Deliverance Online

Since I left I don't feel the need to hide my identity. 

I started playing Deliverance Online over a year ago and it was a great server, still is to some extent.  A lot has changed though but they have done their best to deal with things.  Anyway, recently I was banned forum & ingame.  So why did this happen?  I wouldn't be making a fuss if I didn't 100% believe that banning me ingame was 100% unjustified.

Anyway this is how it all started.  This is the post I made on August 27th:

'Server Dying? Here's one explanation'

When new players join our server we give them a helping hand, not a slap in the face.

A brief introduction: An ex deliverance player traded their account with another player on iRO. The screenshots below show this old iRO/New deliverance player talking with a person selected at random. The conversation which you see below follows him/her asking for a brief introduction to the server. As you see, he is quick to take advantage of the situation.

After 10 minutes or so the topic was gone, so I thought something was strange.  So I made a topic exactly the same as this on RMS, put the link in my signature on Deliverance forums and then made another topic there on some discussion about security or what not.  But when I checked my controls I realised my original post was still there, so I immediatly deleted the RMS one.

Anyway, the following day I found out that my forum account banned and the GM has left a message in my security post.

'I banned the asshat you "reported" (Was it a report or a flame against the server? Hidden because we couldn't tell, to be honest.), and I'm banning you now for your sig. Your IP ain't so anonymous, friend.'



Well the sig could have easily been removed as it was only leading to a dead forum link anyway.  Although 'Each member is allowed one forum account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.' This is also a valid reason.

I was fine with that, but then I realised my ingame account was banned too?  For what reason?  Under the Deliverance Rules it says the following:

- No KSing (Kill Stealing, attacking a monster someone is fighting without their permission). This also applies to MVPs as well (If you die or warp back to town the MVP becomes free game. If you snap, backslide away, walk away etc. from the MVP, it is still rightfully yours so long as you remain on the screen). If you are nowhere to be seen, it is no longer rightfully yours. This also applies to Homunculi KSing players. Any Alchemist and/or Creator is responsible for what his/her Homunculus does. This server has no maps in which KSing is permitted.
- Mobs in Dead Branch arenas belong to whomever spawned them, even after they die. This ownership lasts 5 minutes of away time. Only after the room has been deserted 5 minutes (after which we can assume the owner has no intention of returning to kill the monsters) may the monsters become free for someone else.
- No cheating or bug abusing of any kind. If you're not sure it's a bug, report it anyway.
- No looting items from someone else.
- Botting will result in a big fat IP ban.
- AFK Levelling tricks that let you gain EXP or items while not at the computer (for example, involving Geographers or Autocast card combinations or Homunculi) of any kind are considered pseudobotting and will result in the same penalty as botting. If you do not respond within 60 seconds, you will be permanently banned. This does not include party leeching, which is OK.
- Chat windows in Prontera are to be placed on SIDEWALKS only!!!
- Dual Clienting (running two game clients) is strictly forbidden and bannable. Not even to buff oneself or a friend.
- You MUST report anyone you know is violating any of these rules.
- Do not pester GMs for special 'advantages', or they'll give you a special mute.
- Using any alt-code symbols in your char or guild name is unsupported by MySQL any problems with these characters are unsupported by the Deli team.
- Players are absolutely not to ask or accept to be raised (Except in Events), trained, healed or buffed by a GM. They may absolutely not accept items from a GM either, unless it is a specific administrator-approved restoration.
- NO spamming spells needlessly in town or any place highly populated, including songs or dances. Some people will lag from this.
- No spamming chat either, especially over broadcast. Similarly, if you're arguing over something or in a heated debate, try to keep it outside of a common area like Prontera or open a chatbox.
- To clarify the above: Do not spam the broadcaster (includes broadcasting similar messages without waiting a sensible amount of time, and broadcasting many messages that serve no purpose). Broadcasting for events is fine, though this cannot be used as a loophole
- Vending in Prontera and Alberta must only be done at the commerce center. The warper at the main square will warp you to the commerce center. Prontera's commerce center is neatly separated into four lines spanning Y-coordinates 275 to 300. Anyone outside those limits will be significantly penalized. If vending outside of Prontera or Alberta, no restrictions apply. Please read the Vending Warper's RULES option.
- No "trash talk" broadcasting.
- Do not log into 2 accounts at the same time.
- Banned players should wait out their bans, not play on other accounts.
- Be polite with people.
-PKing IS permitted. Get strong or get friends, and get revenge. It spices up PVP. HOWEVER, the PVP Arena (the indoors arena, not Izlude) is officially a NO-PK ZONE. While PKing and surprise may be allowed in Izlude and Guild Dungeons, any PKs committed in the PVP Arena (pvp_n_1-5.gat) are a punishable offense if screenshot evidence is provided. So anybody targeted or just plain weak may go duel there with no worries.

Where the hell is the justification for this?  I PMd him back saying that it was meant to be a constructive post and nothing more as indeed it was.  I had no qualms with any of the GMs or how the server was run.  Did he do this just to give himself good face? 

To make matters worse he also banned my friends account whom I happened to log onto a couple of times.

N:I PM'ed him and asked why my other account was banned, I mentioned you had access to it, and I said I'm unknowning to the fact if any illegal actions have been happening on there, he said you did something, and I just replyed asking why

N:Yeah, but I haven't checked the forums for a few hours, and just checked it then
N:Still gonna find out
N:And see if I can talk him out of it

But atleast he'll be getting it unbanned =)

I did tell him, but he has a point.  The GM giving him that warning only goes to show that he a) is wrong b) doesn't have the time c) has a God complex?

For any player wishing to join this server please note that the GM is, I quote, 'very inconsistent and does make a lot of questionable moves' and as for all servers be aware that some players will prey on you.

Oh of course.  It's such a fun server when the GMs don't do s***, you have to wait every 6 months for something to get updated.  It's boring as hell.  No wonder it radically decreased from 400+ players to a dismal 130-

I'm curious to hear what the Almighty Crono *bows* thinks about this. He is usually eager to add in some kind of nonsense. Or maybe he's past the point of caring because he knows his server is dying/dead.

[i just skimmed through your post since there was so much of it...]how in the world did you get someone to trade butterfly wings [out of all the other wings...] for a god item? iRO God items on there are BL and the server wings are not O.o [BL=$100, wings+premium acc=$10 last time i checked] lol such a rip off xD [all i have to say for now >.>]

edit: lol i see what youre getting at, i dont know why you got banned for it, but i guess the iRO person wasnt really informed about the eco here and the random player just so happened to take advantage of it. but yeah, no clue why you got banned, probably wouldve changed the title of your post to make it not look like you are attacking the server. but if it is indeed "living" then something like that wouldnt affect it, hence it wouldve stayed up there. so i guess that proves that deli is dying, how sad.
