I got permission from the moderator to remake this thread.

I've been a player on this server for over a year now and I still play on it today. Here is a nice Devil Square mini-game video I made of my Sniper if you don't believe me:

First, I'd like to say that Shikari is wrong, along with the other GM team members. The Guard/Admin applications are handled immaturely as it turns out. In my opinion, Shikari should have never had the position of power since the server doesn't need more than three Guards for 150 people (Also not considering his poor grammar and spelling). Before I get deeper into this admin issue, I'd like to discuss the server itself.

Multiple WoE system! Allowing fun for all time zones!

Just as previously mentioned in the last thread, WoE hasn't worked for about two months. The WoE times are constantly being changed in convenience of those who donate(Philippines area). The Emperium still doesn't spawn on the sch_gld woe and nothing is being done even though the problem has been address numerous times.

NFRO Features:

Satan Morroc, Abbey, Nameless Island, Moscovia;

We don't have Satan Morroc itself.

Kafra Shop with no overpowered donation items;

That can't get any more bull s*** than this. You have, frozen immunity, over 100% demi-human damage, and [2] slotted jards for every stat.

Over 250+ Custom Pets - Rare hatchable pet eggs;

About 50 of those pets make your game crash when you click on them.

Balanced classes;

I lied when I said donation items were s***. You can't kill a Lord Knight or a Creator on this server. Champs are too overpowered on WoE since they Body Relocate, ygg, rinse and repeat. The 12 slots in the headgear is ridiculous since you can get 120% fire resistance.

Server up for 1 year, never wiped;

It was wiped pretty recently, I lost over 5b worth in items and never got back the cards or items that were in my storage.

Ventrilo Voice Chat;

This is what pisses me off the most, Kitsune is a liar. We don't have a Ventrillo channel, we got Teamspeak. But guess what? It hasn't been paid for for months. You'd think Kitsune would bother to spend $15 from his ~$800-$1000 funding to pay for this? I think he'd rather have some gas money on the side.

New stuff added frequently!

New stuff meaning more over-powered donation items that make other people crash. The Hollow Mask[4]: (Middle-Head)
An evil mask that represents the demon that lives inside your soul just waiting to take the control over your body and mind.
+10% damage against demi-human
STR +10, AGI +15, DEX +10
20% chance of double attack and 10% chance to curse yourself while attacking
MDEF + 20

Because it's negative effect can't be fixed with an Evil Snake Lord card? If you browse the NFRO forums then you may find a nice thread stating that the Hollow Mask crashes people at a certain angle. You can't do anything against it, it's not a sakray problem, it's not being up to date with the patching problem. When suggested for the sprite of Hollow Mask to be changed we get no reply from the GM Team.


The Server Costs:
You'd think a server with 150 players and an $800 minimum amount of money would run properly? You'd think wrong. People have been getting numerous amount of lag around the world and some, including myself, aren't even able to log on where others can log in perfectly at the same time. In my opinion, the money are going into someone's pocket.



Back on the Shikari's issue:
Just like Shikari said, players get banned on personal views of the GM banning you. I got a ridiculous five hour jail time that made me skip WoE, wait no, that WoE was GLITCHED, for saying that people shouldn't beg for a moderator spot on the forums. The GM team always contradicts everything another GM has to say. I mentioned that a member's grammar was poor on a forum post, I get a warning. About three days later a moderator of the forum uses grammar as an insult to the member trying to cool his head. I do the rational thing and report that moderator to the admins since she broke the rule I was warned about. Guess what I get? A board warning from Kitsune himself. So the one sitting on the throne does the moderator's job now? Who's fixing the server if he spends his time s*** about real life when he and his gf are cosplaying and partying?


Discuss this in a civil manner please.

It's great that we're pointing out issues with nfRO, but I have to say something, as this is REALLY bothering me.

I get the point about someone needing to pay attention to the server, but you CAN NOT fault an admin for having a life away from his computer. Just as people go home from their IRL jobs at the end of the day, admins are entitled to "go out and party and cosplay with their gfs" - I run an office IRL, and customers/coworkers don't call me up on my off-time to demand that I fix s***. It's kind of disconcerting that people have taken such an interest in his personal life that they care about what he does when he's afk, to be honest. Probably not the best comparison, but still. You can not expect someone to give up s*** about in real life" just because you want to play a game. Come on.

That aside, I do hope this topic turns out better than the last one. @_@

Thank you for clearing that up, it means a lot - especially since a lot of people have this weird attitude about admins, thinking they're not allowed to go outside or something. Connections can be affected by some numerous problems, LAG is the word you use for HIGH PACKET LATENCY that can be caused BY:

LOCALLY:
Bittorrents.
Videos.
Audio Streaming .
VIRUS.
Downloads.

ISP:
Server Overload.
Route problems.
Crappy hardware.
Poor Link quality.
Physical distance from the endpoint.

NFRO SERVER has a 100/100mbit unmetered port, each RO client consumes 4kbits upload/download more or less.
SO, lets do some rough mathematics:


IF    1 -------4kbits
then x--------102400kbits (100 mbits = 102400kbits )

4x  = 102400 ---> x = 102400/4  ----> x = 25600

So the connection can handle 25.600 players at the same time having no LAG. Isn't something wrong on YOUR SIDE?

That's great to see, you poking your nose on my personal life.

Man get over yourself and join all the brainless people that can only say s*** about our work, we resign our lifes to let you play or game and this is what we get in return.

The cool thing is that the ADMIN GET BULLIED WHEN THE REASON IS LIFE OR MONEY, do you guys have a MINIMUM idea of what is adminning a game server? This means 25 Hours a day solving players issues or hearing guys like you telling that you are the <select> robber , s*** , worst , incompetent , etc </select> admin in the world because you banned his caracter or did not agree on what you have to say.
And this happens ALL THE f*** TIME. 

Not mentioning the scripting and all other "behind the stage" work...

So once again thank you for exposing our bugs, we will happily solve them ingame and you are welcome to tell us more of it.

That statement of Kitsune's is out-of-date actually, Surgz. First off, nfRO has been up for two years now, coming this May or June or something. That one year he's talking about was right before we joined. >__>;

Also, I'd still say nfRO overall has less lag than other servers does. I mean, it's lagged a lot the last couple of days yes, but up until that point it never lagged except for Devil's Square, and honestly, who cares about DS lag anymore. You learn to get used to it.

Asura Helm+Cyber Wings+Hollow mask is over 100% demi-human damage. I didn't say it was one item, it's just that some classes like Champs/LKs benefit more from these than others. Playing another server would mean not playing NFRO, I don't feel like leaving my friends behind.

I have posted the important stuff I want to fix. I talked to you when you were online. I broadcasted the issue via microphone over the whole server. I've done everything in my power and I get no response. I am now refusing to post on the NFRO forums since you'll be out there trying to find another server attack to ban me from the game. Spot for me? If anything, you want me gone.

Is acting up at the same time? My other games(World of Warcraft, Warhammer, Homeworld 2) aren't lagging at all, but when I turn on NFRO, I can barely move my character. It's not coming from my side.


Once again, I'm not bullying you, I'm not calling you names, I'm simply criticizing the server. All I want is these issues to be noticed and fixed because other than this, I enjoy NFRO.

No you don't, if you do you would know that every packet travels thru different routes to their destiny, and i am VERY DAMN SURE that wow and warhammer servers got their own private links, i unfortunately have to share mine with others. So that means that you can be on a route that has a bottleneck to get to nfro servers.

Please, pretty please, do not try to argue with me on that. I can ASSURE you that i know about this stuff...

Back on topic...wait...we've been here before. In fact, nearly everything that was said in the LAST NFRO thread was said here. Donations. Server Costs. Lag. Staff Inactivity. It's a carbon copy of the last.

Now then. I don't get what is so hard about providing proof of ANYTHING. Instead, we get something like "BAWWWWWWWWW NOTHING'S GOING MY WAYYYYYYY" every...goddamn...time.
