  Every emblem you obtain from this thread that is posted by me is most probably in PNG file format hosted by Imageshack. Thus you need to convert it to BMP before it can be used. --------------------Request Submission Form--------------------

1] Name Of Your Guild
2] Any unique design you might like
3] Whether your guild's initials are to be included.
4] Provide a workable Picture, try to avoid JPEG image if possible, because from experience, they tend to be poor in quality. PNG makes the best. (DO READ Sub-category 'Realistic Request'!!!!)


--------------------Realistic Request--------------------

Ok, I am not trying to be strict here and make things easier for me, I believe that creativity is at it's best when there's no boundaries. But I also believe that taking up a request from a person that wants the picture of Santa Claus in the middle, and his reindeer by the left, a candy bag to his right, and finally your family photo at the background is... ...retarded.

It's like making a picture out of 24x24 Lego blocks. If you seriously get down and try to do it, you will understand how difficult it is to make very huge defined pictures with color blocks. I am no Magician, I like you, is restrained to physical restrictions.

Here is a good example, a nice picture with low definition but still clear:

(this picture is 111x118  Width x Height)

But to maintain the clarity and size of the picture, i can either,
1) Crop out a 24x24 portion for best definition (enlarging the picture will create a un-defined edge)
2) Crop out around 50x50 for larger display area of the picture and then minimize to 24x24, resulting in lower quality
3) Directly minimize it to 24x24 if your guild name is 'YouCan'tSeeWhat'sMyEmblem'

Ignore the last option... But here's the result after i crop certain portion of the picture to make it a balance between option 1 & 2 (28x28 crop and then minimized to 24x24):

P.S. notice how small a portion the 24x24 picture i cropped out is, compared to that already small picture? Anything larger being cropped out would have been blurry. I don't even think I can make an emblem out of the whole of his gun.

I hope this has given you a clearer idea of what's possible and what's not very possible to be projected in an emblem.


--------------------Updates--------------------

As of 16 March 2008, all files that used to be hosted by photobucket have been shifted to ImageShack as Photobucket seem to have irregular file compression that alters the color pixels of the emblems thus causing some errors. So the downside of things here is, Imageshack can only save the file as png (you need a bmp file format to make it work in RO), so you have to convert it yourself using paint or a file converter, when i am able to find one, i will post the link here.

As of 17 March 2008, I have included a link for the picture file converter, download it at your own risk! If the converter isn't working, please leave me a PM or something so i can find another one, sorry i wasn't able to test it.
(This link has been deleted due to security reason, and I figured everyone has Paint at home. 28 March 2008)

As of 28 March 2008, all emblems that isn't working properly that has been hosted on photobucket has been deleted so that people would not download it unconsciously.

As of 26 April 2008, added a new guideline call Realistic Request.

As of 31 May 2008, Implemented Open Source Archive, where I will be slowly accumulating Emblems into a huge archive.

As of 4 June 2008, implemented Activeness Level at the top so you can expect how fast your emblems would be delivered. Updated As frequently as daily if there's any changes.

As of 11 June 2008, 'Tutorials And Guides' section has been put up simply for the sake of expanding the usefulness of this thread. 'File Conversion' sub-category has been moved to the new 'Tutorials And Guides' section.

Simple Tutorials And Guides


--------------------Inserting your guild emblems into game--------------------

[1] Locate your Ragnarok folder. (By default, it's C:/Program Files/Gravity/RO)

[2] Inside your Ragnarok folder where you find all your Ragnarok files example Ragnarok.exe, right click on an empty space of the folder, and select new>>Folder.

[3] Name the newly created folder 'emblem'

[4] Now you can place any of your Ragnarok Online Emblems in and use them in-game!

Notes: Emblems should be in 'bmp' file format and 24x24pixels(width x height) to be usable in-game. Some servers also require you to pump a 'guild skill'(something like Guild's Glory) before you can display any guild emblems.


--------------------File Conversion--------------------

Run Paint or Adobe Photoshop. Simply open up the emblem you have downloaded, and select the option 'save as' and select bmp file from the File Type drop bar option. Also, save the file as -windows 24bit- for Photoshop, and -24bit Bitmap (*.bmp,*dib)- for Paint.

I have met with a few problems, since no picture was provided in advance, i searched around and i couldn't find a suitable 'small dragon' the fact that the emblem is already a mini 24X24 pixels, a smaller dragon would just appear as a 'blur' on the emblem. I hope you would understand that.

Sorry i can't meet your expectations.

Have you tried putting it on in-game yet? The end result is about what appears in-game, not what you see right now xD

And you mentioned about a headphone, but i don't see a headphone on your emblem D:

well its acutally pretty simple i guess...... my guild that i was in had wonderful leaders and all just they didn't have the best emblem XD

so i was wondering if u would be willing to tweak it a lil bit and all......

Oh, this would pose a really big challenge, i suppose this guy actually painted the pinkish part before minimizing, thus when loaded in-game, it has pinkish outlines am i right?

This would require a lot of re-outlining, it'd be best if i can have the original 'star' picture though. Am working on it now^^

Erm, it's not really easy to put all those into a 24X24 pixels, if you actually open up your paint and create a 24X24 pixels art, all you see in there are boxes of color pixels. What you provided me are high detail wallpapers, that if minimize, it would look totally different from what you see right now.

Well, i am not all-talk-no-try, i gave a go at the green wallpaper you provided and the technical result was bad, because there isn't really a specific area that stands out where i can crop it into an emblem.

You can also request anonymity, whereby I will not reveal your guild's emblem to anyone else on this site, thus i would just send you the copy. But I request that you post a comment that you've receive and acknowledge the work done^^

Guild: Special Forces
Customization: More or an army theme (Like a mix of green and black, mabe alittle brown if it looks good.)
Guild Initals: Instead of SF id like Elite to be put in it XD (If its too big you can do SF, the initals just look bad together ;P)

and you can just post the emblem here, if someone wants to take it, its your work so I cant stop them :)

I'm not saying that you aren't good - you're okay I guess but atleast make your own; don't find them and edit them

That is lame as hell.

& don't try to tell me you didn't ; I've seen tons of these way before the posts.

If anyone wants PROFESSIONAL QUALITY EMBLEMS; hit me up <3

ALSO; judging by your crap - you use photoshop on emblems?

Only use paint. Make backgrounds in photoshop; edit in paint; trust me.

You need to put on your first post that no stupid requests will be taken, that they will be ignored.

Don't request things that are to hard.
You have to remember that there is only
24x24 pixels in a Ragnarok Online emblem.

There is no reason to be requesting something like that.

It's fine if you come to me with a request even when you know how to make an emblem yourself, so long as you don't tell me that your emblem pwns mine, because you're just wasting the time i spent to help you while i could spend it on helping someone else.

Yes, i googled pictures to make the emblems but i don't think it's wrong, i don't think it'd end up worse. Its true i do not have the photoshop skill to make my own picture, but what i seek is not a complete self made emblem, what i seek is the end result of the emblem being appealing, it's very simple.

I respect what others want and i do my best to accomplish the task that's handed upon me. Thank you for your tips, i appreciate the effort to help me. Ok, off to the next request.

Hmm, am sorry, but i have to say this, it's technically impossible to put something like that into a 24x24, even considering just the red&blue part, it is also a little over sized. I would love to work on that lovely insignia but i can't seem to find a way to re-create/make it visible. =(

Haha, i have seen that picture before, i tried to make it into an emblem but it kinda looks bad because the greyish dragon is:
1) too long, can't show the whole of it in a 24x24 if u want a clear view of the dragon
2) too slim, doesn't look like a dragon after i compress it into a 24x24(even when i crop only part of it) =(

I will see what i can do though. would try my best.

I am running out of patience with you. The color i used ARE transparent. Don't take me for a fool cause i know what i am doing. ALL the emblems i did were tested by me myself before release. I do not need to read a single word from your guide or take up your tips. The very reason why i do not use paint is because i like to be more organized, thus i use layer options from Photoshop which i also personally preferred.

I come here not to compete on who's better, i came here to learn and improve myself at the same time volunteer on taking emblem requests for people who have trouble with making their own.

Please do not use my thread to take up your on personal request, go open your own thread. Now if you would excuse me, i would go find out if Photobucket actually f*** up my ff00ff color pixels.

Ok it's been officially confirmed, photobucket DID screwed up my pixels due to some irregular photo compressions upon uploading. and gonna switch over to image shack in future. i will also be re hosting all the old emblems i did that were screwed up, and all users will be notified via PM.

I don't recommend cutting edges of portrait type emblems, i usually do that only for graphic/zoomed-in/focused type backgrounds. so i didn't use any transparents here.

On a technical terms, Photoshop is as good as paint, just that it has more functionality and better organization. so i don't see how your logic of Paint being more useful can actually hold water. Moreover, i do not have that attitude of me-is-pro-and-i-will-show-you. Unlike you, am not here to win some praises, i am here to help. we obviously have different goals, and different techniques, and different level of modesty.

I really do wish to make friends with you to learn, but i guess our objective and insight is too varied. I hope you would be more considerate with your words in this thread, where i open my heart to provide a community service at the expense of hardcore 'morale downers' like you.

Thanks for the tip about saving the file as bmp, it nearly slipped me. will add a  FAQ on that tomorrow.

Behemoth
The following is a crop from the original picture. The size of the crop was 55x55, and i resized it to 24x24.

As you can see, even a 55x55 part of the picture (which is a small portion) can actually fill up the whole emblem after i tried my best at resizing without distorting the whole picture. Anyways, the first picture you provided has a size of 500x200. i Used the first picture because the second one wont fit either, thus i picked something of better pixel-definition and crop a smaller portion of the entire thing to produce a better looking picture.

i Hope you understand my difficulties, i really do wish to help you =) If you happen to have a new idea or a smaller(but clearer) picture, i'd be glad to help you out again^^

If you go back into this thread, you would find 2 others(as much as i could remember) asking for a dragon emblem, and the closest i ever gotten was FairyTookYourCastle's red dragon, with the head zoomed in and already filling up the whole of the 24x24 emblem. you might want to reconsider that request.

Wow that was exactl what I wanted haha Thanks man. I was wondering if you would be willing to take a bigger request. Making a signature. I would want it to say Ezekiel and the design to look kinda like the emblem you made me. I would like a sniper or Sin x on it as well. Maybe for the color a purple and black or green and black. I don't Know you can take it from there. And maybe ad this quote from a song I know, "As your falling down, My heart beats the same".  Its up to you if you want to or not. Thanks, Ezekiel

I am sorry but something like that certainly isn't very possible Mark. You see, a sword is a really difficult object to construct in a 24x24 pixel emblem. Here is the result of what happens to your sword, even after i already cropped 1/3 of it(was 86x86 after i cropped it, the definition is very high), and then minimized.

You need to have a clear idea of what you want, do you still want the emp? do you still want the red slash? do you still want the black background? if yes, then theres no space for me to work on, if no to either one of it, what do you still want in the emblem and what not? i can't add anything at all this way.

Apparently i can't, theres only 3 ways to do that,

1) Shift the gun southwards ( As you can see, its already at the edge of the emblem, theres no more space unless i cut the gun )

2) Minimize the gun so theres space to move southwards ( The gun is already blur enough, i don't think we want that )

3) Change the angle of the gun by turning it into a more horizontal position ( I have already done that in the emblem due to extreme space limitation, as you can see from it's angle, anything more might not end up like a cross, it might look like they are pointing at each other instead )

I meant the first emblem you know the † put "The Cross" in the middle if it fits but if not just put "TC"

I tried my best to do the resizing work. I have enlarge it's height and set it's width to 24pixels so its at it's largest in the ragnarok emblem. The height has been enlarge disproportionately to prevent it from looking too tiny, originally 8 pixels only (now 14). I must say, this wing is a little too huge.

Also with that, i want an angel wing on one side and another angel wing on the other. the backround added with some rays of light coming from a corner or from the middle.

Yes i want the initials. HOPE i want it somewhere in the corners or starting at one end of the cross to the other. vertical or horizontal

oh yeah one more thing...

There is too much details to be able to be included in a 24x24 pixel emblem. just like the first request, it's physically impossible. you have to scale down on the details. in my opinion, the cross and angel wings is really hard to put together, beyond my ability, or maybe even impossible.

Picture Details: Just a cross would be nice. I don't want the cross to be touching the outer walls.
The cross would be a golden yellow color. And the background will be fiery flame red.
It would be cool if you could add some effects to the cross and flames. If you can't thats okay.

I have a suggestion, though you can feel free to ignore it, as it doesn't have something to do with the making of emblems in themselves. xD It might be a nice thing to also post a picture of how it should look in game - in other words, have one with the pink-purple removed from the emblem. It shouldn't take longer than an additional second or so.

However, as I said, it has nothing to do with the actual making of the thread, and it is more of a pleasant added service for those who might want the emblem re-adjusted. ^^;

Other than that, it seems you're doing pretty well with making them. =D Good work!

Well, it's a pity i can't actually crop the phoenix out because the pixels were really really badly minimized already. can't make out where the edges are. usually if i crop such an image, the thing will look out of shape. Sorry man, tried me best.

Hello Veirt, I am considering about closing this thread soon due to some real life work load, am holding on for as long as I can, heck I don't know when am gonna stop. Gone are the days when i can response to requests in 30mins.

I could probably offer assistance, if I put photo shop on my main computer, as all of my photo-shop based work is done on a laptop that I use for more proffessional purposes. =P All the same, I won't bother giving any assistance unless Teddy requests a helping hand, or completely retires. Design details: The only design details I was given was for it to have a purple theme. Details of the details in the picture part of the request. =P
Initials: Yes, they'd like to have the letter P implemented somewhere.
Picture: They actually have a 24x24 picture for you to use. o.o The only problem is the theme matter. They want the dog to be changed from pink into a dark purple. Not sure if you can do this. n_n; I gave it a try, and I did a poor job from my own perspective, so I thought I'd see if you had any better luck.

They'd also like the dog and the P initial to be the only thing in the emblem, so making the background transparent was also requested, though that's not exactly the hard part. =P

I want to request for a guild emblem with the following desc.

Guild Name: Legions of Liars
Color: Black + Red or Dark Red. Whatever you think suits.
With initials (You don't have to if you think its better).
Picture(s): A devil's tail (Doesn't have to be neat, even if its pixelated)

They have been in png all the while. I also stated that on the first post. Since RMS doesn't allow upload of bmp and imageshack converts it to png as well.

I don't think i can, the background of the tail is white by default, and through many minimization, it has becomed pretty undefined. If i were to change the white background to yellow, u will see grey-white outline on the tail.

Usually, swords are considered one of the more defined pictures that are almost impossible to be displayed in an 24x24 emblem. if you had really read the guidelines on the first post, you should have of understood more of what is possible and what not. And unless the object you had is huge enough to fill at least 9x7 pixels(but that would mean the characters covers everything of that object), i can't put the alphabets FL in it.

I am willing to help you but i am not able to deliver that request under the few reasons:

1] sword won't be clear
2] FL won't be able to be filled in the hilt
3] if i zoom in on the hilt till i get enough space for the characters, it would mean only projecting 1/3 the sword.
4] After minimizing an object, i would say it's impossible to crop the image out from the background because the pixels would be distorted by then.

i meant have the letters on the blade itself. the hilt could be "plain" looking. the sword doesnt have to be "clear". but yeah..if anything, do whatever you can. i've just seen emblems with swords before which is why i thought it was possible. thanks.

It's not possible on any part of the sword. the minimize result was 2x10 for the blade even. A sword is possible only when it doesn't show 'all' of it. It could be my ability, but i have downloaded and tried.

This is the result of just cropping the hilt area. Imagine if i were to crop the entire sword, the image would be very small and unclear. I understand your desires, but there's a major restraint on my side for that image and my capabilities.

I can work further on it with my best if you still want that particular image.

hmm. ic. is it possible for you to crop out the sword from the example 1 picture, turn it around to point to the floor? and possibly make it "wider"? if thats not possible, then ill just take the emblem you've already made. thanks.

Pictures are made up of color blocks. It is not 3d, thus i can't rotate it's angle. I will complete that picture later.

I have a life, I got a schedule. Yet I am putting in lots of efforts in maintaining a thread. Sometimes people praise me for the work, I know I didn't reply, but i was really happy. I just didn't want the page to get too long and I don't want to +post count unnecessarily. I think my passion is timed up. I won't be taking anymore request. Am gonna send a PM to Riotblade/YC, and close this thread. Thanks for all those who have supported me in the past. And To hell with those ignorant [email protected] like the one above.

I do believe it is a lot of effort and time put into this thread from Teddy helping strangers in making emblems.  I thank you for your hard work in helping the community.  It's okay Teddy life always have to move on.  Feel free to do whatever that please you more.
