Quote from: Hexia on Jun 02, 2024, 09:48 AMHey everyone. I have been a LoN player since its beginning, making this post saddens me as this server had one of the most promising futures for a low rate with huge population support.Great review. I also really like this server. The gearing, the scaling and most cards were heavily rebalanced with things such as the aftercast delay removed (and cooldowns added instead), the monsters were made much tougher in a result.
This renewal server had one of the best starts I could've ever seen for a private server, with many players excited to try it out. Sadly, so many bad unplanned decisions pushed 75% of the population away. Even the most loyal players ended up quitting because they were not heard. The Developer never listened and went with all the possible wrong changes, pretty much laughing at the veteran's time and donation spent. The server hasn't had any meaningful content or development in the past 4-5 months, as it seems playing Diablo 2 is more important than being accountable to each player's trust merge fruit. To mention some of the issues being faced:
- Road map went from specific deadlines and goals to unplanned and not defined updates.
- There is no point in min-maxing as you will constantly be getting random and out of nowhere changes in damage formulas, nerfs, and ¨balancing¨ so any hard work will feel lost. These changes are never properly tested by the developer and most of them come out of random discussions in his stream instead of deep testing, this has become an endless loop through these last months.
- Episodes being added incompletely and not being addressed for months even after several requests by the players.
- Dev - time being placed in nonsense stuff instead of bug–fixing and content development.
- Maintenances stopped being regular
This server has great QoL features, and you are likely to enjoy the journey until you hit level 200. But after that, you will feel like the time spent there was just not worth it as the experience of the players having reached there isn't taken into account, enhanced, or taken care of.
I'm concerned about all the newer players that have been joining recently, I would politely suggest you re-consider starting your RO journey in this server or spending time/donations in the meantime as it seems like even at this state there isn't any foreseeable plan to solve any of the issues the server is having.
QuoteConcept:The overall goal seems to be providing a balanced, nostalgic RO experience where bots serve as a tool to assist players, rather than dominating the gameplay.
The game is now being reconfigured to emulate classic RO play experience but with bot featuring as assistance to your play instead harming the game balance. With our increasing commitments and need for work/ life/ play balance- the game is modified in rates, features and protection to experience a sustainable nostalgic gameplay.
Core Server settings:
1) Base EXP, Job EXP, and Drop Rates x0.5/x0.5/x0.5 (to counter 24/7 bot usage).
2) Offset with special buffs available for daily claim.
- Weekday rates increased to 1/1/1 for 3 hours. (ExpBoost Master available for daily claim.)
- Weekend rates increased to 1/1/1 for 6 hours. (quordle)
- Rates subject to monitoring and periodic adjustments to counter long-term botting.
- Maximum of 2 active logins allowed. Eg. 2 bots/ 1 bot+1 manual/ 2 manual dual client.
- The server will now start from Episode 5 - Yuno, with ongoing updates scheduled.

If you want to have a proper discussion regarding issues you think the server has, start by talking to us/me in discord , making a post on RMS under a random name nobody has ever heard of, looks a lot like toxic behaviour honestly.
Quote from: yC on Jun 02, 2024, 12:57 PMTo be fair, most servers out there are playable for free. So saying the server owner or devs doing other things rather than developing the game is rather demanding. We have to understand that they don't owe the player anything.
Do remember server staff also are human, they are not generative AI that write code and response to requests 24/7. They also have a life, maybe a job or a family to take care of.
Your priority of the server might be different than the priority the server staff is aiming, in which case that will frustrate you as a player. However, that is out of your control. You can make suggestion and constructive criticism but do not expect your suggestion to become the top priority.
I mean, you wouldn't be the only player that give suggestions right? So just relax and let the server sort things out if you feel you can bear with the team.
The last thing I want to see is server with great potential have to close due to pressure from working on the server. @ hope everyone see this

Quote from: yC on Jun 02, 2024, 12:57 PMYou can make suggestion and constructive criticism but do not expect your suggestion to become the top priority. Most player nowadays always want owner of the server or developer to follow their request/suggestion 100%. If not, they will try to ruins the server until the owner/dev follow what they want. But lastly they will leave the server and repeat the same thing on other server.
Quote from: Hexia on Jun 02, 2024, 10:30 AMIt's lovely how you only look at IPs instead of getting into the game and looking at the state of it. It's so easy to see how empty the game feels and you'd see the same 10 people around with different alts. Probably most of these IPs are one-time-only players. This statement is nonsense, there is no way you even have 20-30 players playing at the same time.
Thanks for validating my point that most players playing are under 200. Have you ever wondered why? Probably because most above that have left the game by now.
Oh about the dev streams, I guess you refer to the ones we have barely once every month or so?
Polls about basically every meaningful change and meaningful development. Right, I like the poll about removing the mount of DK and still being able to use Dragon Breath skills, I can see how meaningful that is, not like we have missing instances and a lot of bug fixing to do.
Honestly, the first step to address a problem is understanding there is one, which isn't the case here.
