Nekoruchii

Hello. Its been a while since I last made my server review on RMS. This review, is not only from my side but this is actually a guild review about Woon Renewal. I'd like to thank my guildies in cooperating to make a honest review in RMS. Almost everyone here had played for a month already (and I did played for days when it opened though, stopped due to university.)

Server Stability and Availability:

There's no perfect server in terms of availability and stability, we always believed that lag-free servers never existed. We do not deny the fact that we lag randomly but we do not lag for hours or so. The server is really available from time to time, except for maintenance, of course. Random crashes happen because of a bugged skill but it gets fixed quick or at least it gets disabled and gets fixed after maintenance.

Community Friendliness:

Yeah, Woon Renewal has a friendly and welcoming community and not only the players are friendly, but the staff too. Almost everyone is very approachable and its not that hard to get along with everyone here.

Eventfulness:

There are automated events every hour and GM or council events happen randomly, it might be daily or every other day, depending on one's availability. We are still hoping for forum events though. Aside from the one hosted by the staff, I consider one of the custom dungeons here as a part of the event, which is known as "deathmas", its available until Christmas, which will keep you hooked up by killing some tough monsters that will take some time for you to farm some items that can be exchanged for costumes or some kawaii gears (like pizza hat and etc.) and its only available for that time being.

Staff Ratings:

I can say that the staff are very active, from the GM team itself to the council itself. (WE will not deny that two of our guildies are recently hired for trial council, which will be (Nekoruchii) and Misaki Ryou.) Aside from they are active, they are also easy to approach and they are really deserving to be on their positions.

Gameplay:

100/100/75 (1x MvP card drop) isn't that bad, its not that fast nor slow to level, with the help of the Eden Group and Questboard (server custom), leveling good enough, you just need to put hours and effort in leveling your character until to the max level. No one is forcing you to max yourself, afterall. Aside from the Questboard, the server has also Hunting Missions, which will keep you busy from time to time as they reward zeny, exp and mission points which can be exchanged for costumes. And, one of my favorites, which is the hatter, where you can make headgears that you want, may it be for kawaiiness, showoff, your needs and etc. And, the cash shop hunts are also nice, which helps you to obtain cash points which is used to buy donation items. YES! You can obtain donation items from winning events or doing the hunts. (AFAIK, it will be fixed real soon!).

Economy:

The server, despite for being alive for 3 months already, the economy is okay though, what's really good with Woon Renewal is that the only currency here is zeny, there are no server coins that float around and what you get in events are just, cash points. Zeny is not that hard to obtain and not too easy as well, while the server has zeny sinkers, I guess the economy should be good enough or okay.

War of Emperium:

AFAIK (as far as I know) there are two guilds who are participating in WoE, the rest are PvM/Social and I don't know what really happened to the other 2 WoE guilds, they somehow disappeared or joined the other guild who were participating in WoE. There are WoE videos that you can watch to find out what happens in WoE itself.

Donation:

So far, the donation items are good, the gears won't ruin any gameplay here and there are usables for leveling, refining and etc.

Here are the individual guild reviews that I received from the guild itself, this can be found in our guild forums, but our forums is for private viewing.

Heyooo! I've not played RO in 4 years, and I'm greatly impressed by my comeback server, so here's my review on the mid-rate WoonRO Renewal server that I joined about 3 weeks ago! From what I can tell, it started out in August earlier this year and for a rather new server with a growing community, it's pretty awesome!

Staff Team: 9/10
In all my experience playing RO since 2003, and the multitude of private servers along the way, I have not experienced an amazing staff team as Woon's. The staff are friendly, helpful, prompt and humble. They socialize with the players when they're free, frequently host innovative events unique to each staff, and are quick to answer questions.

Community: 8/10
The community currently isn't very large nor is it really small, there is a constant flow of players especially in the main city of Prontera, and there is always chit-chatter going on about. Most players are friendly and helpful, some keep to themselves, overall the community has great dynamism. There are average 70 players most of the time, the lowest I've seen is 50-ish while it peaked at 90-ish. There are a fair number of guilds, and party-play is very encouraged, especially with the endgame custom content.

Rates: 9/10
Rates typical mid-rate server rates, it's not too fast nor too slow to level, maxing actually takes effort. Drop rates are reasonable, 0.01% items being at 0.75% makes cards and certain items remain rare and valuable, whilst MVP cards remain at 0.01% make it such that the server is not overflowing with them nor do they render the other cards useless, such that only the really lucky ones get to reap the rewards of owning one.

Content: 9/10
One thing I like about this server, is that the vanilla stuff stays vanilla, and custom content is completely separate. Nothing from the original RO content such as skills, dungeons, etc are modified in any way. Custom content include items, quests, and dungeons. The custom items are not overpowered and do not render original items useless but rather serve as alternative or novelty, the quests and events are interesting and have their own lore and backstory,  the dungeons are fun and party-play is heavily encouraged.

Economy: 7/10
There is no alternate currency, only Zeny, and is in high demand due to certain headgear quests requiring them. Zeny isn't too easy nor is it too difficult to farm, there is the traditional way of hunting, or doing quests that can be done once every 12 hours for a hefty Zeny reward. Vendors are the usual, selling equipment, materials and the like. Some sell it cheap, some are priced reasonably, and there are the usual overpricing merchants.

Donation: 8/10
Donation items are balanced, there is no donate-to-win nor is there donate-for-advantage, but merely serve as an easier way to obtain already obtainable items such are food and ores. Besides food and ores, there are costumes too, no equipment nor cards. Cash Points which are obtained via donating, can also be obtained by winning automated events, GM-hosted events or by completing a particular hunting quest.

War of Emperium: 7/10
WoE is held weekly and actively participated by several guilds, although given the current playerbase only 1 castle is opened at a time, and are rotated between different castles weekly. There are videos that can be searched on YouTube, so I'll let those speak for itself, other than that there's nothing much to mention.

Stability: 9/10
Server has amazing uptime, I have never experienced any prolonged downtime, and the maintenances are short and quick. As I'm playing with crappy internet compared to the rest of the world and lag is many online games, I'm surprised that I experience little to no lag while playing here, and it's smooth sailing almost all the time. Apparently there has been many futile attempts of DDoS attacks on the server, but it seems that this server has state-of-the-art protection against such attacks, and as such I have never experienced any crashes whatsoever.

Overall: 9/10
A balanced and fun mid-rate server that maintains originality and is unique, great staff and community that is ever-growing, and looks to be the coming of big things. There is no one-class-rules-all, every class is as playable as it is on official, no overpowered-ness and the like in terms of items and skills. Highly recommended, especially if you're into a server with an active community, party-play and engaging content.

Here's my review on WoonRO Renewal:

Server Stability and Availability
8/10

This RO server has been stable over the period of my gaming experience. There was only once that the server had disconnected. Nevertheless, the server might lag from time to time but it doesn't go on for a long time.

Community
7/10

As this server is fairly new, there aren't many players around (Less than 100). Therefore, the community seems to small but friendly. Despite that, it's gaining its momentum on expanding the player size.

The GMs are incredibly helpful and understanding. They can be found usually in Prontera to help others out. They will also broadcast to the whole server so that you will know which GMs are online during that time. There is also a service called @request where you can submit your enquiries in game.

Gameplay
10/10

Other than the normal RO gameplay, fixed events happen often. They have automated quests every hour which give cash points. Some other events are held by GMs from time to time. You can also do two quests - Hunting Mission and Hunting Quests. You will get a random amount of 4 different monsters to kill in order to gain zeny, exp and mission points from hunting mission. The mission points can be exchanged with usable items, costumes and misc. On the other hand, hunting quests enable you to get quick exp which requires you to hunt a specific amount of monster at a certain base level.

Customization
8/10

Custom quests. Custom headgears, custom events, custom costumes can be found in this server. The headgears itself aren't OP and it's more like a cosmetic purposes. Nevertheless, you can get it by obtaining relevant items in exchange for the headgears. The custom events do include some of the customize costumes and headgears as well.

War of Emperium
5/10

Nothing much for me to talk about as there are always the top WoE guilds that dominate the server. However,  this statement might be biased as I don't do WoE.

Donations
10/10

The donation items are those usable items (For leveling or refining) and normal equipments that changed from time to time. None of them are OP nor it will make you super strong.

Overall

WoonRo Renewal is one of the best server that I have tried. Nothing OP nor unbalanced, the GM team is always there to help and the friendly community is growing. The minor drawback for it are the lack of WoE competition and the lack of players.

Server Stability/Accessibility:
- Server Stability is moderate compared to most servers with repeated Server problems due to either Map Crash or Skill Bug either way

Server Community and Staff:
- Server Staff and Community for WoonRO Renewal (cause this is the only one i played not Reloaded) is very friendly, deals with problems efficiently and entertains the players with events at random times
- the Staff is very active compared to some servers i have played where the GM/Staff is usually missing/doesnt play/or just doesnt want to appear which tends problems to keep piling up without a quick solution whatsoever

Economy:
- Zeny is the Server's Main Currency since Events give the player a way to obtain Cash Points (cp)

Guild Competition:
- Havent Participated <-- Afraid to Try <--- No i am NOT D:< <-- Maybe D:

im so bad at writing reviews LOL

Zia

Totally missed this.

Thanks Nekoruchii for your guild's review. The server's grown a lot since you posted this and part of it's because of genuinely concerned and loyal players like you guys. /kis
