Hello everyone I'd like to invite all of you to give feedback on an idea me and my friends have come up with and are trying to make a reality.

This idea is PvP perfection without any effort for the player.

How we are going to go about doing it

The server will ideally take less than 30min to make a fully geared 99/70 transcendant char, the server will be based entirely on pvp, gvg, and woe.

There will be no monsters and no way to get to monsters, therefore no bots, you are able to get every single item that the other players are able to get, therefore no incentive to dupe.

There will be no way to trade, storeage, or vend the items you have.  Therefore it is impossible for people to trade items if they manage to dupe them or for GMs to give out items.

The way this works is you are given a set amount of zeny on character creation and a item mall that sells almost every consumable, equip, and card will exist.  Better items will cost more zeny.

But the main reason I'm making this is because I want to know what every single one of you thinks about this, I want all idea, criticisms, and thoughts about this server idea.  If me and my friends like your ideas it'll be implemented and due credit will be given.

it sounds interesting if you could get the item pricing right, so the set amount of zeny is their 'build' so to speak. like buying a mvp card is possible but the rest of their equip would suck :D sounds very hard to balance though.

that sounds unspeakably dumb.

First, the players that stick with a serve and make it last are the grinders.  Grinders are those players who honestly and deeply enjoy going through a dungeon for hours and hours gathering items and levels.  They like watching mobs spawn, only to be killed.  They love gathering quests.  They are the reason maple story has clobbered RO. 

Second, you system, as described, does not account for respecing, which is critical in PVP.  Adapting to your opponents strengths and weaknesses is what separates guild leader from, well, everyone else.  Unless you are providing enough money to buy half a dozen of every item in the game, you will have rampant multi accounting, as ppl respec by starting char over and over.  If you are providing that much money, you need to be... i can't say that here, but it would be very painful. 

Also, i give your server a player life of about a week, before ppl get bored (player life is how long a player stays on server before leaving to another server or another game).  Most RO players will get bored with relentless, nonstop PVP.  If they wanted that, they would be playing Halo, Ogame, or any of the dozens of first person shooters out there.  They are playing RO, which means they like occasional PVP. 

The most dangerous thing a GM can do is to play NPC combatants as if they have brains, goals, and the desire to remain alive.

First off have either of you played a high rate 99/70 server before?
The ones that still exist are ZNRO and Frozenglade the server idea is trying to take the concept those are based on one step further.

After discussion on the boards we have decided to make basic pvp and woe gear free and non-basic gear be anywhere from 50-100z.  Acid Bomb bottles and EDP bottles will most likely be around 50-100z as well, white pots will most likely be free.  And we will be puting a no-pot pvp room in as well

When you make the char and get the zeny it would most likely be around 1,000.

This isnt a low rate server, this server is aimed for people that enjoy doing Ragnarok PvP and WoE without having to waste time on the boring PvM (player v. monster) aspect. 

I'm sorry but if you rely on a reset npc in PvP then you are garbage, and the time it takes to make a char is so little that you can make a new "adapted" character in a matter of minutes.

If you are talking about changing equips based on your opponent, you will be able to get basic PvP gear for sure and most likely all the cards that you need in pvp however they won't be in good equips or you can have the awesome equips with the basic pvp cards in it. 

A feature we plan on scripting is whenever you kill someone in pvp or woe you and your party members get some zeny the actualy formula we plan on using will be fairly complicated so if you are interested in reading about it check out the forums linked in the first post

To be honest I dont care if a player comes plays for a couple weeks and gives up because they can't win in pvp or get bored with it, but I know from experiance that there is a considerable amount of people that only play this game for the PvP and the WoE. 

You are wrong there is a huge differance between FPS and RPG PvP FPS are primarily based on reaction speed, where as RPG PvP is more about predicting your opponent and thinking of stratagies to counter theirs. 

If you think that people who play MMOs don't like PvP you are sadly mistaken, PvP is a HUGE factor in Shadowbane, Lineage 2, Age of Conan, and Guild Wars and those games have dedicated players.

Actually...the way that you need zeny to build up sounds quite interesting, it almost makes RO kinda arcade-like :P. Only thing I'd see that you could try is expanding WoE and PvP to keep players into the server after awhile. Other than that, this is probably the first other Super High Rate around that I've ever seen with an actual decent idea to make things entertaining, instead of the same old spam-fests and mindless farming Super High Rates seem to only make.

Note: You should probably disable overcharge/discount and make all items sell for the same buying price. It allows you to adjust your build without having to make from scratch a new card. Free resetters and uncarders would help this further, unless you'd rather have people create a new char for every different combination they would want to try.

You could add monsters to the game for variety, they would obviously yield no exp and no drops.

One thing you have to worry about is how do you deal with consumer classes? Most notable, Alchemists rely in consuming ingredients, they need to constantly save zeny and invest. One possible solution I see is to make it so using these skills give you back the zeny that the ingredients costed (no unlimited bottles, and no running out of zeny from buying only bottles). However I am not sure how you'd want to address zeny-consumption skills like mammonite or Zeny-nage.

All in all, it sounds like an idea worth pursuing, but it will probably be a lot harder to pull off than you reckon.

For creator bottles and edps we will most likely sell the ingrediants for free and sell made bottles for a price, also one of the key aspects we are trying to implement is a zeny gain when you kill another player or a party member does
So that as long as you kill people in pvp you and your party will be gaining zeny.

yea unfortuntly we will have to disable discount/overcharge/vending on merchants which is kinda crappy but a necissary evil.

We are planning to add a room with monsters with one custom monser inside that will drop a bloody branch so people who want to try their luck with PvM can do so but our priority is the balance for zeny costs.

We will most likely have free reset npc and free decarder, I thought I mentioned a reset npc but I may not have.
