I like the idea (because i love dx9 clients), just idk if it could be misused.

Sorry, I think this is too specific or I don't mind it enough to give it a consideration.

We played RO with Dx7 for so many years it's not anything strange to us.

Usually you select servers based on rates and features you like, never have I considered the DirectX version of the server as factor, I couldn't even tell you the version of any server I played.  /heh

Yeah make dx9 a necessity, let's make those client sellers rich.

I could say from personal experience that trying to not get graphical lag on a GTX1650 with 4GB of vram using dgvoodoo because it used the intel craphics igpu was a nightmare to tinker.

Literally the game is unplayable if you use Geforce.

What are you talking about? I use geforce cards and dx7 clients work just fine, I never once cared what DX a server was using, pretty sure 98% of RO players don't care or pay attention either.

I got a bunch of people that tried to play on Alfheim that they needed to use dgvoodoo's guide that is on this forum to get their client going.

If your server relies on client sellers I don't think it's not worth playing.

DX9 is actually one of the biggest changes to RO, higher resolution support alone makes it better for the players. And higher end PCs would take advantage of the higher performance ceiling.

It is a good benchmark for a good private server, it signals to potential players that it isn't yet another copy paste cookie cutter pserver.

DX9 is a feature worth filtering, I'm not sure if you've really experienced the newer DX9 clients

There are certain clients from mid 2010s that borks RO graphics geforce cards because of etiher nvidia driver or gravity's superb programming.

No, this should be a good addition to the filter. There are already new computers from current time that cannot run DX7 clients (because of new Intel CPU) unless dgvoodoo is used and allowed by Gepard. As another user mentioned above, DX9 allows bigger resolution support and better framerates.
