Wings.

Indeed.

When every single shop is stuffed into Prontera.

Oh the bloody lag from so many vendors/chats, and whats worse when alot of them are 99, and all the sparkly effects really tax the CPU.

-What also really burns me is some servers having a "Item Mall" ingame that has NPCs that sell MvP and Monster drops, slotted and non slotted equipments and items..I mean what the hell, where the sense of accomplishment D:

~What Pleases me~
-No Healers/Buffers
-No Job Change NPCs
-No Stat Reset that resets for a nominal fee, Id rather have a long arsed quest that takes hours to do to reset stats (If you mess up your screwed in a sense:3)
-No Skill reset NPC~Nuff said
-GMs that actully have common sense and no how to speak.

Heh, I dont mind somethings, but making things TOO easy is a bore.

Yeah, not having to do the really tedious, poorly-translated and awkward job change quests is so boring.
Not having to sit in town waiting to naturally regen or shelling out cash to get healed at an out-of-the-way inn is boring.
Not being able to fix your mistakes or fine-tune a build from PvM to PvP/WoE is a bore.

God forbid having fun in a video game.

I actually agree with Alek and so do others. A lot of people only choose pServers because leveling in the official is so long; heck, if the official server was 50/50/20, I'd be playing there, monthly payment or not. I was on a server two years ago at 66/66/33 rates and it was exactly like the official - only the rates differed. It closed because Gravity interfered (it was hosted in France); we capped 300 at War of Emperium, so it wasn't "fail" at all. The HR was barely customized and capped 1200~1700 players.

The server I play now is the closest to the official I have found in two years; it's too bad it has a Healer and a Resetter. I don't mind Job Changer so much (as long as you can't cross-class on rebirth) but Healer puts too much of an advantage on Champions and Resetters make it too easy to level a 99/70 Whitesmith you're supposed to work for in the first place; +10% advantage over the NPC Refiner is meant to be something you work hard for / get leached for, rather than "Ohps, STR/AGI and then Reset(!) DEX/LUK". Buffers are probably the worst, only inferior to Resetters - oh! Not to mention a Card Remover, the Economy Ruining God.

So yeah, +1 to everything Alek said.

Gankz

I further agree with Alek, which is why I'm gonna play vRO. I find that resetters REALLY screw with the game, and just make things retarded. To the argument of "fine tuning your build", there are tons of char sims out there and we even have the *ghasp* RMS TEST SERVER! I know I though it was just for super high rate 500/255 server f*** too! A good player will spend his/her time leveling and spending actual time as a non transcendent to gather their gears and enjoy party leveling. Leveling is supposed to be an accomplishment, not something that is just handed to you so you can pvp. I have played on iRO, and it yes, has its benefits, but I don't have too many friends there, nor is it easy to get highly geared friends as you're looked down upon till 89 trans, so its not like i'll be bought levels to 99, therefor I have to spend either lots of real money on battle manuals, or spend months grinding just to get to trans. With official like private servers, especially something I like about vRO, are ones where you don't have donations where you don't have to donate to be good, or hell, you can't even donate to get any sort of edge except maybe a cool looking headgear. If you want to play the game as it is intended to be played, go for a low rate server, not one of these lvl past 99/third class on pre-renewal mechanics/super wing s*** servers.

Now on topic...Wings that take up 3 cells to each side of you, auras that make it hard to even see your character, and servers that let you pass 99/70 really irk me.

You mean someone actully agreees with me for once..Hell must have frozen over o.o!

Give Oracle RO a Try ^^, Its a good server, nothing ZOMG1337HAX there. ^.^

~On Topic~
Yes, I like the way offical RO is set up, cept it takes over 2 years to go from 1/1novi to 99/50  T1/1 to T99/70. Going Past it..What the heck..RO Made you THINK on your builds, no resetting (Less Paid for lol). Its a Social game.. I dont even think Gravitys Auras were that bad either, They were alittle more conservative. Wings=Pointless. If I want wings ill go get me glitter and cut me out some wings from paper and make them all shiny and stick them to my back..

And on iRO, You know it was a accomplishment to Transcend, and even more one to get 99/70. Its still just as hard on Private servers only slightly easier due to the increased rates. Id still feel very accomplished on something that gave 5x EXP and Jexp to trans and reach 99/70. Wheres the fun in being able to reach it which in only a matter swings of a blade or cast of a spell. There no fun in being able to Solo MvPs, when they were intended to be PARTY bosses, per se. You know its a sense of accomplishment if you cna defeat a MvP, well one of the more difficult ones.

You may hear me complain time to time about leveling being slow, but int eh end I stow it up my donkey, suck it in and grind like there no tommorrow. But LR servers FTW

fluidin

Honestly, servers with no resetters might have served a point in the past; forcing people to grind A LOT if they wanted a full support or pure build.

It doesn't even matter now though, with anubis, nameless and thors. Anyone can be leeched to 99 at blistering speeds, even on lowrates.

Job changers are a convenience, nothing much.

FREE healers/buffers (w/o a time limit), I disagree with. Although one should note that the inn is always there for a 5k per full HP/SP.

XileRo is the only HR I know that has a reasonable PvP system. I did watch the RWC like you said, all I see is people spamming the room like every other gang fight there is in RO.

True, but a lot of people don't know about the Inn unless someone says something / they read it somewhere.
