It has definitely hit an all time low especially on the private server community, however it won't outright "die" for a long time.

And before anyone says, it's not just because it's an old game.

Kind of. New private servers don't even stay for 2 months.

In some private server they dont manage  properly the server owners just recruit some developers waste their money on it and they think every thing is done now actually they have to properly market it out and should follow clean & open way of functions but most of the private server get corrupted because of their immatured way of handling which leads to end of the server People who trying to open a server need to understand opening a server or developing server is easy thing but managing its very difficult please plan before you open or it would just land into another dead server category

I somewhat agree with Warock.  More preparation, less laziness and no brainer would help keep the people's interest.  But that does not seal a success formula.

RO ... if you think it's alive it is alive, if you think it is dead then it's dead.  Up to you.  No point to listen to a bunch of yes and no.  Just ask yourself.

I started thinking that RO is dead after renewal and 3rds. My friends also told me to wait for mRO v2 to go back up or they won't play. Now I feel stupid refreshing the random server page looking for no renewal no thirds servers.

According to me good server always stays forever lot of server being dead or going offline doesnt means ragnarok has lost the sheen  its just bad servers are going down good ones are always here to stay I believe in one good server rather than multiple bad server

btw, can't expect HRs not to jump on the 3rd class bandwagon, 'cause the way i see it, HRs are for ppl who get bored easily, so they want cheap trills, new stuffs, etc rather than long term gameplaying satisfaction ;

3rd jobs killed it, but prior, RO was already dying.

Same s*** over'n over. Bad community. Wrong priorities and $$$ objectives.

Plus, when I do see a good server pop up every now and then, they never seem to get decent player support! If you want to help Ragnarok, don't support (play) junk; it just gives less incentive for the p-server community to improve. If a decent server with a lot of effort put in launches, support it ffs.

Private servers exist only for their owners to make money.  Every p.server starts off friendly and community oriented, but eventually the owner/admin gets greedy and starts caring only about the players who donate real money.  That's why servers die.

jRO afaik is doing a fairly better job than kRO, but that's from what I heard. iRO is plumetting down hence the free-to-play conversion. Imo they just make it a high rate and like any other server out there lololol, and no bots. >.>
