WoonRO promotes player with botting history to GM

This is in regards to the midrate server known as WoonRO. Recently, the server had experienced some decline in staff activity, so they promoted two people as "trail GMs" for support and event purposes. One of these is a person called Kimberly. Prior to her promotion, she was suspected of botting and was banned. The admin conducted an investigation in which she told him her brother who couldn't speak english was on her character, and could not respond. For some reason, even despite admitting his own doubt, he allowed that exuse. Shortly after, Kimberly is promoted to a Trail GM out of the blue. She apparently sent an application in private. A number of players raised their concerns and suspicions  about such an action, but these objections went mostly ignored. The GM staff took to muting and banning several people that spoke out against this person. Later on, a player discovered that a GM was abusing their power, and after some investigation, it turns out to be GM Kimberly, who had been previously involved in a botting situation on this server. The supposed reason for this ban of GM Kimberly is that a player discovered her using GM skills to locate MvPs for her legit characters and her guild. What really gets me is that both times she was accused of misdeeds as a player, she used the excuse that someone else was on her account and couldn't speak English. So it's only rational that they wouldn't respond during a bot check. Isn't that the excuse that most botters use? Yet the WoonRO admins felt that was a justified reason. It's one thing to let her continue playing after that, but to promote her to Game Master...

Not a crime, dude, 'specially since it's not even a real job. Missing $$$.

and Woon is dumb for hiring a possible cheater in the first place. Shouldn't have even considered it.

Kind of sad as at one point I was considering playing here. I would be pissed right now if I had noobs as the admins of the server I was playing. This is the type of stuff that often kills servers - Woon is lucky she was caught very quickly; if she was let loose for a bit longer she would've escalated and done some permanent damage to the server.

cant even held a judgement properly on their own GMs.. i wonder what will happen to the server when its filled with rule breakers later on...

Funny, so many servers allow GMs to have legits. When -most- problems can be negated by saying no. Though, I can see why it's hardly important, but still..

Anyway why the heck would someone revive this threat?

I'm replying because I don't want this silly topic to go in the wrong direction now that WoonRO is doing a bit better.  As you can see it was a year ago and none of that staff is with WoonRO anymore.

I don't know if I'm out of line asking this, but can we please close this threat, as WoonRO is nothing like it was back then. The staff is totally gone, the server had been shut down and revived and the success is quite a bit different.
