently and for a long period of time.
Since we plan on playing for a while we want a low rate, balanced class, server in which the people in it are not all high level and have the best equips already so we can lvl when we are low lvl with ppl, and one that is not corrupt and has the GM's hand out uber goodies to thier friends only or having overpowering donators.
A large population in the server is also very important to us, at the very least like 300+. We love to chat and have parties with other people, see a variety of unique builds and we like to help others out. PVP is something we highly enjoy taking part in as well.
Out of all ive researched these seem to be the best choices, now i need more info to decide upon the final ones.
What is it that sets them apart? Why would i choose one over the other?
QRO (quality ragnarok online) Info: Freya
LR : 5x 5x 3x, been open about 2.5 years, Averages 700+ ppl online,
Cons: cannot use dead branch anywhere u want, heard recently there are bugs with some skills.
is it a big problem that it uses freya? does that mean they are dead for new content?
EuphRO Info: EAthena
LR : 3x/3x/2x, averages 600+ ppl online, more iro-like, no healer, plat skills etc. custom auras <3
Cons: been reading it was corrupt or something and shut down, but now its new and ok now?
EvoRO Info: Athena
LR : 3x/3x/2x, averages 500 ppl online, similar to EuphRo, bloody dead branch
Cons: many bad reviews on site
I have also researched many others
Opinions on these servers and suggestions even for other servers reasoning why are greatly welcomed and appreciated. thank you and we hope to play with you soon :-)

thank you for telling me about roforever, when i read about it, it seems great. unfortunately when i checked the online ppl there was only 35. we need at least 300 as we always love to meet new ppl. thank you anyways :-)
i tried, yea we need more people >.< dont forget about us^^ o i have heard good things about evoRO look for that on RMS
xilero is a terrible server. they never update anything and expect you to donate to compete. players seem to like it because its really easy and theres no challenge at all, apart from getting donation items, which make all the old stuff obselete. also they are an athena server these days i believe.
thank both of you for the information, that made my decision against xilero, specially after readin thier forums and see the kind of donated items they get XD. they are running freya tho unless they forgot to update thier site or something, http://www.xilero.net/servers.php
Ill update the first post accordingly. I still kinda think a pk server would be fun since we all love pvp, but i would be worried about the balance of the characters and of the choas, as my GF wouldnt have to much fun getting owned every 2 seconds while lvling.
senshiminako thanks for the info, now i just need to figure out what sets euph and evo apart and qro now. evo kinda had many bad reviews from people tho.
i read a bit more on ro forever and i gotta say roforever has some really nice features, i especially like this one
-The server has an amazing battle system with monsters that level when they kill players and have advanced AI so that they work better together.
I really hope it grows with alot of people one day :-)
the monster lvling is available as an option on all athena servers, we have it on ours :D im not too sure what the AI thing is, any more info?

first i won't choose Qro cuz i really dun care about stat/skill resetter, and also cuz it doesnt have same-sex marriage
in euph i can change hat sprite which is like a ++ for me but then with all the story goin round, i dunno if it ok now
for evo i havnt play there that long, but i havnt see anythin corrupt or something like that
so for me personally found out if euph is good or not if it is i'll choose euph from those three, but then if it isn't i'd rather go to evo.
