Disliked Server Features

- Wings
There's a few wings that look alright, but the majority of them look ridiculous.  Also fairly often, a server with wings often comes with unbalanced donation items. (see below)

- Max level beyond 99/70
The game is currently designed for a max level of 99/70. (aside the new kRO updates)  It just doesn't feel right when it's beyond that limit.  Having said that though, I would still consider playing a server with a max level above 99 if the rest of the features were extremely good.

- Unbalanced donations
Pretty self-explanatory, any server that's ruled by donors isn't fun.

- MvP Arena
This makes it too easy to obtain powerful MvP cards.

- Buffer NPC
Being a fan of the Priest class, I kinda feel like this NPC makes our role slightly less useful.  Sure, it prevents random people begging for buffs in towns (which is good to some), but some of us enjoy buffing random people! D:

- High Rates
I may consider logging onto one if I'm seriously dying of boredom, but otherwise I stay far away from these.

- Acid & Fire Bottle/EDP Vendors
Any server with an NPC like this is guaranteed to be dominated by SinX's/Creators.

- No Paid Host (both website + server)
A dedicated host for the server, and a paid domain for the website show that the Admin team have put in quite a bit of effort into creating the server, meaning they aren't likely to close it down a month or two later.  It also just looks more professional & gives the server a higher potential to grow.  A server without either of these is most likely not going to last long, nor will it attract as many players.

- Immature GMs
I don't mind GMs who wish to have fun now & again.  However, GMs broadcasting stories about baphomet having sex with a poring is where I draw the line. (yes, this actually happened in a server I played once)  Also on the subject of GMs, I feel uncomfortable on any server where the GMs play legit characters & take part in WoE/PvP.

-In any form, I just hate it. I mean, the damned game is rated Teen for a reason. Do bouncing breast and bare-donkey wemon mean anything as opposed to a few "offensive" words? Pfft, moralist...

Technically the game has no rating ESRB or otherwise.

Hm. After reading this thread I have something to add. Allow me to twist it a bit.

Disliked Player Features

- Players who throw "corruption" around like it's a buzzword. - Seriously, if you don't know what the word means or entails, don't use it. I can't get over the amount of times I see "corrupt" being used because a player doesn't like a certain server, yet when asked to provide proof of corruption, they fold. It's not just a word you can use lightly...it has ramifications for the server owner and the server as a whole, and you should really figure out that you need to provide proof of said corruption(in screenshots, chat logs, and other forms) before you open your mouths.

- "but playing a servr az gm is koruptt!1!one" - Please, by all means, find out that the GM or Admin doing this has questionable ethics first. I have seen server staffers using legit characters that are just that...LEGIT. But, because they play, all of a sudden they're horrible people and the server should be avoided. Please. Open your eyes before you assume things.

- "Donations are evil and imbalancing!" - So sorry that NarutoSuperSinXRO SHR had 6 slot weapons for donators only. Not every server is like that, so why don't you do a little research on the subject before you open your mouths. Also, not all of us can run a "dedicated" server completely out of pocket. Some of us server owners have bills, and actual obligations like oh...I dunno...food? Rent? Living expenses? Then again, I'd love to see the people who make a big deal about donations run a successful server completely out of pocket. With Dedicated Hosting. And avertisements. Basically, run one of those $500/month budget servers. I really would.

- "<insert server feature here> isn't on iRO, therefore this server is crap." - Then please. Go play iRO. Shut up and do the world a favour, and go pay a monthly fee for a game you could have been playing for free if you weren't so close-minded.

- "Classic servers are real RO, anybody who plays anything other than a Classic server is a noob." - No, the real "noob" here is you. Why? Because you're an arrogant tard who thinks that anybody playing any other form of RO than your boring-a**, "non-trans" server is not playing "real" RO. Do the world a favour, go back to your RPing where you talk like people from the Renaissance Fair, and leave us sensible people out of it.

One server I played at, the player was pissed off that a GM's legit took his castle last minute, and was spreading rumours of corruption.  The GM then posted all command logs, all of his characters stats, equipment, storage etc.   The player still went on about it saying he changed everything and even made a spambot to say things like that. Then the GM closed the server with "If I'm not allowed to play on my own server for fun, I don't see why I should let anyone else"

It sucks that people still go around like that, just because some servers GMs are corrupt :/

Admittedly, not all server GMs who play legits are corrupt.  But you cannot deny that it does happen quite often, many GMs can't resist that temptation when their guild repeatedly loses in WoE.. etc.  Yes it is a shame, but the fact is that because of all these corrupt GMs that've been around, many players will always feel uneasy/suspicious when a GM's legit guild suddenly starts dominating WoE/PvP.

I personally feel uncomfortable when playing on a server where GMs play as legits, as I have had experience with GM corruption first-hand in more than one server, (Yes, the GMs were proven to be corrupt, it wasn't just accusations) but that's just my opinion & how I feel.  I'm not saying I'd never trust a GM playing a legit ever again, but I would feel slightly uneasy due to past experiences.  Harassing a GM who plays a legit like in the above post is something I'd never do though.  I would never accuse a GM unless I had some serious evidence to back up my claims, nor would I spread around rumours.

those server (max lv  255) (Max stat 99)u cant even use a non-casting caster(wiz/prof)coz u need 145 for no cast ,  u cant achieve the max Apsd uneed more than 200 agi

Gtb/maya/frus/thana ( this sucks if u are a prof)
custom pets ( son goku / transformers / etc)

Ok whats wrong with free websites and free file sharing? I built my server from scratch. paid 600 usd for a server machine and currently pay 90 bucks a month for optimum online boost. which has better streaming... and is cable internet. not to mention 40 bucks on a 2 gig memory stick upgrade for the server machine.

Plus it has been open for almost a year now and i do not plan on shutting it down. i may transfer the machine if i ever move but the server will not go down. i do not plan on it.

i use free sites because i dont need to be paying more than what i do now. Because as of now i dont make anything but i continue to update and put in new stuff on my server.

Can you tell me why free sites are bad for servers?

I host my server on my home computer for now.

Unfortunately, I dont use freehosts. Well I do in a sense that it's free.

I host off my own webserver, my domain is a no-ip account, I have more then 5 different domains, (no-ip dns really) all connect to the same computer.

There's alot of work and professionalism in the fact to use vhost in apache, let alone configuring apache, mysql and php. Even when using a pre-configured packaged.

For hated features. I don't think there is none. I've only played five servers in my entire ro lifetime, in 5 years. >_> 3-2 just didn't even make a year, one I was dedicated for 3-4 years alone. and one I played for 1 year to 6 months.

What I hated most out of all of it. Was malls. Anything that destroyed the economy.

Because 90% of the time they are an eyesore and a waste of space.  Also free hosts don't offer php and mysql so you can't run anything like a control panel.  If it were me, I'd just use forums over a freehost.

Also, if you haven't noticed, most free hosts have advertising on the pages.

and you don't consider the extra funding that the owners have to spend to make the server good and keep it online... correct?

Also free hosts provide traffic for the person creating a subsite on their website. they also cut the costs. as in if you pay $1,080 usd yearly just to keep the server online (as i do) you do not need to pay more. you just need the players to vote to bring the new players in.

as time passes and you are making some profit from the server then you consider doing more with the server.

Unbalanced custom items. There ARE ways to have useful donation items AND not break the game in every possible way. At least I hope so.
And I think that's the only thing. The first thing I check upon seeing an interesting server is how are its donation stuff.

Donation items.. ridiculous bonuses that you get from custom combos, ie. wearing a mid and upper custom gives you the bonus of maya purple effect, thus allowing the ability to equip 3 kiels possible. >.>
Lacking the basics: @warp, @storage, @gstorage, and the like.
Having ASPD lower than 192, being a sniper player myself. :|
