Is there still a serveur like back in the days but not pinoy?

Valon

Hi,

I played RO since way back in the days (although definitly not since the very beginning) and then I stopped for 4 years and here I am back to try to play "old school RO" (I don't want to play Renewal ever) but not too old like the servers without rebirth.

The problem I have is with the WOEs and BG. Right now I am playing on TervistRO which is definitly a nice server with decent rates (I like servers between 20 and 100, I remade characters too much to enjoy low rate anymore, I am not brave enough) and stable. But their WOEs seem a bit "small".

The problem right now is that I can't seem to find something even close to some servers I played back in the days when it comes to WOE. I played during my last years with a guild called WPE on servers like eRO, ChronosRO, and many more but all the time big WOE servers. I also did some "SuperWoe/interserveur" which was some crazy stuff with multiple triple alliances of guilds with 48 players each.

The point to all of this is that from what I see, it seems like there is not way I would ever find big WOEs ever again? And by big I don't mean like a SuperWoe but I mean at least 3 guilds of 40+ players in one castle.

This is kinda making me really sad, even if so far I did enjoy some Pve since it was the first in 4 years.

I found (somebody gave me) a serveur called "woe-ro" which is only about WOE and BG but it's closed due to problems and I don't know when it will open again.

What do you think about this?

The community and game has changed dramatically since you last played; communities are smaller and the game has degraded for most private servers; either neglected, outdated, or no change.

Also, its been a while since the last big spike of interest for any new servers; the new servers sucks balls and people really don't care anymore. So if you want to get your WoE on, I would recommend playing on the established servers where everyone is fully-geared, player-base can be neglect because you're replaceable, and everything remains static forever.

Sideways George Clooney

Most guild sizes in non-renewal trans nowadays are around 22-36 depending on the server, so no, you won't find 40+ outside of SuperWoe really. 4-2 months ago there were like ~7+ guilds of 25-30 on xRO but that server is dead now. Most guilds are probably just waiting for WoERO to open up.

Valon

That's really sad to be honest.

There is this server TalonRO that seemed interesting but they have all of these weird customs. Especially since I play champ since forever, the 15 sec CD asura seems heretic to me for WOE haha.
I like my RO with very little customs.

I wanted to play on the pinoy one "bahamut-ro" even if they don't have the rebirth but sadly I lag too much to woe.

I guess I am going to have to wait for WoeRO to open again if I want my good woes. Did you guys play ont it?

Clarification, bahamut-RO is not a PH server, it is a Thai server. Yes, you will surely lag in there.

Valon

Well I did not open this to find a server, it was more just to talk about it but since you guys talk about servers.

I checked lifeRO earlier today when I saw your post on RMS. The problem I have with it is I think you guys are a little bit too hardcore on the PvM. I saw some poll on your forums and some people are actually for quests for an Emperium or no autoloot. And also you have no BG even if I saw it will be there, but I assume there will be no "badge for consummables" kind of npc.
Also you are GMT -8 and I am GMT+1, I fear some problems here. It sounds like WOEs at 4 am for me, I did my share of those but I am can't do it anymore.

To be honest what I'd like is something where I can level up my champ fast and get some gears by MVPing/buying/farming a little. Then find a guild and BG 100% of my game time to have all the foods and pots I need for the WOEs and that's it.

I actually never really cared about the PvE part of the game, since I did my first WOE this is all I wanted to do in this game. And then they made BG and I find it really cool too and then they made foods and pots by BG which was the most awesome thing ever. I could "PvP" all day and get ready to WOE.
I mean I could do PvE all day in any MMO, and (this is just my opinion) better PvE than the crazy grinding we have in RO, but of all the games I tried nothing ever matched the WOEs for GvGs (my opinion again).

so does anyone in the US play bahamut or freelife? i believe both are thai servers. they look awesome but i'm assuming it lags for US ppl.

RO is a dying game Valon.  There's still some WoE focused BR based servers if that's what you're interested in with plenty of guilds on them. xRO being one of the most notable ones.

Wyvern

RO is indeed a dying game (10+ years that lots ppl prob played already), especially with all the newer online games out there (FF14, Tera, Diablo 3, etc.), and its even worse with all the amount of private servers competing for each other.

For a WoE-oriented low rate, good luck finding that. They're all mostly mid/high rates servers, and it makes sense, considering the amount of time you would need to invest to get supplies/equips and use them in WoE every time, and then guilds leaving/servers dying shortly after everytime, if it was a low rate server. I don't really play mid/high rates, but I've seen many players on in many of them (from their site), so I would imagine their WoE is at least interesting.

I think the main problem is there's way too many private servers, and RO is just old.

Meta

Ragnarok Frontier gets a spike about once a year with 3-4 guilds and 40+ people WoEing, then the population collapses. I assume whatever causes the cycle on RF happens on other servers, but they shut down before seeing the upswing. People (staff and players) are too quick to abandon servers when things get difficult.

Now that's a fact, I've experienced this too many times.

I wouldn't say Ragnarok Online is a dying game... Since you're talking about Old school but not Pinoy server... I'm playing Ragnarok Classic (old school, no trans, no 3rd job, 99/50)but PH server and players around 300 to 500... The other PH server who started last April/May 2014, Ragnarok Classic, no trans no 3rd job was around 3,000 to less 5,000 no dual log-in and no bot... And im still lovin' it..

Wyvern

Let's change it a bit then. It's a dying game in North America and certain other places. But in general, it is dying compared to how it was before.

It would be fun playing a server like that though (3k players on at once) with no dual clienting/@at for vending, even if I couldn't understand most people there...but unfortunately, I would want to make a TK Ranker and it'll most likely be hard to do...Then again, if it's those certain servers I'm thinking about, I don't even think TKs/Extended classes are in there.

Battlegrounds are temporarily disabled as the server is very young (not even opened lol). Because some people sees Battleground equipments as requirement before joining WoE. Having WoE where people wears Feather Beret and Cranial bucklers and few basic equipments is more fun than people wearing Glorious/Battleground equipments on the first WoE of the server. Battlegrounds might be enabled after the following months of the server.

And about the Emperium, It was a player's suggestion that creating a guild should be hard to keep the value of the guild system and prevent random guilds to appear out of nowhere.

I appreciated that youve visited our forum ^^ Thanks Valon
