This is an awesome server. over 250 custom items lots of original custom npcs! whats killing them right now is extremely low pop. thats why i rates guild and events low. Be sure to check Gro out! its better then alot of the ro's out ther

Now, lets see, I think ill start by introducing myself.

Im Mr.NiceGuy (yes like that song by the Killers xD) and i, like many other people, enjoy playing ragnarok online.  But i also had a hard time find a good sever with as less bullcrap as possible.

I had tried XileRo, Niktout, Jynx, Vanro, Qro, CCro, and a few others.  They were all good servers but one thing that made GeoRo stick out in my mind was the npcs.  They some s*** on there i have NEVER seen else where.  A few gambling npcs, a Second job class system (they are still working out how to dupe the skills for no item restrictions thought [for the past 8 months they have been working on that xD]), a battle arena and Quest system.  Hell, they even have rejected Gravities poor donkey Homunuli system and done their own!

let me go into detail at this point.

Battle Arena: Remember the good ol' days of FF7?  Think of that battle arena.  now picture it in a Ro server but with different items and monsters and what not.  Thats what this npc is like.  Kill monsters get battle points exchange them for rare and custom items.

Black Market:
They are still working on a custom Coin baised Black Market but when its made its going to be way cool.  I have seen some of the test npcs/finished ones and tested them.  I have to tell yeah, the guy the owns this server is clever.  While most server unbalance the hell out of themselves with a zeny market, hes using coins to keep people from hunting the gold room and then buying what ever in the market.

Quest System:
this is an ingenous npc.  12 levels of difficulty (and lvl restrictions).

each level has three types of quests. npc (go around looking and talking to npcs) item quests (get items to make a new item like those god item quests) and a monster quest (you go to a dungeon and kill a monster for a reward).

all quests give out Quest points some give out zeny and Zeny tickets (items redeemable for zeny) and items as well.

The Homunc system is just pure pwnage over Gravities.

They have these custom Human monster from CCS25 from Eathena's forums, but they have edited them a little.  They drop items like Soul Fragment and Vial of Blood which are use in the Homunc system.  You colledt these to get embryos and Philosophers stones and Yegg dew + seed of life.  The items have a script on them that sees if you have enough Yggs and seeds of life then spawns the Homunc BUT there is also a chance to FAIL the summon and spawn a Chimera that attacks you.

After a while youll only summon Chimeras and which point you talk to Hoenhiem (npc's name) and do the Fail Rate lowering Quest.  You can telll this was inspired by FMA huh? lol

the duel job system is interesting even though its not fully completed yet.  They have you at level 1000 talk to the npc if you want to rebirth to a novi.  and they give you an amulet with the name of your previous 2-2 job with all the skills from that class tree attached to it.  Then you can choose another job tree and have those skills also.  I like my High Wiz/Assassin cross >:D  But sadly :( some skills you cant use, like shield boomerang on a star gladiator, because of the need of a shild to use the skill, which is what they have been grappling with the past 8 months.

and I love the Bloody Branch Arena xD.  The map is a custom map and is not done yet due to Igun having problems with the models, or so i have read on the forums :o

So, thats for the npcs.

Now for the rest.

They have probably over 300 custom items and maybe 3/4ths of the items have custom sprites.  They just addedin 86 new headgear sprites! I was like WHOA!  They also have alot of Naruto gear, all of the Hokage hats and about 14 headbands from different villages and a Kakashi mask!  Wings abound also, they have about 28 wings i think, and they said there was about 12 to 30 more on the way.

there arnt many events due to the LOW LOW LOW population, same with the WoE.  Its not as competitive.

The server right now has Woe once a day from 12 to 1 weeksdays and 11 to 3 on the weekends i think  but i heard Geo saying last time he was on the server when i was that he was going to be having a morning night and afternoon Woe in the next couple weeks.


The server is up almost 24/7 except for when they are updating to Geo is restarting his computer.  The lack of having Geo on alot is kind of disheartening but he works 5 out of 7 days for most of the afternoon to late at night so its understandable.

The gms are freindly and Ghost cracks me up ALL the time.  They are helpful too.


The classes are for the most part balanced, there are a few custom items that will unbalance a char but thats to be expected.

They also have custom pets that are again, from CSS25's human mobs.  I heard Geo was going to be making custom pets sometime soon though.

Again right now all thats killing this server is the low population.  not sure why that is though.  might be some old players like Elias (yes i remember you) who joined didnt understand what they were getting in to.  I noticed alot of lazy people saying, give me items plx and if the Gms didnt they would just leave so i would have to guess since Geo's motto is nothing comes easy is what might be driving peple away xD.  dunno.

One thing i really like about this serveris that they have Gunsling and Ninja fully implemented with most if not all the skills working!  And they even have slight edits to the existing eathena npcs that make then uber!  like custom warps in the Warper npc.


This server is a little laggy at times but i dont mind it that much.  Usually its fine unless Geo is downloading something for the website or server.

Geo recently changed the stats so Ill post em here:

Max level is 1000
max stats is 500
max hp and sp is 20 mil

1k base and job xp


I plan to stay on this server thats what i can say for sure.  Its awesome in so many was over most of the servers i played on before this one.  I do hope to see some more people come to it though >.< we really need a pop boost bad!

well, thought it was time for a status update on the happenings of GeoRo.

first though, if some of you have seen the dead servers thread, GeoRo is still alive, they were having some difficulties with their connection in September and were down quite a lot (for them anyway).

anywho, Seems like the Admin of GeoRo is planing one hell of an update.  As seen on their forums, they are going from version 1.7 to 2.0 with this update and its supposed to have some sort of custom classes (i think they said about 60 to 80 in all, one for each dual trans class combination).  I guess they say that these will complete the dual class system that they have had since around march of '05 and have solved the requirement issues for such skills like shield boomerang so that non-shield wearing classes can use it.  And also weapons for these classes, though how you would get them they have not said yet.

They have also hinted at new content for some of the npc systems, like new quests, new battle arenas and that they would be getting the rest of their custom head gears in and possibly finishing their coin based black market (i still think that is an awesome achievement, though i have seen some lazy players leave because it was too 'hard' for them to understand how it worked/to get the coins needed. ::))

Only down side is that this update is going to take them till probably the end of October, or so Geo says.  But for what is in it, i think its going to be worth the wait.

and on the note of dead servers... anyone else notice it seems like a nuke hit the Ro server community?  servers seem to be dropping left and right recently.

was surprised that Niktout just closed like that, I used to play on there and while it wasnt all that good, it was still just good enough to keep me on it for a while.

butyeah, GRO is looking to get quit interesting, though their population is still low xD, they have gained a few new members and i have seen upwards of 13 players on recently, but its really spotty, 11 one day 3 max the next then 13 on the next day.

Anywho, I have some new info for you all!

Seems like GeoRo is releasing their 2.0 Beta today, very large update.

Custom classes:
Lord Knight and High Priest class blocks:

total of at least 30 classes (that one surprised me, 30 new classes O_o)


Their Custom Homunc system for non-Alch and Creator classes has been fixed AND they are getting around to making the creator/alch npc.

New login music

New Human Mobs/Pets

Raised their rates to 10k/10.5k as an event for the release and will be raising the rates to 7k/7.5k permanently.

They fixed a few things also:

they re-added their custom hair styles
fixed a few spawn issues with their custom homunc system
Re-added the Bloody Branch Arena and tweaked the monsters a bit.


They said that they will be releasing the new client installer later today, around 3 to 4 MST (GMT -7).

Not sure how those new classes play as they took the test server down before I could jump on and try them.

the homunc system (non alch/creator) however i have used.

It s actually very nice, a hell of a lot better then the official.

You get some items, and an embryo. They embryo is usable, so you can put it on your hotbar.

And after a random number of uses you spawn a Chimera, this raises your Failure Rate, and as the fail rate gets higher, you summon more chimeras till you hit 100%, then you have to do a quest to get it lowered so you can use the homunc.

they also have an upgrading quest for that system.

the only problem about it is that the homunc as summoned with i think @summon so they leave after a while.

I an interested in the mvp homuncs for the official system though, I saw Geo walking around with an Anubis a few months ago.


But yeah, looks like they are working hard to make their server better.

Oh, and a last tid bit of info that I heard.

It seems that they are going to be making a few changes to make the game more balanced, they got rid of the God quest npc and are going to change thanato's card effect and lower Ice pick's effect. 

Looks like GeoRo is going to just keep on plugging along xD even with the low pop.

GeoRo 2.0 Beta 3 releasing on friday


Its that time again  ;)

time for an update on whats happening at GeoRo :D

REcently Geo reviled the third and final beta for GeoRo 2.0.  I nearly ****ed myself.  according to what he posted they are supposed to have at least 140 custom classes!

He posted a list of them on the forums.  cant say im not excited to get on and try them on friday (though the dual job quest is kind of an annoyance. xD).

also, GeoRo has had a small population increase! (i mean small like 6 players xD) but its better then one at all eh?   I think GeoRo is starting to get on the up and up.


As far as i know, they are still having issues with the more recent version of Eathena (weird errors and bugs that prevent the custom classes from working) but that they will try and update from their 11468 version when they release the non-beta 2.0.


now that I think of it, these classes are going to add tons or new playing styles to ro *getting more excited bout em by the hour*.  anyway as i always say, we need more players! :O

hope to see some of you on the server too!

GeoRo 2.0 Non-Beta to be released on Friday April 18th
yup, update time again  ::)

from review thread to update thread <.<  then again, i guess i am kinda reviewing the new content xD.



anyway, I have had time to look at some of the new classes they added in mid-march.  There are a few weird issues (like hp totally crapping out on some of the classes, and some accounts aren't getting skills when they get changed) but overall the transition was smooth.

There are classes that do not work however, about 20 out of the original 140.  Geo had mentioned this was due to the way he did some of th classes in the server coding, and he hasnt been able to fix it yet.

So, as for the update.  GeoRo 2.0 is nearing its official release, yup end of the beta content.

Though Geo has not said if any of the issues from beta 3 will be resolved in the full release of 2.0, I am sure that at least the skill issue will.  Geo had said something about an npc to fix the problem on the forums.


As far as I know, 2.0 releases this Friday.

So far the only thing I have found that will be added are Peco Peco mounts for the Lord Knight and Paladin classes and an updated npc for the skill issue.

There is likely to be more, but Geo hasnt posted anything about it yet.

Thats all I know of right now.  if something big turns up before friday ill update this again, otherwise, just check the GeoRo forums for more/new info.

wow, it has been a long time since there has been anything to post.

but hark, i see new seas on the horizon.

Yup, time for a Gro update.

In truth I thought the server was dead.  Hasent had any population on it.  but I decided to go on it and check out how it was doing and found Geo and some other GM's on.

Seems like they are going to be making Gro more like an official server.  Less levels, less stats and balanced to begesus and back.


They said the new rates were going to make it so that people actually can attack other people now, before after like level 500 you were invincable less you had some high powered TCG gear.

no more. 

base level is capped at 400 now, stats only go to 350.

they will be testing like crazy to balance the server properly.

I dont know how this might help em out, but their a very under appreciated server for all that they have accomplished. 

im just hoping for some population to finally get on 8)

That FF7 battle Arena sounds great. If I wasn't so busy developing for my own server, I would probably join it just to see that in action.

well, its been quite a while since I last posted.

In truth Gro was more then half dead there for a while, but Geo is back, and is not pulling any punches.

I recently got back on to the server after fixing my client from getting errors all the time (Geo i guess had updated the server  past the version of the GeoRo 2.0 exe could handle) and found out some interesting stuff.

They finally have all of their classes working, almost 100% (except for one i think).  So there are 139 classes to be explored probably more to come once Ea gets their act together and gets the triple trans classes in. their custom job changer will be able to use the native jobchange script command now since they fixed up stuff server side, before, due to something geo didnt go into, it was causing the jobchange commands to pick out the wrong job id's; for instance if you got changed into a Holy Assassin (pala + sinx) you'd actually get turned into a Master Assassin (LK + sinx).  Geo said that was because something was wrong with the way they were coded but didnt go into anymore detail.

A trip to the forums confirmed the above info.

And a lot more.


They finally moved everything over to a web host (website wise) and got their Neoncube working again.  Supposedly the installers will now only be like 25 to 30 MBs instead of 130 since the grf is going to be downloaded and updated by neoncube.


Geo posted that today they will be releasing the GeoRo 2.1 client, from what was said in the post they had to add more stuff client side for the new skill window.  As such only the LK Hp and HW class blocks will be able to use skills.

I also hear that they got their Clown/Gypsy classes to behave traditionally (like the actual clown/gyp classes do) which is cool, they were having crazy problems with those classes before.



On their web host, their home page is awesome, who ever made it, kudos to them.  Looks like to me that its a flash site.  should check it out: http://www.lmpgames.com   for just the gro site replace the www with georo.

As of now it doesnt seem like the installer is out yet (clicked on the download link but got a 404 error page) but the install guide is, so its coming.  

I lake the way the gro site is layed out now, opposed to the recent incarnation that they had.  This one seems more elemental almost, a bit more natural.

but anyway, lol, georo still has a low population :O hopefully that will all change soon though.

here we are once again,  ::)  yup I havent left gro yet, I have a lot of loyalty to that server, despite the deadness of it now xD.

Geo released a new update today, wasn't expecting a new one for quite a while actually.

up to Version 2.2 now and there are quite a few things to report/review.

First off is their installer, Geo finally got it looking semi-good with a custom pic on there, but thats small fry for this update.

They also finally replaced their POS neoncube patcher, with something I think is much more suitable (Thor).  Its actually pretty nice, it randomly plays stuff from your BGM folder and it is also a fairly fast patcher.


So, after getting it installed and updated and opening and closing the pathcer several tens of times <.< I checked the change log only to find a new file for the updates.  Seems like Geo was busy kicking bug donkey this time around.

Lots of fixes:

8 Dual Classes had sprite issues, they are now fixed

another 6 had no palette files or they were misnamed

they also fixed all of the SG classes, they were using the Flying sg sprites for the longest time, now they are using the normal ones.

They finally for all of the skills to the classes  ;D

And got all the classes added to the NPc that does that part of the system (they call it Nether Realm Diviner).

I also read on their forums that Geo did some work on the battle arena so it works a bit better.  Have not tried it yet myself so I cant comment on if those changes actually did help.

Geo also announced that they have more games coming to their networks:

Lineage 2 Rangarok (this one is already in open beta)
GCabal (later this month for this ones open beta)
GGunz (Open beta on the 16th)

But anyway thats a bit off topic XD.


OH and they upgraded their server hardware:

so, in the x amount of time I have been on the server I think I should re-rate it basied on what I am seeing now:

Stability: 9 <-- hasent changed since the day I first started playing
Availability: 9 <-- same as above
Friendliness: 8 <-- down a few due to jackass players moving in from time to time
Eventfulness: 2 <-- no population
Friendliness: 10 <-- still the same
Availability: 10 <-- always able to reach Geo or Ghost via email or msn when they are not in-game so still the same
Helpfulness: 10  <-- still the same mostly maybe -1 for gravity errors due to player mistakes that Geo cant fix
Economy: 8 <-- no population so hard to tell, ill just leave it there
Guild Competition: 0 <- no pop lol
Class Balance: 10! <--- this was the only one that raised, because they got the DC's very balanced against the rest of the official ones


so there you have it community is kind of lacking but everything else I would rate about the same.
