not really sure if anthem RO is good or not.
but if i was picking a good server other than Lumina, it would not be anthem.
my searching paramenter is solid servers, with a stable admin, like heRO-pandora, for example, however I never tested it.

Pretty sure the aRO admin is one of the most stable ones out there. Even though they're in big financial trouble, he still keeps up the server and (so he says) even sold his car. Stubborn (for staying on Aegis so long), but cares for his server.

Chances are if you have to ask, you probably know the answer to that. Just their donation page is scary  -_-

Would depend.  AnthemRO has alot of ups and down.  One thing that scares all these ratemyserver users would be the donations and the customs.
The customs and donations actually make the game pretty fun for me.  Thing is that a good number of it's players have high tier gears and
for a new player who doesn't want to donate, it could take 1-2 years just to get close to there.  Maybe once the switch to eAthena is finally
made there will be new things added that can fix this gap or other things.

Yeah pretty much this. I played on Anthem back when it was animaRO for something like 2 or 3 years. In that time I never manged to get anywhere in game because everything was so balanced towards you already donating 100 dollars for kaho's horns and other things like that. I joined Talon as soon as it started and manged to get a fully geared high priest within a few months.

Its sad to say but it almost seems like they don't intend to do anything new with the server. The website is almost exactly the same as it was 5 years ago. The forum is the same. They still use Aegis (apparently they are working on a transfer) and because of it updates are extremely far behind.
If you're already established, Anthem is a great server with friendly players. I wouldn't recommend trying to start out on that server now though unless you intend to do some serious donating since there isn't any other real way to get those things on that server.

Joining anthem at this point is probably a bad idea, most of the players are there because they've donated, they've played for ages already or they have a lot of friends that have probably donated/been there for ages. If you join now chances are you won't like it.

Personally I can't stand anthemRO and wish it didn't exist to suck up the RO players, luckily it took a lot of baddies

Pretty much what the above people said too. I have given the server a try, I really have, but it's just full of disappointments.

Joining anthem as a new player is probably the worst idea, ever. Server is completely ruled by donations. Without donating at least $100, you'll have to spend a good 1-2 years to even be slightly competitive. Some people may start saying "but you can easily niff the money!". Sure, but to niff that money (if you enjoy an overpopulated, extremely laggy map), you first need niff gears worth tens/hundreds of millions. 90% of the "normal" gear that you can farm is pretty much useless in competitive environments like PvP and WoE. Without a Kaho, MVP Cards and/or SQIs, you don't stand a chance.
To me it's a mystery why people still join that server when they have so many better alternatives.

The server is very outdated. It may say episode 11.3 or 12.1 or something, but they are missing most of the drops and exp from those episodes, so it's kinda useless to hunt there. Makes me wonder why they implemented that in the first place...
Player suggestions take forever. It may take years (I'm not exaggerating) till something simple is finally implemented. SQI change discussions take up years as well.

The community seems to be completely blind as well. Extremely simple updates that take about 15 minutes of work are like a godsend to them and the GMs are being worshiped for all the "awesome work" they do. Big events are almost non-existent, unless you want to call the "great (a player actually said that)" easter event an event. They had some slightly bigger events last year, which completely messed up the economy. People got hundreds/thousands of OCAs, which ended up being sold for approx. 60k. Another money making method for newbies blown to pieces, yahoo!

It's kinda like Orange said, most people only play there because they either donated or been there for ages and use it as a way to stay in touch with their friends. Cause honestly, for whatever other reason could one be playing anthem? Everything it has, an other server has as well, except that the other servers have it better.

With the recent donation issues, the server is starting to turn into a high rate server for donators more and more. They basically have @warp in a clip, a @storage clip and many more silly things that just don't belong on a low rate server. They're working on converting to eathena, but makes me wonder if they will be able to make it in time with the current money issues. Only time will tell, I guess.

I have to agree with this.  AnthemRO isn't really that great of a server for a new player to join at.  Hopefully by switiching to eAthena the server would
be able to be updated more easily and the GMs could finally do some changes to the server so that this changes.

Did you even play on Anthem? Because it just seems to me like you played on Anima and not Anthem. All you seem to do now is lurk the forums for information. Correct? The website is the same, because they wanted to give it an "anima" feel for when players came back during the transition. The forums are the "default" of simple machines forum software lol. Anyone could install those forums, and that's what the default package looks like.

Not much changed since Anima tho. A new GM team, half-done episode update, custom battlegrounds and a few tiny updates. Did I miss anything?

Attempt to switch to eA? I think the way things are run are a lot different. The OP items which the old corrupt GMs had put in were removed. GMs are more reviewed so that corruption and all that fun stuff doesn't happen anymore? More interaction with the players on what THEY want in episodes/mechanics/etc? Involving them a lot more in server decisions? Responses in suggestions unlike before? People leaving, giving more items to others, more items and things circulating in the server, which actually makes it somewhat easier? Price changes so that regular cards are all $1 in lieu of the old $10 that Anima was charging?

There were a lot of things which changed, but the point is that he didn't really play Anthem in order to determine anything.
