Hello everyone. I have recently become suspicious about the drop rates on chaos server after hours and weeks of farming for a thera frog card during the x2 drop rate event proved the be completely futile. Now ive heard people say its all just luck of the draw and some people get lucky. ETC. So i decided to cheat luck, and run bots 24/7 to do my own tests on the actual drop rate. What i found was actually quite disgusting and unfair for the average player (and the reason so many people end up quitting from being too poor to enjoy the game to its fullest)

After a month of solid botting, i found that

-drop rates are lowered SIGNIFICANTLY after midnight server time. I assume this is to slow botters down from being able to prosper when GMs are not online. Often times i would wake up in the morning without a single rare item from the loot table. But during the day, i would pull multiple cards and have so much loot piling up, that my character would constantly be overweight.

-Sunday/Monday mornings i found were the worst drop rate period. This led me to the conclusion that because the actual Warp Portal offices are closed early or closed all weekend, they lower the drops to deter botters since they cant be there to do anything about it (like they would anyways lol)

-there is a 15 level loot penalty despite irowiki saying there is not. Drop rate is lowered by 50% if you are 15 levels higher or lower then the monster. this is EXTREMELY unfair for players trying to get themselves gear when the drop rate is already horrendous. They leave a pathetically narrow window of opportunity to have what is still a horrific drop rate, and if you miss it, youll find yourself s*** out of luck and having to resort to spending a fortune buying it from someone lucky enough to find it, grind your life away being penalized to death, or bot like everyone eventually has to do to be able to compete on this servers market.

Ive heard people say that the loot is also based on how many players are online (which makes no sense since its supposed to be a fixed rate), how many players are killing that same mob, how many players are on the map youre on, how many players have already gotten that drop item. I cant prove or disprove any of these theories due to the variable being too wild, but i can tell you that something is definitely wrong.

Now back to my original situation: the thara frog card. Why was i unable to pull one after mindlessly grinding my life away for such a long time, but able to pull 8 hydra cards and 9 megalodon cards + the entire loot tables of all 3 monsters in comodo dungeon?

1) they did not raise the x2 rate on the thara frogs despite them being a comodo monster. I assume this was a method of controlling the flood of actually useful items coming into the server and once again...deterring bots. Who suffers because of this? Legit players like myself that try to honestly earn things and are eventually crushed and defeated by gravitys poor choices (which eventually leads to us becoming botters because we dont have a shot at the game otherwise)

2)they lowered the drop rate on thara frog cards ON TOP of them not giving the x2 bonus, despite it saying there is a .1% chance of it dropping (this is just a conspiracy theory, but you gotta admit it makes sense right?). I spoke to another botter that said he had left his bots in comodo dungeon for 2 weeks straight and still didnt get a card. I mean seriously, how do they expect us to play the game with these absolutely ridiculous drop rates? Theyve taken it beyond the point of grindfest and just made it plain stupid that even robots cant beat the system

I'm not surprised, just because Gravity has the best advertised and populated servers doesn't make it the best. They have always been garbage, I remember tons of corruption over the years. All they care about is milking players wallets with their cash items that make the game retarded unless you are willing to pay.

They wipe and unfairly ban players all the time, copy content from other private servers cause they are to lazy to think of anything. f*** gravity, can't believe you would spend your time on it anyway.

Triper

True, I remember 2 famous cases from them:
iRO:
- I remember to read about a guy that faked being a girl for months for an iRO GM. He made it so well that the GM gave him a GR in the end.
fRO:
- The famous case of the x-mas prontera map that was using files from a pserver that had the name of the creator on a building lol Tons of players asked the iro staff why that building had a name there.

[edit]
Fixed server names, memory failed at me, damn you!

haha. well, s***. i knew something was up. i've been botting on IndiaRO aswell since i'm from india and my bot would never get caught since my config was almost-perfect. and IRO is very laggy for me. it's hard to bot. but i still never got banned since my timezone is oposite to theirs. i quit it though. since the botting did seem weird to me. the drops rates were too low. o.O at one point i thought this was a 0.5x server. but the exp rates were good. randomly switched to 2x or maybe 3x and that's pretty good for botting i must say.

Interesting, why this topic has been left alone for a month ...

The assumption in this "report" is they lowered the drop rates to make bot suffer but that take everyone with it obviously.  About the time difference for drop rates, that is under the assumption that during time that there is a lack of staff moderation (to catch bot) drop rate will be lower.  But I want to know do iRO catch bot?  at all? Are they even trying?  If they don't catch any then changing the drop rate at different time wouldn't make a difference.

Triper where is the name and which building .. it's gone by now right?

fcktehname

yes, they do ban bots. my first few bots got banned in IRO. but since its a official server and my past experience with official servers, i've noticed they ban about 2 or 3 bots per map and let the rest of the bots stay since most of the population on official ROs are bots.

After I searched the topic, now I think my memory tricked me :( I found it as being fRO instead of iRO[still bad anyway]

This is so bad ... They even claimed item sprites[worse then I remembered] as their own and even removed the credits from the xmas prontera map after people finding that out ._.

Astraeos

More f*** up things then that have happened. They've nerfed the rates on the refining NPC when they do sales on Ori/Elu from the cash shop or do events revolved around refining. They gave belts to the owner of the servers they host the game on. They've allowed certain guilds to abuse mechanics in which said guild was allowed to get a large mass of MVP cards in a very short time.

Triper

They still do nothing to video reports of people abusing the e-call on lp trick? I remember a couple of video reports about the same guild and they just ignored it because it was against a big guild of WoE lulz

Roda Frog of Sakray

I love how on my entire time on iRO I have seen very few real cheaters taken care of....in spite of mounds of video evidence...sometimes filmed by the cheaters themselves blatantly showing them do things like autopot, autotarget...etc....and yet I have seen SO many people framed and banned for doing way too good in a legit manner....like valkyries first instacast wiz...which happened to be in my guild, and who I made sure was using a legit build....was framed for...botting? I later confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt that she hadn't botted....which was rare but not non-existent (I still haven't botted once). And yet as recently as this year there was someone who posted a video with their name on it that showed them blatantly cheating and absolutely nothing was done. My brother once bought zeny as a way to get back at gravity....and then was banned...then unbanned because he was a paying customer. My advice? iRO had it's good days, but nowadays I wouldn't reccomend touching it with a 10 foot pole.
Triper is really awesome! For real!

Thoth

haha... games that force their players to grind are basically abusive relationships. no surprise that it would get more abusive...

Mr Chow

I find corruption common to official servers.

Dude what Admin would actually enter your N>party pub and say that you must give all your items to your new found party friend or she/he will ban you. Lol f*** that.

they are 100% aware that cheating is going on and even have screenshots and videos of the people doing it. they refuse to ban these people though because they are 1)established in the community and 2)are vip subscribers that are known to purchase kafra shop gear.

it has become widely known now that people are using RO-Medic autopotting bot to not die in WoE and pvp. you can even google RO medic and get a link to the program. its been posted on iROs msg boards countless times and the moderators keep deleting the posts to erase evidence so that they can play dumb to the issue and not have to ban paying customers.

you guys are right. iRO/warpportal/gravity are corrupt as f*** and instead of just making the necessary changes to improve the game (which would in the long run boost the population), they have a bunch of shady f*** trying to milk the few players left for everything theyre worth until the ship finally goes down. this is no way to run a corporation and its really sad watching them mishandle something we all love so much.

i mean ffs, their website is still missing sections for classes and providing outdated class info for the classes they do have listed. they really just dont give a f***

RoseTea

This is interesting.  I assume your bot kept logs and thus you have conclusive data to show about your month of drop rates versus the expected, right?  I mean, this is something we can very easily figure out is true or not once we have the numbers.
