LimitRO Review

Ok so i started playing on this server around mid-February. So at least you are hearing from a 3 month old player who was attracted to play for these reasons:
1. recommended by a friend
2. RENEWAL (pretty vague for others... the 3rd job stuff)
3. main objective: kRO like

For some reasons i have read the other reviews so i hope its ok if i copy their format.. its quite handy (from a LuminaRO review)

*i am aware this server has a pretty bad rep here lol but as i can see things had changed since it differs from my experience. but let me get my review done..tee hee..

LimitRO
Stability --6.5/10
not because it is very unstable but because it is implementing all the things from renewal. Many would be unacquainted with these things but what i mean here is this server is implementing everything being implemented on kRO.
Examples: Spiral pierce can now be used with two-handed swords and atk+weight now influences it. Before atk don't affect its damage. This is what is happening on main servers. kRO the bread and butter of ragnarok online.

So its pretty semi-stable. But not to the point that you are not playing anymore. lol.

Which btw the normal people in-game : 1200+ and mostly are not bots, because i have never encountered one even on the rarest of the maps still people respond to me. tee hee

Availability-- 9/10
The server is almost always available. And on fridays they have a maintenance which is pretty cool. What they do is work hard on changing the pre-renewal things to at most up to date plus we (players who cares, an a considerable number of them) forum on updates found on iro and kro then we discuss, and unless proven to be very legit formula the Admin implements on fridays.

Community--9/10
9 is quite high you may ask. But i swear to God this has the coolest community. Why? A lot are really friendly and unfriendly. Lol. And that's what makes it a game a balance yin and yang. But i think more funny people.

Wait there's more.

The Woe is awesome. Probably the coolest. Players stumble from here and there and showcasing weird skills since renewal is renwal not all are acquainted with all the class. And a lot of guilds are participating and trying to destroy this some kind of triad of competition between LOVEBEAT, MAFAKAS AND REMNANTS. sORRY for being particular but these are the three major guilds and many are uprising which gives the challenge. And every after woe people are shouting they had fun. And i did too.

Sincerely a lot of funny people.

The only con are the scammers.. but i blame those unwise to be thinking thoroughly so they were scammed but it still its a flaw but these things are just normal on any games. Right?

Eventfulness--5/10
Epic fail on these. Except the poring coin that happens every hour, and other events. Currentlythere is this screenshot event that a winner will receive premium.

So since i mentioned premium let me tell you the benefits:
1. You can shout. everyone will hear but is balanced since they pay 50k each shout and has a cooldown.
2. de-card (one of the cool things, but i criticize of not being kRO like of course) but since its renewal you dont know what to buy so you experiment instead of buying all you decard. For me i won't waste a penny for a premium i ask my premm friends to decard for me. Some abuse this for a scam

but fear NOT: the admins seem to have chat logs + trade logs so scammers often gets what they deserve. of course be smart and always take screenies. GM's are quite active on reports on forums.

Game master--7/10
So this is the hard part since Lai our main GM has a very bad rep. And its a common thing to say these and i found it on players mouths. "Oh crap what the hell is wrong with Lai". Same goes to me. But i suddenly realize I was wrong after I read iro forums.

So what the heck? LimitRO changes which i hardly accepted before were of course on gray areas of my mind but since i found out that these changes are kRO and thus legit, wow that amuses me to have a free server, and kRO like with a decent or a lot for a private server's population.

But why 7? They are pretty online for like once a day and for a short period of time. But the GM team are quite growing i think.

The thing is @ forums they rock when someone report about bug abuse or scam or hack. Which i am a victim and they responded which pinched my heart for the warm treatment. lol


Economy--?
I don't know how to comment on these. But seriously naming price like ori, elu and then stating prices and comparing them to other server is pretty broken. These things should be based on drop rates. So how is our drop rates? its x50 of almost everything on RMS.

Maybe i'll just explain what is rich and not.

Having 50m is a normal decent player that can do something on woe and on pvp. Its not that super hard but not that easy to be something.

For my 3 months of play my net worth is around 130m and my most expensive thing that i sold was a victorious coronet for 75m. Slotting chance of a spiky band [1] is 5% plus you pay 2m..the item required to make one.


Guild Competition--10/10.
That is what I'm talking about the woe. We got 3 edition woe's and people vote for the time. And so far many our contented with the woe times. I never felt this kRO or legit RO like feeling on other servers so why not try this become a decent player and WOE!!

plus we are using the new emperium used on kro. In which no matter what you do your dmg is 1. So you need aspd. But aspd is nerfed so its not easy to reach 193 (the aspd limit on kRO now) or even 190. you'll understand when you read IRO forums or when you play limitRO. lol

Class balance - 8/10
Of course every class defends his class and wants the other nerfed. lol. I'd be a hypocrite saying everything is balanced. I just want my review to be so natural and realistic and not bounded to make the admin of limitro be famous or rich.

here is the deal.
1. currently royal guards are owning pvp on 1 on 1 basis what i mean is a decent player versus a decent. But this is happening on kRO and seriously gravity is to be blamed here lol. Of course asura strike is still the highest damage dealer but many skills on 3rd job can counter it. That sounds pretty balance.
2. the not so LK's are somehow quite mainstreams when they turned Rune Knights (RK) and they do much better than royal guards on woe having a lot of aoe skills.
3. Its a like a paper rock scissors game with additional tactician skills, so what i mean is it is balance. decent party vs decent party, luck, skills, timing and coordination decides the winner.


Overall : For me i can't say its the best server since I haven't tried others using renewal mechanics. But so far in terms of being renewal/KRo current like, its a +1 to limitRO and +1 to Lai for redeeming his rep hahahaha.

Pros:
If the pros would be about server issues blah blah. What makes an mmorpg an mmorpg are the players. You may hate our Lai but sometimes you will love him but then you will love the community. there are russians here, latinos there, asians, americans. Aw i really love the server except some lag issues but doesn't ruin my gaming at a very high or even mid level since its but normal for my ISP haha.

Cons:
Lai is like an iron fist type of admin but sometimes he is cool. One time i violated for pubing at the wrong spot but he gave me a warning haha i was not put into prison. which by the way is his way of giving punishments to non-followers of rules.

Why I Like This server:
Nothing beats a server that is full of people. Its not the people alone but the way competition are here and there, the trollings, the on sum1 u killed and sum1 that killed you and then you retaliate with your friends.


play limit-ro so instead of being separated we unite into a huge community which by the way already is and together we help the admins that suck sometimes (but only Lai maybe). I think this servers population is really a kick donkey. And seriously i haven't met a bot. I really am so happy last february when we are peaking 2100 for two weeks but suddenly it went down because people QQed for aspd nerf, added by their hate to LAI but omfg if only i had a time to explain to them that it is essential because it is what kRO did on theirs.

oh snap! just play it which by the way my in game name is my forum name so I can guide you through.

Right now I am leading a team that helps noobs in game. We usually go to novice grounds and pub there. Hahahaha..

omg i edited thispost after reading some about how bad this server is about donation and premium.

Ok here is my point i am not premium and i own people in game and im happy on woe.

The only thing that really is payable by money. Is to be premium or to pay for donation headgears.

Prem= decard, shouting, stylist, other cool stuff but is reachable by other players through good friendship haha. So i can say i have access on these.
Donate Headgears= i can say this is a bit OP and yes i think but not that much. Since dp headgears are plus 15% damge compared to baphomet horns which have 12% damage and +atk. tee hee. If you see this as overly over powered its ok. But i really am not having problems. I even feel better killing donators hahahaha.


people change i think Lai also.. but i don't really care cause i am strong and happy and active even not being a premium or a donate helm user that does not really is too different from baphomet horns.hehe

I, for one, am not in agreeance with most that has been said here. Like said before, I have replayed LimitRO since my review last year, and it was still trashy and crap. The only reason it's popular is because Lai was one of the first to put in the imbalanced, incomplete 3rd jobs. He'd still be at 300 players otherwise.

3rd classes are incomplete. They have not been properly emulated, and Gravity is still sorting out how to balance skills so Guillotine Cross isn't uber, or that x class isn't easily destroyed. Third jobs should be balanced and complete in a year I reckon, but certainly not now, or even when Lai first put the 3rd jobs in his server.

They are incomplete because they are still being tested for bugs and balancing issues. 3rd jobs are overpowered and certain MVPs don't require parties anymore / some maps don't require parties because 3rd jobs were boosted so high. PvE and MvP was semi-destroyed by the 3rd jobs. Some servers have fixed this by disallowing 3rd job skills on MvP maps, but in my knowledge, LimitRO allows it.

Gravity messed up, too, but Lai just adds onto it. S'all.

There may be some good things, as listed in my review, but the negatives outweight the positives. The server isn't 100% trash. Just 80% trash, and of the 15% of positive stuff that's in it, you can find on any other server.

Also, I'm not single. Keep dreaming :]

I agree with your statement about association, but you have to understand that Lai has pretty much dug his own grave, as well. Even though you personally may not be him, supporting his server would give others a reason to completely debunk your kind words regarding LimitRO.

I never said the community was f*** up; I said it was terrible. People randomly spam you in PM and will call you noob for no reason. You can be sitting in Prontera, never done WoE or PvP, and someone will PM you with "fcking noob." Really now. Who wants to play somewhere where they're harrassed for no reason? Not to mention when you hit a monster before someone else and they call you a KS'er or something harsher (generally).

Of MY experience, lRO's community is 80% trolls and ties with another server for first place in the jackass category. If they're not busy licking Lai's shoes, they're trolling someone.

Of course, there's always the two or three good people. I don't know why they would play in a troll server, but they do, and I guess they deserve a cookie?

Community =/= competition...

Limit RO is the type of server with people that yes, if you're good you can get in a decent guild and make a few friends, but you could make a new character under a different name and ask for help and be told to f off.

Its so cool haha since we have  a high population so its kind of needy. I also love our new database that helps a lot since rms's database are kind of not applicable since we are using renewal mechanics with new monster attributes and stuff.. so if you wanna see the changed monster attributes you can use limitro's database.

plus i just finished woeing today so i planned putting some screenies. it was a bit laggy though. Hope you are inspired seeing new and weird skills hehe for those who haven't seen yet.

This is a 2nd edition woe and two mardol castles are being fought I'M WITH THIS GUILD CALLED "HORIZON" ALLIED WITH THREE OTHER GUILDS.. errr we are something on the server but not part of the giant three. (the lovebeat alliance, remnants alliance and the mafakas) [im just happy naming them]

First screenie
As you can see there is me with my storm blast rune and just killed a sura but its body is gone when i got the screenie. lol the "x" emblem is our allies "xanadu" guild. on the top part the whitish emblem is a part of remnants and the being owned ranger is from mafakas (or they call themselves mofos). Our alliance is currently attacking this castle that is currently owned by the remnants.

Second Screenie
To give you an idea of which castle it is i took a screenie before entering the castle. That small guy over there is my friend sept who is a premium member. He is small but it has nothing to do with the game only for aesthetics purposes. And he is just using typical items like feathers beret just like those on the first screenie.

yay we managed to got the castle and now we are defending it here.. this is not the last minute of the show so its not really that action packed haha.

so this is what happened we are not expecting that we will win the castle but the thing is mafakas who owns the other castle provoked remnants to them but remnants did they're best but the defence of mofos are really uber. So it turned out that remnants at the end of the day lost their castle haha. The only ones attacking us are the mediocre alliances like us too but then it was not enough. FYI breaking emp is kRO mechanics since you can only damage it by 1 and has a lot of hp. Unlike before that  a minute is not enough. But the thing is you can't sanctuary emps now.. Just a parcel of info..


oh you might ask why is love beat  not around, its because todays woe is not really a priority.. and i can say that lovebeat is the top guild on the server. their priorities are first edition woe. Hehe.

So as part of my review all i can say is no one will be left out woeing and will feel useless cause really the 3rd job thing has a lot to do and can even match up with high end items so its basically the skills of players that matters here.. Im really lagging seriously atm and i hated it. But its my ISP is so crappy. But then some people are shouting and ranting about lag. So i guess its server issues.

So again for woe experience w/ lots of people for limitro its a 9/10 ^^

the lag today is like 5/10 damn! bad isp + server issues= total wreckage so its really a 5.

at the end of the day i still enjoyed it so im now back to farming my runes. i lost almost 200 stormblast runes for this woe damn thats a total waste. But im happy i think my kill count is around 40 something. ^^
