It often happens, and you should email the server owner about this.

If you can, get someone that can write good english, as "y u do dis i dont do wrong" is something most server owners think of as stupidness from the banned botter/scammers side.

Also it could be that you won't get unbanned, because if you do, that botter/scammer will just make new accounts and continue scamming.

Your best choice is to talk to the botter/scammer, and if he says he'll still do it, beat him up or something.

I'm very sorry this had to happen to you, mimack. But in most cases with scammers, if the IP matches the range you fall into, you're one of the unlucky parties that ends up with an IP ban even if you did nothing wrong. It's the biggest fault of playing in an Internet Cafe. Provided you did nothing wrong, of course...you seem to have the classic "scammer" post that we see on RMS very often.

Also, you should plead your case to the staff of ForsakenRO. There's really nothing we at RMS can do about it.

yC

I think this is hard to find any proof except the fact that he is banned.

It is the server's decision on banning the IP or the account, we can't help with anything in such situation.  You might want to try to explain to the GMs and see if they can investigate further in your case.

If there's nothing else, we will have to junk or lock this because it is a player issue that we can't help with.

PiReS7

You should try to let the owner of the computer shop contact the staff of ForsakenRo.

mimack

im posting a ticket on the forum of forsaken ro reporting to the gms what happend on my acount. but the admin said he cannot unbann me. im asking them why they ban me. i did not do anything wrong. every day im posting a new topic but the admin always ban my acount on the forsaken-ro forum, so i have to make a new account so i can post a new topic again. but gm genesis(admin) always did the same thing, banning my new account. he dont want me to explain further.

LemonCrosswalk

Well, RMS cannot unban you. But by the sound of things you're harassing them now. If you keep making new accounts and posting the same thing over and over will not help you become unbanned. It will just make the admins more frustrated with you.

mimack

im posting a new topic cause im asking why they cant unbann me, they are not explaining why they cannot.

The more you continue to annoy them, the less the likelihood that they will listen to what you have to say.

Get it...?

Celeste

Just go to another server. :)

Waste of time. Won't help.

mimack

so thers nothing i can do?  :(

SilverStream~

If you ask the computer cafe manager, you may be able to get a computer that runs on it's own proxy, and make a new users, without saying anything or complaining about your old user, because it will get you banned again most likely.

Unfortunately this happens quite often. Because there's no real method of siphoning out the true scammer in such cases, everyone on the same IP usually gets hit with the same punishment. As someone else stated, that's a disadvantage of playing at a Net Cafe. We've had a few of these cases on my current server as well as previous servers I've played. The saying "One bad apple spoils the bunch" definitely holds true.

Although it may not help your cause, perhaps the owner of the server will change his mind if the owner of the net cafe were to contact him. I had an instance where this happened recently and I asked the net cafe owner to send a signed letter via post. Their staff now monitor all their players on an hourly basis to ensure there's no illicit activities happening on their computers and we communicate regularly for updates. That one particular net cafe is host to about twenty of my community's active players, so if your server owner's willing to go the extra mile and put in additional effort, perhaps a solution could be found. :)

Good luck either way!

LemonCrosswalk

I have a better solution. You're in a net cafe. Find he guy playing on the same server that made you get banned and kick his donkey since it's his fault and not the GM's.

Here's an idea. Stop playing in Net Cafes and get your own PC.

SilverStream~

You can open your own net cafe too.  That way you can sit in the back playing ro, while making money from other people playing games, and if someone scams and gets your ip(s) banned you ban him from the cafe.

Hey, there's a good one.

He can also probably be the first cafe to discourage those kind of practices.

@descent, regarding his/her post about the thread starter just having to buy a new computer -

erm, people living in developing countries like mine cannot always afford that. To some of my countrymen, a pc is worth 3 months of nonstop work without spending anything for anything else. PLease give some consideration to the more marginalised sector of the world's population. Some of my people can afford nothing but renting PCs in cafes to get away from real life's problems.

I am a Filipino, someone who lives and grew up in the Republic of the Philippines.

Fantastic. Not my problem.

You take a valid risk playing in an Internet Cafe, regardless. So let me get this straight, a PC is worth 3 months of nonstop work, yet they spend countless hours in Internet Cafes................

An hour of play in a filipino internet cafe costs 20 US cents on the average +/- 5 cents .Playing 5 hrs in a day, 30 days a month will then cost 30$. For 3 months, it will cost approx $90. An average computer over here costs more than $400. Do the math.

The point here Descent is that you first have to be more sensitive about other people living in other places. Do not post advice which are not feasible, or you will just be wasting calories by needlessly moving your fingers across the keyboard.

And if it is not your problem, please refrain from talking about it.

The time you spend in an internet cafe could be used to save up money/parttime job.. probably, idk.

I just did. Now how's this for math?

Swear off RO for that same amount of time and swear off Net Cafes and you'll have an extra 90$ to put towards a computer. At five months, that's $360USD. Let's increase that and say that a kid plays 10hours a day in a NetCafe. That makes $180 a month. Three months = new PC with money to spare. I'm guessing the concept of saving whatever money you have is lost on you.

Not as unfeasible as it sounds, is it? The best things don't come easy, so saying that it's "not feasible" is pretty much saying "it's too hard". Don't give me that nonsense.

yC

err i think we provided enough possible solutions or alternatives.  This thread really belong nowhere except the Forsaken RO forum and I sure hope the OP can get this matter resolved or find happiness elsewhere in the world of RO.  Locking.
