In the database, there are a lot of items that have "rental item" in the description, so I was wondering if someone could explain what that means, if it's possible to get them, etc. There are also some items that don't drop from a monster, aren't sold and can't be made, for example the Pocket Watch, an accessory that is part of two item combos, but doesn't seem obtainable. Is there a way to get those items?

No, iRO doesn't have them.
Rental items are from kRO/jRO, they're old items that give extra stats that can only used for a week or so. Such as a Rental AoA gives DEX +4, whereas a regular AoA is DEX +3. When time runs out, they disappear from your inventory.
