Using multiple vendor to raise player counts, you can call it smart, you can say so what?, but I can post my review too.

Yes, you can say they all different people.
Yes, you can say they all legitimately vend with that many vendor each.
Yes, you can say mind my own business.

But NO, you can't stop my opinion/review.

I request this to be in the "hall of shame section".

Though, whatever happens I am just posting my opinion, I let everyone else be the judge.

Edit: Bah I am using paint and I am noob with paint and photobucket.

So I add direct link here too,

Hutchy

A lot of servers do this, unfortunately.

i think this goes better in the hall of shame =P

Descent

Good place for it.

And yes, that is ridiculous. Some players on FaithRO proposed that @at be reinstated as a command, since "we don't look like we have enough players so @at will make it look more populated".

They couldn't be any more wrong.

Good catch, Scars.

Hutchy

I didn't realize this would put a server in the hall of shame; I can think of about three different servers I've played on that all throw 20-odd venders up to increase player count. XD

superhappyfun

on the otherhand you could look at it from a different angle and say "wow it muust have a good/decent economy with all those merchants" xD

the main idea behind the hall of shame is to:
"- Your report in this section is nothing more than to warn others about the practice of the server in discussion"

i think faking a player count is one of those practices =/
plus i hate tons and tons of venders as is XD so it really annoys me

It's pretty much a blatant grab at falsifying an online player count.

Definitely belongs here.

Shinae

I wish all vendors wouldn't count as online players. I tried some time ago find a new server that has around 100 players online. I left many servers because most people online were only vending.

Then again it's normal to have lots of vendors, but it's quite a shame if you try raise your server population by making huge amount of fake vendors.

Faking doesn't make new players to stay in your server. They find out truth eventually.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

Hutchy

Especially when there are thirty or forty shops just containing one item at a ridiculous price, or something. @_@

Scars

Apparently you can no longer see the map the people on or list by class now.

Wow.

Fail LoveRO... I just went to their site and found this.

Now go to www.cake-ro.com ... don't those buttons look familiar?
If you don't believe me that they stole those from us..
go to the forums and look at the huge piece of cake... haha.
It's the same as the one on the download button.

I am wondering... those AutoTrade merchants, are they setup by the GMs or just players? Assuming if I am a player with lots of stuffs to sell, so I decide to make multiple "Vending Accounts" and for simplicity- I named them Vendor 1, 2, 3, .... and place them at strategic locations- vending all day long, until I decide to check on them once in a while. How is it that the Server or GMs is responsibly for the action of a player? Or I could be wrong and those AutoTrade merchants are part of a Grand Scheme by the GMs to boost their player count. How does one really know?

Let's first explore this post shall we? Mkay. I am unaware as to why you think it's illegal or immoral to allow people to autovend? Maybe the person simply has a lot of items to sell? Oh but that wouldn't make food a good flame post, would it? We should instead take things out of context, with screen shots that prove utterly nothing.

I'll next look closer at decents post. Being that most of the post is irrelevant to the topic I will disregard it, I neither want or care to know anything about Faith-RO.

How would you know where this server belongs? Have you played it? Do you know if those merchants are legitimate members selling legitimate items? No, I'm guessing you do not, you're most likely going off of here say. I feel everyone that read this should disregard his opinion as well.

I would like to thank SuperHappy his post looked at it from a different angel, instead of blacklisting a server, on hear-say.

@ JJJ - What I find most interesting is your utter lack of research into the server. Faking player count? Apparently people with multiple vendors are now considered either, gm's bent on increasing their server population by false means, or players cheating for the gm's. I mean seriously, this is coming from a gobal moderator, a flame from a moderator.... I feel moderators opinions should be unbiased, yours however, speaks harshly. "Plus I hate tons and tons of venders" This could, and probably has damaged the reputation of the server. I would've expected better from a moderator..

Now for squid. I don't know who did the website, I am just a player on love-ro and I feel it's a truely good server. I didn't know that was from cake ro, and I will ask them gms about it ^__^.

Blue, I completely agree with you. Unless Decent JJJ and whoever started this post claim to read minds, they have no right to make assumptions. As I said, I really would've expected better from a gobal moderator.

Even if 90% of the populations are AutoTraders?
