Welcome to the new forum /...
The forum has been upgraded. Many of the old plugins and add-ons are no longer being maintained by the original developers, so the forum will have to move on without them. After all, the forum has been around for almost 20 years. I really can't expect free plugins and code project being maintained for that long. This reminds me to be thankful of what we have in the RO private server community, we have eAthena / rAthena / Hercules which are being kept up-to-date and well maintained by a professional team.
Back to the forum upgrade /ho
The theme from the previous version doesn't work with the upgraded version. I will try to move back some of the elements from the old theme if possible as we progress. This newer version of the forum is more modern and mobile friendly, it will take some time to get used to (for me at least). I haven't take the time to discover all the features and to check if everything is working as they should. So please let me know if you find something is missing, broken or out of place.

The RMS front page latest topic will not work for now. I will have to fix it later.
The shoutbox will not come back, I can't find a substitute for it that works. But we got discord anyway.
It should be a good idea to do without that many add-ons going forward so upgrading will not be as painful.
On a side note ...
It's not too late to go back to the old version /heh but then we will have to stuck with it for as long as the forum stay alive. Given the usage, I think we can live with this unless there is a very good reason to go back to the old version.

Unfortunately this is how the internet want its stuff now when people are often on a small screen. Being an internet oldies I somewhat agree with you, that's why I have this /... feeling after the upgrade. But then monitoring drama posts on my phone is much easier now.

It's a mix between the old style but at the same time the font and font size doesn't work for me. It takes too much space but I can't read it easily.
At least now I can add an avatar. o:

You weren't able to add an avatar before? Due to the post count or forum error?
"Things are so big and take so much space" is the most I heard so far lol. Good to know we are more used to the old and compact style. I will continue to try to remove spaces here and there.

Probably because of post count.
Regarding the size of things, I think it's mostly the line spacing. It feels like changing 1.0 to 1.5 on a text processor.

That's intended. Code examples are better read with monospaced fonts. You shouldn't use code tags for that.

Feels weird (due to how old and iconic the old forum was) on browser but it's actually usable on mobile now, so props to the team!
This is proof that everything changes on the internet. One of the few forums that kept old design...

I see what you mean, but can't find a good combination of color to replace that box. I'll just make the text black and the background slightly less bright. Hope that helps.
I am mostly done with changing the colors and spacing in the forum (the best change is to make it look like nothing had changed lol). If there is anywhere else I overlooked or feature in the old forum that we desperately need to bring back, please let me know.
