Patching failed would show a pop-up with a bunch of question marks, completed shows that.

If it failed, then get a patcher. If the latter, exit.

I could be wrong, I haven't patched in forever(mainly cause I don't play)

That looks out of date.
Try downloading these files and extracting them with winrar

If you need sakray download

If you need kRO download

These files are updated together and were last updated on the 12th of February 2009

Once you download the files you need, run Ragnarok.exe to Patch kRO or Sakray.exe for Sakray patching.
