ScytheRO, The Best Super High Rate Server?

Trolling is just trolling, it doesn't help anything.  Speaking in general here, if anything, it just makes things worse when people who have nothing to do with the conversation try to throw in their two cents worth.  I've seen this many times, and if yo don't believe me just check the reports and appeals forum on the Scythe board.  Random people who have nothing to do with why someone was banned want to throw in their two cents, even though it says at the top of the forum in big bold red letters specifically NOT to do things like that.  The reason is, it never helps the situation when people who weren't involved try to inject their thoughts and opinions on something they'd be better off just watching from the side-lines or ignoring entirely.  But then again, even if it's in big bold red letters at the top of the forum, you still can't get through to some people that they shouldn't do things like that.  It simply starts more arguments.

Right, I came back becuase a friend told me you said soemthing to me, so I suppose I should explain what I mean by trolling trollers. I don't always inject myself into a problem I'm not a part of, but mainly what I do is try and pick a fight with the person aiming to fight so that they'll focus in on me and leave everyone else alone.

EX: Once when playing Diablo 2 a person showed up and started picking on everyone. She was level 71, we were level 20 to 30 in range. She started swearing, hunting us, and using 3rd party programs to track us. The moderators weren't comming yet, and a few told us to get lost (One of the people knew some of the staff, Diablo 2 doesn't really have any moderators aside from that.). Problem was, the moderators that were going to respond ironically lost internet (Yes, my luck is THAT bad.). Taking it upon myself, I start verbally fighting with the person and intentionally negating everything she said with "facts," some were true, msot were false, but all managed to get her so angry she literally used the third party program she had to figure out where I was, and where I was going and waited for ONE WHOLE HOUR swearing, nagging, and hissing at me over the chat why everyone else not only managed to get past her becuase she was too busy trying to get back at me, but they also managed to jump up about 15 levels and get some level 99 friends of theirs. I was quite shocked when I found out she had been waiting 2 areas ahead of me, but even more shocked to find out she was so pissed off she couldn't even kill me (probably shaking like mad) and I was able to escape alive. Immediately the level 99 players jumped in the portal I made and slaughtered her. My trolling ended her trolling and she was so pissed she vanished after swearing at me in capslock immediately after being killed.

That happened just last year. True story, and I've got tons more like it. Trolling trollers only works in certain ways assuming you do it right and don't go prodding your nose into other people's business constantly. I've trolled trollers many times, and haven't really ever lost yet. Most of the time I've even come out a moderator for it (don't ask, I seriously don't know what the admin were thinking.). Either way though, please PM me if you wish to say soemthing to me, most liekly I wont reply on here unless someone else alerts me to it.

Anyway, if I may I'd like to make my detailed review of ScytheRO ^^;.

Well, pretty much why I chose ScytheRO was not really because it was the "best super high rate server", but I wanted to try a decent SHR with a good drop rate and economy, a big population, and mostly what the fuss was all about this private server.
I guess I'll just get straight to the point o_O.

Pros

- Good Economy and drop rates, a feat for a Super High Rate Server.

- Community is pretty awesome, with the exception of the little kiddies that have fancy wings tend to ignore the "poor", as well as the same old disease of big servers having idiots running about that lack common sense ("WHERE DU I BUY ARROWS LOL?!!?").

- GMs and er, I guess as you call them Interns were friendly AND mature (omg no wai), sumholiguy48 or how his name went, he was my fave Intern, he's pretty fit for his job as a staff member o_O and fun to talk to. Those people that go "omgar GMs are so unfriendly, bad server" are full of bs when it comes to describing GMs here, ScytheRO is probably one of few PServers out there that have a mature staff around....

- Customization of the server, good job with how organized you've made your server Zairik!
It must've taken alot of work implementing all those NPCs and shiz, as well as how well done the quests are, I never had time to finish getting any of the custom items quests though .
and Def +20 for status boosts with the customs are quite a good balanced boost for your server, although personally I'd like customs with some mag def here and there.

- No zealot donors running amok on ScytheRO, hooray for the gods of logic, for they have shined their light on sRO, great to see an admin who realizes how overpowered donation items is a big no no to any balanced RO server.

Cons

- The Rebirth feature on ScytheRO I never really approved of....still don't. Yes although it's no walk in the park to be able to reset your level with your previous stat points in place, it still doesn't change the fact it ruins the whole point of having characters have builds in RO itself.

- "Disabled Cards" while some were understandable....I cried when I saw Bacsojin was disabled, too harsh for the priests....too harsh...I didn't see any reason why you would remove something that only gives Sanctuary a boost, as well as heal, max you could get is 3 bacsojins anyway, and their increased sp consumption drawback somewhat balanced the card. Er, anyway, I think it may be more creative/resourceful to make different yet useful effects on the cards so they are still something to strive for and a good piece for the economy.

- Custom dungeons were a huge letdown on me...mabye I had too high expectations, I was thinking more along the lines of seeing dungeons that were more about partying (aka Thanatos style quests) rather than seeing high end chars soloing and farming from all the MVPs in the boss dungeon. The monsters themselves I found not so unique, Barely any skills in the regular mobs, high flee = no threat from the mob, MVPs were tough, but they wern't too far away to be able to be soloed.

Uhm...I r Confuzzled

- Although I did not WoE, one of the main guild members showed me what the mechanics in WoE was like. It was...weird, it was definately new and fresh for sure, but...the concept of having the dmg go at such high levels that you could 1-2 hit anything, it was quite boggling for me.

- Class Balance was like..."oh hey, this looks slightly different from what RO is like....so what was so unique about class balance here again?", I didn't see much difference of nerfed or more powered classes between anything...although I heard sacrifice and asura was nerfed alot, asura I didn't know why exactly...sacri, understandable I guess. Still, I see no real big difference of what was changed alot, and what wasn't

- Some other modifications to the cards boggled me some more...why was cards like matyr that gave the +10% sp boost replaced with agi +1? and so forth

Would you vote for ScytheRO?: you're talking to someone who doesn't even vote for his own RO server o_o.

Is ScytheRO really the best Super High Rate Server posted on RMS?: Hah! There's no such thing as the best! Most advertised super high rate in RMS? Yes. Good server? I thought it was pretty good o.o. But no, otherwise if you're saying if ScytheRO is top rank out of any Super High Rate server that has been listed here, I'd have to say...I dunno, I haven't played every server out there to make that judgment o_O.

Eh...that concludes my review....sorry if you don't like the way I made it, I'm not good at making uh, reviews, hope this was good enough feedback on your server Zairik...

I didn't like it because most jobs are capped, and some wrongly capped. People who like to use certain skills don't have them there.

well what really got me pist here was the community.  mainly the pvp community.

they team so much, which generally doesn't phase me much.  but when they PM you or just say to your face that suck, or you're a noob, it really tick's me off.  hmmm they call you a noob when they have to team you with 5 or more people, that seems a bit off to me...

another thing is when i played a few month's ago, i rarely saw any GM's, and the ones i did see were either unresponsive, or just plain rude/disrespectful.  my brother tells me they have helpers on frequently now, which is good.

  from what i hear form my brother, nothing seems to have changed with the economy.  it still sucks, with 5% drops selling for well over ten mil.  i mean come on people. its 5%, that what? 15 minutes of farming?  use common sense when pricing, dont be a greedy little f*ck.

  another thing is the difficulty for getting money.  now im normally not one to b*tch about this sorta thing, but unless you already have money for edp with a sinx, or a soul linker/SG, killing enough chest dropping guardians for the money to get rebirthed takes hour's.  i play super high rates to get lvled quickly, geared decently withing a few day's of farming, and get right into pvp action.  not to sit around for 2-3hours pummeling retarded guardian's for one rebirth, let alone 3.

  the lack not-retarded looking customs for quests really got me too.  having such low rates, i expected to see some worthwhile quests.  instead i found some unsatisfying retard wing's and and hats, and a buncha of super awesome items... as donations only...  if even just 5 of these item's were used as quest's similar to the succuus wing's quest, it would be good.  i never really bothered with the coin quest's, it really didnt seem worth it.  i heard though, that some gay-to-goodish custom's could be acquired form it, but its just not worth that kinda work. (killing monster's who drop coins, just so you can make a different coin to buy some gay-to-goodish stuff with)

overall what i really think needs to be changed(aside form GM attitude if its still a problem), is the community attitude, the communities lack of common sense when pricing items, the communities bad attitude in pvp, and the lack of worthwhile questable item's.

besides that zairik, i think you did a pretty good job.  especially with the balancing of the server.

i might actually try it out again to see if anythings changed, and to play with my bro.

You mean capped - has delays correct? Perhaps they're just making people use the kiel cards.

No I don't mean capped.
There ARE Missing skills in certain jobs.
There are also caps in dmg where the equipment reduction to those capped atacks is calculated from the cap and not from total dmg.
There's also 1337 more caps/removals that take away all the RO fun.

But that's just me, I don't intend to interfere, just answearing to the topic.

Indeed, a soul linker pvping with Esma, and such skills, would be imbalanced by far.
However, that is what melee is for, as well as Kaite.
Star Gladiators are by far the most over powered, cause they wouldn't even need to attack you, you get near them and you are dead.

I liked this server, I had 3 triplets and the nice gms allowed us to keep the names without fooling anyone.
Their names were "Angells" and we found many ways to write it like with capital I's that appeared to look like l's in the game.

It's quite fun and easy to lvl, I didn't stick to it because my computer corrupted but I might come back soon. Great server
