It looks nice - but I don't really get the Gameplay you want to do.
If the Gameplay suxx even the best ideas and graphics won't do any good.

At first, I thought the project contains only one town (Prontera) and outside of the town are all zombies/demon/undead mobs. As you get deep into the field, the stronger mobs there will be. Kafra/Warper should be on the fields where the mobs are.

One of my biggest blehs was that I cant have multiple death animations for the same mob.. So there goes random decaps or whatever.

create multiple mobs out of the same mob so that each can have their own sprite; then use duplicate sprites for each with only their death animation differentiating them.
and when spawning them, just spawn them randomly from that collection.

im actually quite happy this time around dont get me wrong but I shouldnt post my stuff anymore

also just figured this out

are people just dumb, i know if you use nodamage in src you can do the same thing but with a simple change in the data grf you can skip the whole damage numbers not appearing when you kill the monster, + seems to be a way to add all sorts of styles like self and ground...

it wasnt even a problem before but now my options just tripled and dont really have to worry about ugly skills ...

hah i might switch back to my 2015 client . . . .

the thing i was getting slipped up on was packet editting but... maybe there is a way to add more skill effects in the grf... f*** dumb no tutorials anywhere...  i mean theres a few useful things like custom status icons but for real hell a useless community

anyways I finished a bit of the bike

I just think its sad that we have such a sweet engine, i mean its half made for us... just take it and do something cool

I never looked at other game designing engines much but considering ragnarok is an mmo .... its just waiting to be played with...

Im not dumb enough to waste that much time on things though but if we had some real tutorials I probably wouldnt have had to do everything myself + people act dumb whenever i ask them things so i d k whatever or just totally jump around the question.... im under the impression that in order to actually add new effects like the old heal and stuff that arent already part of the str groups, youd have to reconstruct the client, which has all the effects? when i see total effect folder size = 40mb and client 11mb makes me wonder where everything is...

there is still more....... must.... figure.... it... out...

Also anyone trying to sprite but just cant get the feel for it... its all about perspective.. understanding your 3 dimension
Ignore detail and stuff thats probably what models are for lmao


but thats not all of it... its pretty hard getting it perfect

sometimes I just start shading it out and just trying to make it work...


And even if its a bit thick or wide or w/e... I usually thin things out last and just design it as best as I can first before trying to scale it down... literally my last step


then i eventually get lucky

apparently player sprites... the actually base jobs cant have more then 1 layer. . . so were gonna have to compensate for vehicles a little bit.

so uh the idea of this vehicle skill is that when you use it you go faster but you can knock into monsters...

so without it you can drive through monsters without hitting

and reverting... maybe just knock back stunned monsters who were hit by you recently while driving... . . .

still playing around with movement skills... too many would be hazardous... mobs trying to walk back to where they were before and stupid s*** like detection is horrible...

Backslide was fine and my custom gs from IRo is fine so its non issue

playing around with ranger sprite and such....

wtf is with the lack of weapon ids, and having like 50 different bows...

Im probably just gonna swap bows and daggers for guns...  see what the next problem is

... this is awfully suspicious but worst case scenario is = make an invisble gun sprite weapon ID then make the actual gun sprite, in like a middle head gear or something.... /lv problem solved



flipped animations, and made a new one for rifles... just trying to think about future jobs... probably not gonna be an issue ... worst case maybe a few less hair styles to compensate for the people who chose the demonic route... so probably horns and stuff... doram will just be replaced with the zombie master

Jeez  I know i said it was clear skies for me, but every step forward is 2 steps left another another 2 steps right.

Increased range on normal attack since ranger apparently shares daggers and fisting sprite lol maybe its something else  . . . for Mercenary//Ranger in particular youll be given a handgun if you have no weapons equipped ... I would have to cleverly hide the pistol under every rifle though lol

Changed the arrow animation to a bullet.... who knew it shared the same spr/act as skeleton archer arrow? Guess it makes sense.

Maybe Ill change it to a red dot tracer sort of thing so people can tell where others are aiming  /hmm /kis

Only real choice is to give everyone hand guns, except that wont really work for the pvp zombie master race/hmm
and change the fisting sound

I could just use the same bullet firing sound for all rifles but that wouldnt really work.

Guess ill go with A and deal with that problem later. . .

Kinda silly that fist has 4 different sound effects... could find a practical use for this,.... CHINGG ... CHANGGG...  /sob

Im not sure how pallets work ... but I changed my sprites around maintained the ability to change colors... now I made the pistol the same color as another piece so it changes color.. gonna go over this later..

those hiccups are just my idle animations between being hit.. lol

next is make my skill tree, then a gore effect, like boom head shot.... and a few skills to play around with, got my car / morphing / revert .... haywire driving... looking good . . . some guy once told me "I see +8 Hunter bow, and I am happy"

then its back to mapping

Well I figured out what that blend crap was rather quickly...

Anyways I whipped this up real quick.... little more emphasis on blood and extend the frames before the final fade out...

Just concerned about how its gonna look when you get like 10 head shots... however I plan it :P


The head thing works... Im just using poopy old re colored weapon perfection for blood, maybe just add a bit more opacity to it and make it a bittt bigger... and call it a day ... might try chunks but the head is already solid soooooooooo

I see a good future for this... honestly can see myself making three more projects haha... /hah

I think of other game engines and theirs no reason... rathena/herc arent that bad lol.. Maybe I could write a story quicker but it wouldnt be really fun.... I mean final fantasy gets away with it along with other titles but that sort of thing doesnt really age well imo  . . . you know what I mean ?

But I still need to make unts cast of direction... ill probably figure it out eventually

I never looked at earth strain before.... some pretty interesting applications to be made with this... just gotta re write it

Im just waiting for some r tard to pop out and be like hey look i did it ... thats how it feels being around you people ... 0 fun

but as for earth strain.... i start walking while casting and my unt moves with me... that means i can probably get some headlights working if i can figure out how to re write this damn thing

my favorite thing about problem solving is that you generally dont make the same error twice. . . god damnit

ah well i guess i figured it out.... dunno if im gonna be posting any of my content today though...

SO lets recap while I get some of my things running...

Gonna be finishing my second map, rocky start

Progress note :

Making a perfect brick wall... a structure and balancing it with ro size.. really hard... Im just gonna have to do every piece.. piece by piece like I did in my city scene.... that looks great and no issues.....I was hoping It wasnt gonna be like this the entire time but s*** thats the plan apparently............


anyone familiar with browedit can probably see what I did...

Its the whole... making a size in my modeling program... adding the small house bricks that we usually see... then adjusting it for RO in game...

Maybe if i took some really good notes I could figure it out but screw it lol

Relax. Those things took like 5 seconds to make.

Another annoying thing is that if you add a thinner wall as a window in model program, and then keep it as a seperate mesh/material or whatever, and load it into browedit with a transparent window... it doesnt show whats on the other side... placing a seperate window seems to show though,, dunno

I guess I could probably get a few bricks walls to look good but.. consistency is key and the more abstract buildings would stick out a bit

Anddd I just figured out how transparency works.... apprently if you try adding models behind a window, thats already placed... it like doesnt read them or something... So i have to add windows/transparent stuff last

Good morning rms

I woke up today feeling lazy and praying for a lazy way of finishing my buildings but thats not happening...

This is what bothers me


I can fix it... but Id rather just spend 30 more minutes in browedit... cause id have to calculate everything every time... so whatever.

I did finish it though.


I love it... Signs need some work but thats a matter of color balance and light maps.

When I think about quanitity over quality or the other way around...

I think about how , how many MMORPGS that are open world and never work out....

You guys usually just stick to your 10 maps your familiar with... abbey...pay dun... unles your looking for a certain card... or just trying to kill a certain mvp.. like abbys lake mvp.... no one ever farms that crap on the lower levels

But sometimes you do see randos doing random things...

What im trying to say is... Im aiming for something real..... not just an open world map that can be filled in with trees and rocks lol.. and i think we'll all agree  ( how many of us actually walked from pront to geffen before :P)

So yeah more work on buildings... not just square blocks and stuff...

I guess i could haul some donkey and just copy these textures/models


but theyre unimportant... and we just walk by them , 90% of prontera is un used unless your doing eye of hellion quest or a iRO job change like swordy walking up to the NW gate etc etc.....

I think you know what im saying

However the only eye sore i get is this


I could probably just make some bigger walls lol but its annoying when... not all sides are equal and you have to scale them properly each time... not to mention iRO models are really fantasy ish .. besides einbroch stuff

So i gotta do it all by hand.

Not like you can really tell unless you stare really hard at it from certain angles


Oh yeah you may notice those black strips... Those arent textures... its cause the curvy-ness i tried playing with just dents in too much and doesnt map the light how i thought it would.... I could probably fix it though :P

Sooo yeah like we saw in my city scene.... Ill just put more emphasis/work into buildings... points of interests...  not just a bunch of empty streets ( or fields like iRO )

I like to explore but id rather be goal oriented.... vehicles exist for a reason yeahhh... I mean ill probably add some highways and country style field maps dont get me wrong

busy day

annoying issue is:

adding models in windows instead of just plain old flat glass

its annoying when we wanna go into that building and the models arent the same...so i gotta plan a bit more forward in an  AWKWARD way... because now i cant place windows cause it wont show whats in side.... i mean its like 2 more clicks and will make my screen shots nicer but its a bit annoying

I considered roofless indoors but mehh i can play with lightmaps way better in its own map

yeah i know... these 2 buildings are actually pretty much the biggest buildings besides the town hall... the rest are dinky little stores

Like I said the idea is to make some really goood maps... then split it into time eras

So 1 : nice and calm little blood... simple infection nothing too nuts ez mode
2 : medium..... everythings ruined no humans left besides you guys
3: I have no idea yet

Then of course side things... that arent really involved that I just do for fun sort of like instances

So its not too bad Ill get to re use all my maps... itll just be a matter of dirtying up models and adding blood and gore scenes and stuff in later eras... I just realized I cant quickly replace all my models... maybe with some hex editting its do able as i did see entries for every single model / bmp used.......... SO there is hope my friends

Hopefully finish the gambling den by tomorrow, and i know i could easily finish the dinky stores in a day... its really just a matter of advertisements.... lmao

and I took a few minutes to change the texture to something a little more real

Might be crossing (get it) the line between reality and ragnarok but i think it looks fine

However... I think the grid is all f*** up or SOMETHING

So i made everything really small

I have this persisting issue.... Its annoying but its not like we need to sit in chairs but itd still be nice if it didnt shine like this

I added a stage but IDK what to put on it... maybe some NPCs will un dull it out


Still need some more advertisements and signs but ill do those all at once some random night while I play something....

Anxious to finish this area... the rest of this road is just shops... then itll cut to a warp

Then theirs the other side of the high way which we've seen but thats a strip mall.. and 2 more little stores... then the subway behind these 2 and then across the road 2-3 homes... with the town hall

Probably get alot more done tomorrow but today was a sleepy day

Cant wait to do some interiors and get some zombies spawned...

I did a bit of mapping.... but i needed to figure out how to get these custom effects that were mentioned in the browedit discord.... I never looked at effecttool because obviously never had a reason... cause i thought everything was packets.... but it isnt!

So good news.


Im just using Rathena logo ... really sloppy settings but ill figure it out...



but in other news



just finished the road... gonna spend the rest of night playing with this crap....

HMMM I was thinking about things

Like I said... the 1st part of rocky start will be one side of a bridge, with the town, then the other side, country wilderness...

Then the roads lead to the church on one side

And the other side of the highway, on the other

Probably just gonna take stores Im familiar with and not try and copy everything.... that would be ridiculous

-Yeah im not making a rng paradise... everything is gonna be put together... maybe some places will be accessible but I hate that crap in these style of games

Ill probably just have you walk through the glass doors... I think that would be the best way because.............

1) You can see where your going
2) Much harder to mis click the warp if it was sticking out in the street

Theres a feature built into the emulator where monsters can use warps.... I like this feature but I hope the path finding will work  /ok

"How many players do you think will fit"
- Well idk about that but I said i wanted to give it a single player feel... so that means im not gonna ask you to farm anything too hard as the game takes place over 6 months or so then rewards given out for next season... and accomodate whatever changes I include or whatever... but I can see how defense and pvp game modes would work.... maybe we'll have to instance the fields and make player limits... As long as I enjoy it thats all that really matters ;)

As much as id like to just make it open world, and just keep expanding, and using the international subway anomaly as a way to "out of place" areas... IDK maybe ill fill in the gaps in between citys and town, and keep it fiction but based on real world areas.......

But I like the subway . . .

Its just I wanna access power stations, dams.. power plants etc etc and I cant group these together really -

It would change the direction of the game.. I wanna keep it "arcade-y" I cant really think of any other way to deliver it. + I think I could make some pretty sweet subway scene...It wouldnt be the HUB IDK we'll just have to see later lol

* I was just mapping and writing/brainstorming... So the asretix involve the system where you collect goods and securing them for the future like valuables... food and water and non perishables... some being sent into orbit and non perishables for the future... all have some sort of scoring

Sooo... I made a Bank... Maybe have some crazy a****** demanding their cash be transported as a mission * Valuables

theater/gambling den .... maybe this will be where everyone gathered while waiting for military and itll have some stinky mvp hiding in there

hair dresser... not sure ill probably just leave it

book store.. * I guess this could fall under valuables / knowledge

I mean considering my story/lore im trying to maintain, this isnt a scavenging game.. were in an army.. Ill have sp diminish over time probably and easily countered with consumables and not really interested in eating rotten food.. but I think ill save this for another project :)

era 1 : mostly quests involving survivors / people trying to escape / securing roads and escapes etc
era 2 : will be leaning towards gearing up
era 3 : will be the endgame

Some areas of course... will be separate from the timeline.. or you know only take place in certain times.

Trying to think about why I would include a scavenging thing but personally think that would be too much micro management...

Maybe Ill just have it set up where you gather water... food ... not for yourself... but for your survivors and launching them into orbit with everyone else lol ... and securing valuables.... and locking them in a vault underground for the future...

all these would add to some global statistic that will change the outcome of the end game or something... or perhaps... your final reward

Man i wrote quite a bit.. mostly cause I allowed myself to start planning more crazier things due to effecttool.. I probably woulda gotten around to it but being told about it really helped lmao

Looks good... need to fill in the space between at the beginning with a poster or ad of some sort


Street seems fine, no issues with rotating like my city scene, probably gonna go with a single side for the city not sandwiched between sky scrapers .. and like being able to rotate around the blocks... guess itll have to be designed on a block to block basis for that to work... Not sure yet ... I wanna change the mapping styles and take advantage of the viewpointtable we have

These buildings should be 2 stories, but screw it...

So uh




I got this empty space here and i threw some garbage around just for this gif... the alley seems a bit short...but itll pass

Is using parking lots cheating ? nah Ill throw cars around and stuff

But that empty space... Were gonna have to throw some npc back there or something cause I cant think of any way to fill it up besides spilling some garbage around or maybe a car crashed or something


Getting there Ill finish up the building here.,... and then cross the highway those arent any big buildings

Then were just gonna make a church, and maybe a school across the street from it in the next map

Other side of the highway will consist of a grocery store and gas station...

Gonna have to shove my home town aside and think about my game a bit I dont like the idea of rows of useless houses just for the sake of filler... but with fast vehicles... its too tempting to knock on those doors though >_>>>>>>

Also I was thinking about letting you guys make your own skills in game  /pif

My buildingss are like lego though I cant be bothered to fix that... only way I can keep it proportioned

Found some vehicles I can work with... Still need an ambulance and police cars.. maybe some military stuff but whatever we'll get there

trying to make a car alarm thing going on.... I can probably set it off ingame somehow with scripts but got now ill leave it be because im pretty sure ill have to use a str to allow it to be used in game through npc scripts



I had to make it in a triangle shape so the solid beams didnt clip into the vehicle and off scene too much while rotating...

the shape is good, texture is fine to move on

I was thinking about using talkie box and grafiti stuff... never looked at those skills before

cant see anything real coming out of the graffiti

Im practically done the Planned portion of my town except for the bridge...

Man after going around and thinking about the future ive decided to make it just an MMORPG open world...  im just gonna throw this subway crap out the window , i mean the maps are usuable but the idea flops... and just make my own towns and connect them with highways and stuff like that

fixed the smog.. i think it looks ok like this, need some trash in the streets, signs and some dirt/blood but i decided to do my effect... or at least start playing with them now ... its pretty fun :P

Didnt think about this... but the angle at which the main light cannot circle objects .... that is kinda lame but its ok

It just means for dark/shadowed areas i need to play with more effects and different lights

Luckily I built everything on an angle that doesnt require me to restart lol

Another thing I could do is make maps in pieces , like we see most interiors... this might be ideal but if i build accordingly i shouldnt have to resort to this except for ( which i had already planned) my big city maps... I was just gonna do block by block and make them warp... now i just gotta compensate for that stupid angle

if anyone knows how to fix it that would be cool

look ok so far

I made some animated flags, that wave in the wind thanks to bromedit

Gonna have to slow them down, they seem to look faster up close... no big deal

Next step is to add street lamps, and lamps on side of buildings, that will produce the light dim effect we often see at really good timings around dusk when street lamps turn on and the sun is still out... maybe it will look good.

Dont laugh. But I worked really hard on these lights.

They are 100% no post editting, meaning its all textures and polygons with the base brow edit lighting.



I think they match the feel of the map, all my models are looking good together.

Next !

So I finished my light poles, different from what will be in the street, these are were designed to complement to water


That light green might need a fix,
Gonna surround the rest with a green railing

Then I gotta work on the bridge  /wah

And I finished the railing, I gotta do a store front but im gonna wait till i do my bridge first

Colors lights are another story...mixing them up with darkness was easy but now we gotta play around more


Im gonna keep going, I got a light set up im pretty okay with

The second image is in the shadow of the main building , I think ill make the bulbs a bit darker on the main street cause it looks sweet on the dock area

Speaking of which I think ill just make a dock.


I was a bit worried about my lights to be honest, but I think im gonna get away with it

So I took sometime today to finish up most of my things

todo list :
-some more flags, banners more like-it
-fix railing texture / fix roof texture (those bricks are for my shadows)
-add a few boats, and back drop


I just threw everything together so i didnt delete my shadowing breaks or place my sunbeams since were teleporting around youll never notice anyways.


Its a bit small right now but will accommodate all my needs... Maybe ill add an interior but I dont really need it. Ill expand it later.

Made the map smaller, I didnt need all that room...

Instead of making my bridge and expanding my town I just made a balcony for now


Working on making my portal look better next up are the rings.. then ill fine tune my texture


Also organized my keywords and stuff, and thought about how Im gonna set it up... a million maps is a bit much so were gonna get really creative

And of course I got my music in game, working perfectly, I had to add fade in and fade out but its the exact same thankfully

When I first started working on the ragnarok emulators... I instantly began writing a story line, and making characters and working on my dialog....

Was I already confident that I had no issues?

I mean I knew id have to pick a autodesk some day, but a simple retexture could accomplish so much

So the past few days I was working on some scripts, So far everything seems to be working well and yeah.

So now im starting with the dungeons,

Thinking about how everything is... I mean I think i just might re make everything and say f*** gravity im liking these textures.

But ill still be using these job sprites for a while. . .

Anyways :




No gimmicks or effects, just 1 lightbulb with a less intense diffuse...

We are looking at it from all sides because this is why I stopped working on the City (For now.)

I  dont think id be able to fill the game up with military style / modern usable effects anyways so ill just go finish this for now and pick up more techniques and stuff  /no1

Also finished my floor


I dont like to waste though, and I like alot of iro maps....

Some maps ill probably just add the [gravity] ( and my tag for my maps etc etc) tag when your in the warp system, and ill probably turn dungeons into quests rather then farming areas... doesnt really matter

That being said and after playing around a few more things Ive realized :

Models and Walls react to light maps different, bouncing light differently

- Macanu looks fine, good cause everything is models, i built walls myself in 3ds

therefore everything reacts the same

-Now i try to add pillars and little lips to the floor and stuff, attached to the wall

Totally different

Im not even gonna bother with it  /no1

So i jumped to the next tile set...

Yes I think im gonna use a Tileset tag ,unlike the actual dot hack series.. its almost impossible to find the tileset you want without getting lucky or keep track of them as you play

Anyways the benefit to me accepting the mapping style I will be going with is this :


Im just touching up the textures but it looks awesomeeeeeeeeeee

and ill be able to use a generator using these textures, so I can actually make a seemingly endless world...

Im gonna have a heart attack . . .

Finally I got a bunch of textures... and everything all set...

But now I want cut-ins of aura and the gloomy looking one is a buzz kill >_> need to get a scanner

Turns out the wandering ai i like is someone else.

I had to remove a spear from her arms and stuff... and used scanner to build her arms

Yeah i could probably give you something to play but this is funner making my cut ins  /lv

oh yeah and i tried to release something on rA but its more then a ragnarok texture > _ < jeez

also if you ever get professional printing done, they have a problem with reds , i dont get it

then after i do all that my good friend from cc corp takes over and finishes it for me , i just gotta mirror it


gonna have to go over everything but itll work eventually then ill be able to actually have a decent guide npc

And luckily I have alot of experience drawing lumps under clothing like here : we needed to make her arm lift her robe


Might be a little funny looking until im 100% done though :P

So i started posting a bunch of stuff and started getting messages so i deleted all my things

but i realized i was over re acting and continued posting... i mean its annoying cause losers would commit homicide suicide if they had the chance

but after a while i realized i would need to build on angles to really take advantaage of brow edit

so i decided to restart but re build the dot hack series in my own way

ive built mac anu mostly to a usuable point and 2 dungeon tile sets completed since then

we got animated portals and all my in game scripts are working

so now im making my guide for the game, which is the AI that the series is so revolved around ( Not gu though HAHAHAHA )

So im making the cut in for her then ill continue making the game cause we need a good cut in to poke you in the eye  a bit



oh yeah i was gonna write something about this

I think itll look good when i finish but I can tell its not the original only cause its not completed and it hurts me mentally

oh yeah and the asura strike for this picture is why did you remove the flower on the top of her head

but my retarded neighbor gave me a monitor to dual wield with but i need his table too otherwise it wont work

but really i plan alot cause ragnarok is all you need, just hoping nothing bad happens... but why not make a card game on the emulator. . . why not make an rts etc , why are so many games so bad compared to ragnarok ? she looks awkward to me, but whatever the idea was to give her a bunch of new faces anyways . . .

So im getting into the spriting process and we started with the legs, im gonna have her hopscotching in place for her npc

The legs are just a model ,itll be mostly covered but... Im not a square or anything  /kis

Then I make a shape for the body, Maybe a bit big atm but it scales well in act editor

I think  I nailed it really

Im not that good with pencil but I made that cut in usable and you wouldnt know what it originally was unless you saw it to begin with

And the sprite is 80% done really... I just wanna add a either :
some ribbons looping around her a bit
or floating flowers, but probably gonna use effect tool for this part..

I really wanted her to look happy... and i think that its perfect haha... just need to do a bit more work

I did so much these past few days....

Modified chain lightning, i was just playing around with shurikens though but its now workable and bug free

and ive been working on offensive auras, got it all working with effects and bug free ofc

So atm im building the tutorial , i give you a bunch of spells for you to try out actually thinking about it now, im gonna make the first dungeon tutorial speed run able just for laughs . . . and then you pick your focus tldr

Im gonna have them mix to a degree though but its pretty fun  /heh

Alright so first up i just wanna show you guys the skill i created, its just a base and can be replaced with anything...

but its nice and spammable and looks sweet,

its a place skill but it is symetrical on a 45 degree angle

background is still my macanu.... but im not gonna throw it out... it was really fun doing all that dot hack stuff so ill probably just load up another server and do both... it would be a huge waste to draw and sprite anything related to dot hack really ---- just go watch the real thing and play the real thing... itll just be a base for my rebalance and maybe a bit of abstract mapping

Classic dungeon tile set, probably gonna make it speed running themed with no models since the textures are perfect

I did design the living dungeon tileset textures but havnt mapped them yet

Wondering about what scripts ive done for dot hack ? :

-Fairy orb completed
-Keyword system for the portal ( need to do a few more effects, also gonna replace the blessing sprite into a thing that circles around you when you warp around like in the series
-The only skill i havnt re written yet is earth strain i think, by that i mean make it workable for myself
-Aura system is 100% completed
-animated models 100%
-know how to use effect tool 99%
-rostrviewer 80% - 99% questionable how good i am with it but i learnt how to actually display things properly OwO

I let you know most of it on the forums or discord... not hiding anything except for my olddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd project when i was trying to re write renewal and midgard into an apocolypse theme, I made like 4 new payon forest maps that made the black forest since it was overgrowth and alberta was overgrowthed and stuff... it was pretty sick but i think i lost it all ... im soo sorry  /sob

few other things i was doing.... I had an airship which i did release the textures and models for but not even gonna give it to you, you dont want it

I did make like 7 sprites for it, kinda surprising i was doing spriting but i was dead set on it

prontera was gonna have 2 maps to it, but as you walk around the ruined prontera, you could use the mirror thing to flip dimensions and the other dimension of prontera would maybe have another route you could walk on, and oh another dead end, use the mirror again and flip dimensions and keep walking around

.... what else did i do for that. . . simple ai stuff... controling monsters . . no thats about it really i broke my src by accident >_< but ive managed to do it all bug free (hopefully)

Sadly theres a few dumb things I dont have control over, but most things will be fine in the dot hack world. But luckily, I know which things i do have power over. Still have to do some client hexing crap... but thats not really a big deal atm

but revisting my small town... downtown area i realize that i didnt waste my time cause it still looks awesome  /sob




so my problem was the direction the sun lights in... how walls are affected but luckily i didnt overexagerate anything and was building on an angle already so i can play it off

i just dont wanna waste any time on the wrong sprites.... i could just import every gravity mob with re colors and itd still be good

these monsters take time without being extremely obvious and symbolic

i kinda like maplestory but thats silly and idont want silly

and going farther back to when i opened my thread...


this was the second map i made with the one below.. all it needs is a new texture for the walls and windows, and i can make glass now + lights



and the newyork style ish.... hmm its a good draft i guess, im probably gonna use the same pieces but change the ligthning and signs again

I really wanna start writing in game though but i need to build my world >_> seriously i cant waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit to build interiors.... but still need a world .... eventually... at least i can post some stuff for you guys to play with in the mean time

Im not considering any other emulator/modd set/engine

+mmorpg for a base... vs.... so common instance based games...
+3d / 2d famous artstyle .... vs.... 3d models/building maps completly in 3ds and just slapping textures on everything or even just morrowind construction set...
This is personal really i guess... but i mean i could probably ask anyone what they really want and do it and then get paid either way you know?

-spread out in millions of pieces vs construction set like morrow wind.... but i guess itd all be the same, except rpg maker is all in one for alother of things just gotta add them in folders and stuff

I mean i guess id have an easier time to certain things on other engines but may aswell do it on Ragnarok'

A while ago i was playing dead frontier 2, i like it but i dont play it cause im not lucky so i dont bother

But its something i would try to make my game look like but they quit for some reason

IMO bosses were terrible on unity, littlerly just running aroud couches and popping them whenever you get a chance...

I would pick morrowind constructions set if this emulator ever blew up

not to mention some of the best games ive ever played were browser text based, ragnarok is just perfect for it but not the only hope :P

i was told that you can change it all client side but afterwards your gonna have to change EVERYTHING

so im in the process of modifying the client to read my grf like so :



seriously one of the most annoying things about adding hats and weapons is making the stupid names and trying to translate it. Half that korean is totally off.

i can do 6 frames in the same time i did my girl... probably way less

but i finished this and needed to look at a few iro sprites like gangster and gemini,


its pretty much the same as gangster sprite just bigger and i can re draw it easily...

I dunno i thought about throwing it on a model and moving pieces but it sounds like too much work when i can get away with more gore and more details on a bigger sprite... not sure if ill scale it down or what but we'll see and try everything i can ... maybe make a third person view WORST CASE .... < would that be possible editor?

Although I have started working on my new sprites, I cant upload gifs on my back up laptop....

ah right and the last few seconds show how the sprite squishes at the 90degree angle, so i gotta set it to like 85 degree which is pertty good too but ill have to fix a few things... and dedicate my new mapping style to accomodate the 85 degree thing...

alright next up is weapon animations, ive prepared my stances while doing the dishes today, and will be reusing the old ranger one i did with two hands out where i can stick a pistol in one or replace it with a two handed

and of course a melee weapon, wasnt sure if i wanted an over hand or horizontal swing for the mercenary class....

Unfortunately Im not sure how to edit the animation slots.. so it will remain class based until i do figure it out...(probably not so thats why ill just keep working)

dual wield, two hand... you know katana wielder animations etc etc

like i said i  can probabbly get away with some of these things 


i was gonna go for some fancy angle stance but wait isnt ro 4 sides for attacking stances?

maybe i should do it like this and see how it goes

id say thats about 3 verticle torse lengths wide...

gotta do something about those animations but ill just copy hunter for now



looking pretty good though . . . (my hd actually did blowz up)

so i finished the job sprite along with the realignment of all my anchors for weapons (guns anyways... pistols huh? i actually didnt consider it for some reason... oh right its in case i cant add anymore specific slots ( like im limited to 20 bow slows and so on )  swords arent too bad cause i can split fist and sword slots  ( pretty sure that how they are after 120 + )


probably gonna do a melee animation tonight

also i was thinking about what to do with the sitting animation seeing how we are going to go top down instead of isometric  style

actually i decided this a while ago but didnt feel like posting it

ill be using the sitting animation for a PINNED sprite... you know in left4dead when you get pounced by a hunter and no one knocks it off you and your just staring at it claw you out for like 2 minutes because in versus hunters do 0 damage to you once your downed. . .

anyways ill be using for a pinned animation, how to incorporate a monster to pin me?
Well by making it transform of course i can even give it unique skills while its pinning me...

What if  I did give GENERIC zombies their own sprite ? I could use the special monster spawn for job sprites and just have them switch between clothing items.............

but just using a simple ball and drawing over it will work for most encounters

and merely changing items or something... thats next  /pif

ill just give job sprites a "Tripped" animation where you can be attacked while you pathetically lay in last stand until

1) i wanna give you a "second wind"sort of skill that has a 3 minute ish adjustable cooldown that automatically gets you to your feet
2) you manage to pull yourself together
3) wounded etc

so ive been working on the animations for the shambling zombies,

now i can just make a bunch and add clothing to them, add tattered rags sort of thing and bloody wounds... guts hanging and the sorts

i was thinking about you know different animatinos for different things... well thats acceptable just not for my zombies really...........

i can have you chop off a scorpions tail or claw.... or rip the tentacles off a whats his name ? squid guy

but zombies meh... too many frames too many variations, ill just keep writing

i screwed around with browedit trying to figure out some mechanics and stuff

long story short im gonna make a sci fi-y map

gonna lay out that grid across space,
split it up
add a planet
add some moons

then add some debris and asteroids

itll be like that time haruhi and the brigade fight the pc nerds but 3 dimensional

gonna save that for later though *pushes it aside*

dont really need to design any more town atm, maybe ill give walking stumbling zombies an aura that pushes everyone to make some sort of ragdoll effect...wonder how that would look...

so gonna work on making zombie kills nice

i wonder if that would work . . .  /ho

actually the thought of being pushed by a horde down an alley sound pretty cool to me...

Right so getting back on track,

So i thought about how to play everything out and considering how good sprites looks so far, im just gonna go ahead and make an MMORPG out of it, rather then any timed round stuff...

That means I gotta make my scenes bigger ;


I triple the size and added some rails to go out and stuff,

Im gonna have the intro take place in the tunnels,

A tunnle filled with grubby bugs and locust grass hoppers


Im working on a map for it


I need to make a couple things... a broken wall we can walk through, and some calcium build up or something

webs and eggs would be nice too

so 22 fields of this.... maybe a few changes... but itll only take 5-10 minutes to get out of the intro if you wanna go on the surface with the stupid zombies.. not sure if ill include them in the tunnle or whatever but with warps being enabled for monsters, idk maybe a few


The idea was to not just be zombies...

It should look good but

Itll probably be fields sorta like ro with mvps in designated area and such

Once i get this done the first thing im building is an aimbot homnuculus thats more then useful, something you can depend on while you control your character

Just playing around testing the sprite, I need to make it bigger but im hungry

No skills or anything yet, just my old burst sound effect that i havnt bothered changing

Probably gonna make alot of the effects gore.... idk yet

gonna make the  models i need to finish seeing how my sprites are out of the creation stage and nhave been approved

And im working on a buggy wall... I got the idea from the alien series how the aliens secret a resin from their mouths to build their hives... thats how they're all made right ? anyways :


The big thing is a bit much, but the rest of them seem to fit... might change the color a bit and need a new texture for my floor

Yeah it probably didnt look like I was gonna do a non zombie game... nah I like resident evil series like crazy... so its gonna be every monster ive ever seen :P

Also a ton of little things might make things look better i know

One thing ive considered was to shrink the damage numbers like 3-4 times smaller, dont really need em but kinda if your a meta kid... maybe a blood splatter number set haha

So theirs a few things I could do client wise like changing my summons into military dudes but im in a hurry

Honestly if i have anyone say anything about my custom skills 1 more time im gonna just flip out on NovaRO

Might need to play with the lighting a bit but its fine maybe

I wanna complete a few more sprites, an ant and maybe a grass hopper for these tunnles,

Miniboss planned for around 2:50 when i stare at the wall i wanna open it up and continue deeper in the actual hive

Besides that i wanna make a green glow for effect tool and thatll be it

Then on the one side my rails are gonna be plugged ... this is where we will start the adventure

We can keep moving out but after i complete those 2 things ill move up to the surface, and maybe give it a street look...


Im a bit slow compared to how big im gonna start making my maps

I really didnt mind all the parking lots, as that was the perfect place to drag a horde or MvP to fight without too much distraction

But these maps will seem alot less big once your striding around in mech suits . . . skills arent an issue... i need a game first  /omg

At this point its a whole less problems , and a lot more content . .

Anyways I spent the day working on some new sprites to get my subway tunnle map up

And along with it a skill, for one of the mini boss enemies

So he was based off tonberry from the final fantasy series, no tail just the gloomy hood and lantern


His skill summons maggots around you,
Might play with the area,
And the delay on it can probably be changed if i switch to targeting... but not really bothering me ATM

this was all i could come up with though for the code...

Thinking about a few mechanics:

If i use autospell to activate skill effects,

using perfect dodge as some other thing... its 2 sprites so i can change it to something else... not sure what though

So if I set up a LOW HIT, and consider THAT HIT a CRITICAL and have SUPER CRITICALS with LUK ? That means I can apply certain gore animatinos to WEAPONS ON HIT... USING THE UNIVERSAL SKILL ANIMS I BUILT INTO THE SRC... I think that effect is seperate to weapon type or something actually, but still


Another thing im looking at is using sage autospell for ammos.... i think that would be immersive, and allow you to not strain over the hot keys but a quick mouse click... ? am i rite ?

playing around with desperado rng and a small area... obviously just kidding

Working on the first few skills to start your mercenary with

Gonna start off with a fire mode change, although a pretty awful example need to get it sorted

I removed the bullet wounds and just made the bullets pass through with a bit of splashing >_<


This mode will shoot in a straight line WHENEVER YOU CLICK


This one is a concentrated spray in area whereever you shoot, I need to make the AoE smaller but whatever... next time

So along with another mode or 2 i can think of for the base

I wanna drop molotovs at our feed and spring forward , along with a normal sping ... maybe a frag grenade instead of a molotov for the first area

Theres that one skill effect for the duster or something ? I think i wanted to make that look like you butting with your gun or whatever

Sooo realistically :

F1 Frag grenade jump ( or normal ) F2 Gun smack for stun and knock back F3 empty F4 empty F5 Ammo swap

I wanted to make a decent base.... then add more skills I mean, we can have you summon maggots and beetles if you wanted ... it would be cool too just not really planning a maggot mancer immediatly...

I can doo things like, sprint forward and shoot targets in front of you in a cone or something

I was thinking of using the frozen or sitting animation for a Leaping / jump to prone thing
Where in this position you gain increase stats... obviously you cant move anymore... its an idea anyways

Theres a ton of skills to do but I need to make a game out of it >_> as much as a i want robots and turrets and stuff ...........

Not exactly sure how to progress the job trees,

I liked how the eden group was grouped with a bunch of different characters... maybe just to that whole job quest thing again ....

maps arent even an issue.. it would really suck to lose them all though due to freak accident though  /sob

I was taking a break,

But I changed the sounds a bit

When mobs are stacked and you shoot them with aoe, sound stacks

So i made them lighter

but the same sound on single target skills is really quiet

so i made a copy and kicked up the sound and attached it to the single targets

I picked a sliding function

Cant get any better then thief back sliding...

Even when i get bored i try to do the moon walk with it... with a HIGH cast time there is no error in direction however the window to cause lag is huge...we;ll see

but for now im making the first partner and finishing the skill tree for mercenary

hmm i was thinking for the general mechanic of the first partner :

super low hp, litterally 1-2 hit ko from zombies and really OP

Something you have to repair and main tain

Although its your pet aimbot you gotta take care of it

Or play a more aggressive play style that I offer

Well after looking at my materials i realized that homun sprites are the same as player sprites and CANNOT have multiple layers.... unlike mobs

But mercs can equip items....

back to the src . . . .

I didnt wanna say anything but i was thinking something as corny as your shadow... but i did the same thing in my renewal renewal with crusader and its spirit while casting aura skills hahhhhhhhhhhhhhhahahaha

wait a minute... did i use plasma as the sprite ? wait what

shadow size needs another tweak, dont think i can change them... still need to look a bit more cause i can use shadow for something :/

the issue seems to be that using many small pieces in general can cause distortion

So i can still use smoke and mirrors stuff really well but im gonna have to put all the body parts and other solid pieces together so they arent sliding around >_>

So I went over all my choices...

And ill have to work with the cute pet system

homuns are gonna be used for vehicle stuff...

elementals are gonna be used some how...

mercs will probably be used for interaction with NPC

and the other 2 dont really matter much and will find a use maybe ill make mercs the vehicles so we can have equipment on them or rather another layer

anyways heres a bit of gameplay, i screw aroud with hp and stats while playing... its liek 3 minutes of webm

So rather then a robot ally, im just gonna use the first summon skill as a nanobots thing that effectivly counter all the insects,

still wanna do more ofc but gotta get things together


next up im gonna re work groud drift animation since it is directinal based in the act editor...i wonder how they all work ... anyways im gonna use one of them for a knifing animation

as much as i wanna give you a katana right away... you just cant have one

im just gonna assume at least 3 or 4 of them work the same and plan around that style for certain abilities. . .

editor question :

- nothing of the sort, i cant waste my time on junk im still going with the whole score based resource gathering concept

i dont really know if i wanna use the bow arrows for the guns so i have to go flip some sprites around

I wanna use katana as a auto attack weapon sure...but the issue would be making the weapon sprites and effects blend... instead just add is a a side slot and show a katana on your back and you just whip it out with ground drift stlye SLASHHHHH

with this idea... I can save my view ids... or rather the important ones for special job sprites...

I should really experiment with these sprites as soon as im done though

I finished the effect but i was thinking about normal weapon sprites, probably can only use 1 layer on them too... will have to try but i can probably re produce the same thing . . .
but either way i would have to design the 8 directions we use for animatinos

SO either way i look at it, i can just copy and replace these if it turns out i dont need to save anything, win win ill probably use these sprites for melee weapons from now on but I DO have to do the exact directions and frames sadly...

So its a little limited but its 4 directions... still good as i planned it to be aoe


I finished another skill and figured out how to get movement skills to be casted properly...

"what does that mean"

- It means I can actually use movement skills.................

So now that that stuff is done... I can put together the mecenary

Ammo  swap -
Burst: Single Target - High damage and it slows that target

Suppressive: Hits all targets until your skill hits your selected target ( sharp shooting ) but it knocks
enemies back 1 cell. So if you click a strong monster, he gets knockbacked and anything trying to get in front of you get stuck in the cone of fire now

Spray: Aoe, around the target you selected more damage then suppressive

> controllable with menu, and you can use the hot keys if you want ? maybe ill just add a cooldown to them if you try to use them that way

Lunge :

Jump at your target swinging your knife hitting enemies in a 1x1 cell(everyone stacked)

Swing Knife:

Slash at targets in front of you... same thing 1x1 cell if they are stacking ( cant change it without turning it into an oni giri server)

Then the first equipment will be this back pack we start off with that drops nano robots ( they are designed to kill the little bugs in the sewers and will probably become useless on the surface except for distractions or a few kills)


Grenades and stuff...

Maybe we should make them consumables... like spell scrolls never seem a storm gust consumable though

... with gear granting skills and consumables being able to cast skills....

I guess the next wise choice would to add

throwing mastery - no skill ideas... except using it as a requirement
mechanics mastery - then add repair,and maybe a simple upgrade you can cast 2 skills
Melee Mastery - Obviously gonna be a pre req for mellee focus branch extension
Gun mastery -

.... Ive only done my mercenary and its about the same as a typical flash game... just give the 3 ammo styles a few tiers in level and you got the new knife skills

bam may aswell release it

But idealy this class will be my novice for the human side ( I think were gonna call the other side the Undead )

Not sure. Havnt thought about my life skills too much since thats all i did in my renewal renewal

Probably not gonna have much to say today,

But working on filling out my mercenary, that means get a back pack sprite and get some grenades together....

Im just glad i dont have to make any source modifications to get consumables to place aoe skills > _ <

So im going through my skills I can edit....

And surprisingly there isnt a skill that hasnt given me a graphical error....

but some UNT floor skills just dont show anything ? maybe its the skill but ideleted the effect folder and they dont even work ?

Why doesnt anyone tell me these things

testing looks good , just gotta add the pin flipping with the falling grenade next


i finished the pin, i added the flippy effect and had the illusion of it bouncing off something...

Spent the day and a bit working on my code for throwing :



Its good, havnt tested it but i sohuld be able to seperate by level....

but i dont think i can make it a consumable q_q

however i can now make the visual flash.... blind for a few seconds or other things. . .

and i made it seperated... as expected must be used as gear... 1 at a time but thats ok


I was thinking of some new skills now that i learnt how to use this and came up with this


drop a waterfall on top of a target, and then cover the field with water... simple but awesome

so i can edit alot of effects but some things tend to be linked...

I glitched out my whites thats why we couldnt see my warp portal, wasnt sure at the time but ive confirmed it

now im working on my base elements, I picked a fire sprite already, and working on lightning

first off was testing how it actually worked and picked a super hot angle... cant wait to map some more


but in the end looks like this is what im settling for, for my lightning element...

so for the file im using it edits the CAST color for BLUE and deluge, maybe a few other things

The casting animation can be removed just by changing skill ids....

Meh its ok i guess maybe i can use it somehow but the land effect is as good as i can make it without wasting a sprite or something more valuable


I also made my fire land, i just made the animation for ninja fire smaller, maybe i can link the flames

and i completed my ice element now too 


and im done my fire

Im saving the good things for my undead abilities... well im putting them high priority on the high value editables :)

and i made this for lols


finally got it to work ...


i having issues with the flag though where i could only get the flag to land on 1 unit ? but when i raised the layout it just offset my unt... i loaded my back up ( actually just undod everything from the day) and just flipped my layout right away and it worked.... holly valkyrie....

pretty awesome though i didnt think it was a mechanic id have. . . ragnarok barely used the system

Ive been working on this piece of code... i figured it out but im having the offset issue again >_>

just dont want anyone to worrry


the only down side is i cant use my grenade, but luckily the default animations are pretty good ( i could make them blank but meh...) it looks sweet i just gotta fix the land placement again

once i finish that, it should look pretty awesome

the idea is for a delayed grenade explosion

but i finally got back around working on stuff :


Soooo I made my nano bots skill, i could make it spawn more at once, i was thinking 3 nano bots to counter tobis 4 spawns....

I can separate the attack targets using custom ai

but custom conditions... im still working on it. I got it in game but no luck so far.

The idea is to be able to deploy 3 to counter the smaller insects

And be able to make them self destruct when you point at a target... i COULD write it an easier way but i have the time ATM to work on my custom AI stuff


besides that i made a few skill icons....

tomorrow ill decide on weather custom ai is gonna happen and finish the other 2 icons and maybe add the passives i had in mind

Balance is not really on the menu yet ( stats for mobs, and attack rates stuff )

Depending on what happens ill probably end up finishing the introduction maps

Trying to place my eggs and resin stuff but only so much is copy paste able
way easier to deal with the second time..
10-15 maps of this ? probably change the models up for the other areas but the copy pasting will only get better as i make more designs with the models im using....

I finished this map

Good news is... the mapping progresses alot faster... after i make enough corners twists and turns with the resin

Just like RO nobody really plays the maps but ill give you a reason

Also i organized a new discord channel for Ragnarok Projects and mapping :


And I had to re dif my client a number a ways....

I gotta re hex my client in order to get my data folder to work.. so ill probably do that tomorrow morning


After that, i have a date with dead frontier 2....

But afterwards I should be getting closer and closer to getting back to my city work  /ok

So i finished up that other map, and i just wanna put together a few indoor pieces for train stations sub stations ? whatever those little buggy holes with power boxes and stuff... never been in one because we dont have any underground trains where i live

one thing i do... maybe im just lazy... is leave my first art works in the map... as a reminder of how much ive improved... like these signs and the news stand... the newspaper looks like a 10 year old made it but... whatever lol

So ive been working my butt off this week doing a few things

I finished the first round of skills, summons, grenades, and my rifle skills....

I gotta put that together then i can start writing again...


I did make a set of playing cards in RSM form to fill some spots around the map... instead of just food ammo and dishes... everyone likes playing cards...


I made a radio and some ammo crates ... also made some new newspaper clippings, and ill have to replace all my old ones with these... like i mentioned above ^

I wanna make an effect for floating music notes... or something staticy, not sure what...


But i did finish the sub stations, and like everything else i make it will be IRO friendly, where the isometric 3d/2d view is used rather then my top down focus...


Not to mention the outside of this particular sub station,

I think it looks great, but ill leave the rest ( as you can see on my minimap I am making FIELDS ) a secret


And of course the first area I made has been completed and split into 2 sections, the infested bug zone + these tunnles....

I finished most of the animations for my first sprite for humans

Now i can just replace them all...

I think im gonna go make a vehicle or something... gonna be kinda lame trying to match it up with the in game vehicles though..

Unless I mmake them destructible... and monsters like instead of plants , cars that you can blow up ?

Im trying to develop a vehicle system that will work and be non retarded mechanic

This is what I came up with..

I place a trap, that only effects myself, it last forever and when you trip it, you mount up  in your whatever vehicle level you have it set too


you get a status when you place it,

Status is = PARKED CAR

Ok now you cant place any more with the status up...and the only way to remove the status is to pick up your trap again


-lose trap and maintain status on log out
   I will make a kafra sort of npc that tows your vehicles

this will also apply to the other drawback

- lose signpost when you switch maps
  simply enough, drive everywhere and park when you know your coming back for it or whatever

This will work fine

Next i make my non test vehicles

and thinking about the surface a bit, ill probably will make cars as sprites in game so you can blow them up among other things... once i get a car ready itll be back to the surface...


Had to figure something out about what happens when you log in and you already had your status removed because you logged out in your vehicle

the only thing i can come up with is to just stick you with a 30 minute penalty if you log out in your vehicle

with that in mind ill have to be careful and place a new map flag to deny the placement of it at all, and removal of it in certain maps... no biggie

So today im moving back up to the surface seeing how we have completed all this :

-Reversed 90% of the skill database... few big ones i havnt touched yet are earth strain and rolling cutter
-sprites all aligned perfectly, clothing, helmets and weapons are ready to just be copy pasted and replaced in act editor
-figured out our new mapping style, usage of effects and lightning, and shadows

Now... I begin with my kitchen seeing how its crucial and will prove weather or not I should keep trying to make my own stuff or just learn how to uv map something with high poly...


so i just whipped it all together, threw in a light and said lets see how it looks

I made everything except for that fridge but did have to paint it...

but good news...


i figured out how to map sections at a time  /no1

I even made a sink


Besides making everything smaller
I need to fix the counter, and make corners for it

Im kinda cool with my s*** stove though so lets just keep going

I didnt wanna think about bumming out on my work because SOMEDAY ill upgrade to the same sprites as ragnarok... maybe... depends on how many monsters I design


so the kitchen is nice and everything, i planned the rest out and probably have to make it all myself... gonna make this a huge apartment building maybe split it in 3 ? maybe 2 and add stair wells in between

elevator??? its possibly but thats stage 7 stuff with hback drops and blue screens


so after testing with some furniture and walking around...
I cant use the built in walls for the inside walls... no... im gonna have to use the airship style of walling on the inside

That is until i upgrade my sprites... but that depends on how much i decide to make in top down ... if that happens ill have to go and change all these walls cause they do look good as a gun slinger...

So i finished the kitchen mostly


Instead of using airship walls with models i just made half walls and will accommodate changes for closets

Started my living room and got a few models ready just having issues finding something I can use online, gonna have to do it myself >_<

But all in all it looks pretty fine with my sprites and ill keep working at this scale


gonna make another apartment but flipped and change the lay out a bit then fill it up

thinking about scavenging now . . .

While im still awake though i finished my TV and a remote for it,

looking pretty good... Im curious as to how im going to change the surface though...because the brick issue is still persisting , but i havnt showed you the shower tiling....  /omg

I finished a bunch of the smaller models, but had issues with my bed and replaced it with an iro model for the sake of the post today


and i added wires but hardly noticable


Once i finish furnishing the basics of the residential apartments, ill end up copy pasting them a few times, then mixxing up the models a bit

Once of the issues with using IRO sprites instead of making my mown is that MANY/MOST of them DO NOT have back sides, meaning icant just turn them or flip them over

Sure right now it looks like a model home ( exept for the clothing i threw all over and the jumbled wires)

Once Im done I can just do what i said earlier about time lines

Im still a little curious on how im gonna do it

And the whole idea of Time progressing as you move farther out doesnt stir well with me...
But like i wanna rip the apartments up... but not every room, but why would a single room be not ripped up etc etc

Besides that I was thinking about the "life skills"

I already have things planned out from old projects but in regards to now:

Lockpicking >
... Examine a door will leave you with rng choice
30% - Door is jammed and youll need to smash it or use proper tools do to it without making a bunch of noise
70%- door is locked
-- difficulties for pick are presented

bam exp for lock picking

Besides that im not sure...

But for looting and keeping it nice and random=

using the current spawning mechanics I can make sre to only spawncertain items in the rooming, and if i wanna get complex food specifically in kitchens.. easy stuff

i plan on making them tiers.. 1 small box of junk... med box and so on, same with food art, ill probably stand them up... itll make it look alot better then top down sqaures and banana shapped stuff

Now im just thinking of ways to implement more then combat stuff... thats the cake walk... same with designing monsters...

and for staarting im thinking a few selections with buffs... but all start with the same job...

- Bus crash survivor :
+3 skill points or some general thing for a plain citizen start
"Crash Survivor"
"Youve experience the shock of a near death experience already"

-Apartment Complexe resident
- spawn you in a random CLEAN apartment
"First Blood"
"You fended off your first zombie encounter first hand and up close early on"

-Police force
-start you in the middle of a riot in the city
"You were used to this stuff before the outbreak"
... probably just give a huge buff the falls off like i mention below

not sure about the stats but maybe this will add some flavor and eventually fade away on your job change

now im thinking progressing through time lines should be a matter of what job you are... that could work...


woke up and getting more models out of the way...
finished bathtub,fire exit, fire extinguisher box...

kinda nice knowning how to make dented shapes and mapping it properly

need a new bed... toilet.. bathroom sink and a mirror

then a few roomy things and then i can finish my walls


I raised and moved everything into place on my map

Now im gonna make a city scene... gonna wait till i finish and make the exit though

Gotta lift a few things was adjusting my height and never checked in ghame... still gotta be careful some things I dont make myself are buggy as hell...

I know which ones are broken but im gonna probably clean up my models and textures soon..

playing with back drop, forgot i need to play another bulb under the floor...


and gonna go over all my glass

so the plan of seperating time lines depending on job works for me...

3 starts for humans

bus crash > +dex until advance , lots of random loot in streets , finds guns , melle, all sorts from dead corpse
apartment > +int until advance , lots of supplies, materials for crafting and headstart
police riot > +str +dex until advance,  lots of shooting, more skills

Then you can pick and choose them...instead of boring tutorials

generally gonna have them all converge on each oher somewhere.,..

then use my military tunnle as the advancment for military . . .

which means electronics, throwing and medium / large firearms...

stealth... will include lock picking... and other rolls..
cooking, contruction and farming probably all together in the first job tree and make the rest job specific.. not entirely sure yet

not sure about much didnt plan my job classes yet didnt think it would work out t b h


or.. the other way around, floor on the ground and my balcony as a model, derp

Havnt thought of many because im mainly thinking about the 1ST advancement

Assault rifle skills
Knife Skills
Then equippable gear for throwing, electronics
Few masteries and electronics prof

blitzkrieg - Knock all targets off of you and give yourself endure + movement speed buff.. not sure about the cool down
-foresight > enter defensive stance for a few seconds lower  movespeed, unable to attack and can be toggled off
-rapid recovery > sacrafice your flee and movement speed, but gain increased hp/sp recovery
-blade / blunt mastery
-conditioning - increase hp / movement speed and reduce impact of move bonus in foresight  and rapid recovery

so the idea is to make a GOOD base build, skills that are ambigious ( mercenary receive training in handling gun better certain styles.. and depend on masteries)

Thinking about the Mage, Scout and something else... but im not sure what skills to let the mage use since itll be mostly converting Junk into spells... >-<

Oh I do have alot of undead skills planned, Skills, chains , impaling spikes.... all sorts of cool stuff and ill have huge MVP style job sprites for some of them too..

so taking these all as FIRST job and the BASE of whatever we advance into, gear will have their own skills that take masteries into account

Mage /

Whip mastery
>Pull placeables around with it ( gas tanks , propane, and other things)
>Reap - huge aoe in front of you 3x3 and stops them for 2 seconds but knocks you back and you lose 30% of your hp
+Thick Skin - Reduces the amount of hp damage you take from whip attacks
Free casting
Pyro Mastery, Electric Mastery, Explosive Mastery
Traps Mastery, Bombs Mastery

he can make throwing grenades for all classes except knight tree

Scout /
Starts with a dog homunculus

Shotgun mastery and Small Fire arm mastery
dog suffers from the loud shotgun, and prefers you use small fire arms
>small arm rapid fire .. dex/hit bonus to style
>small arm single action.. aspd bonus to style

pyro mastery
dog hates your fire skills

throwing mastery
back step - jump backwards a few steps
nimble feet - increase move speed

Mechanics mastery - good with vehicles, building and tools

undead :

Fledgling / Vampire

bat form - super fast
bat cloak - summon bats that circle around you hitting targets and interrupt cast time.. cannot use bc or bb
shedding - release bats and hit targets all around you, but unable to call them again for 60 seconds

blood cycle - jump towards enemy slashing all targets in path and drain your hp..
prepare viel - boost your flee rate , but unable to attack
cloaking - simple cloaking that is removed on hit
blood blossosm -explode and slash targets around you and drain your hp
frenzy - change weapon form to deadly claws that drain your hp every hit
feed - only usuable on humans , restore hp and sp 


Tantrum - Start smashing the ground around dealing high damage to med - small monsters .. toggleable..
Running - start running forward (taekwon). .. activates a status that dissallows Tantrum
+tackles through targets ... can push and carrry targets if placed perfectly
Slam - usuable while running for increased damage, slam and send target flying
Backhand - can counter attacks and send the target flying

Still thinking about the rest but gonna go back to mapping a bit now...

Im done the basics of my residential homing stuff.. id like a few more things but leaving it there and gonna build more

So with all the things considered im thinking this is the best option :

- Civilian Timeline > Everything is still pretty un touched , nature windows and buildings were just evacuated
> Pretty big map.. mostly just preparation phase with your chosen class, maybe some secret loots
>So if you go do your advancment they say the training will take a few years , but you can bring all your items with you, but cant turn back... so youll have to make a new character with no storage system in the first time line

Pretty much just gotta find someone who'll train you, military at military check points, and the others mentioned below...

-Main Timeline > Windows broken, fires everywhere, signs of stuggle and everything is messed up... Your allowed to play again but youve advanced jobs with whoever is the job masters...

Military - Probably got some base on the high way or some actual building for an hq somewhere else
Scouts - Local parks. Nice and open... maybe find a few wanderers here a there
Knight - Everywhere, local parks and at military points.. we just call them knights
Mages - Libraries, Churchs... other odd places like antique shops looking to preserve valuables

Then ill balance the undead for this timeline, and keep things.. a little more cool...

Then the plan is to throw down another point of no return, not sure aboout storage... but next your find your new job master... some pro wandering.. and proceed to the next time line

Final Timeline - No idea but maybe some temporary thing... not sure yet

After I use all the skill effects I can for the main timeline, ill decide what to do after

Like alot of stuff will be attached to equipment, but its either that or just buff up the archtypes or add more... not sure yet


But after I add the lobby and front door, its back to the out doors

So ive been away for a bit

I found a few textures to work with

But they turned out really big


thats 10cm x 10cm

Im gonna have to shrink it down to 586 and thats 1/3 of this and maybe i can retain some glow

After I find a suitible apartment texture, Ill have to get some counters ... a backroom... elevator and maybe a washing machine area

Add some split doors with locks for entrance, Im thinking for those who dont pick the apartment starting position,
Have to either find a apartment key to the BUILDING , like a swipe pass from someone....

Or get it traded ?

After that ill build out and position some bus crashes maybe 3 of them

And decide what to do and see if its worth it

working on the apartment lobby , actually looks like i forgot my elevator but maybe i can sneak one in...


so like i said im trying to make field maps... bigger maps..

but of course i cant fill empty spaces that easily...

so i just made a pit with chain flooring beginning to swallow the map

and in future timelines it will be the center where an mvp spawns or something

gotta add carpet and glass, then a new effect for the pit

Well im still working on the lobby

Its all good i just need some more models :


so at the top ive added a washer/dryer and some elevator stuff

interior elevator ? WELL sure i can make it work... but i was thinking of saving that for some endless elevator instance minigame... so for the mean time we'll just be placing the stuff down along with the laundromat area

I have a payphone on the way, totally forgot to add a phone, as i dont use them

But working on the outside, i simply cant just... make it all black

So like i showed earlier on the balcony im working on the surrounding walls for it
... then re do the bricking, i have a plan for it though similar to how i stacked 3 blocks or 4 ... itll be annoying but after i do it , thatll be it


Im scaling it up 50% from the exterior maps, looking into the interior...

can i scale it down half outisde? probably.. we'll have to wait and see whatsup though not sure if i want a line of parking lots... probably through the trash bins on one side but whatever

I also whiped up a .hack//quarentine video


f*** hour long bosses are annoying

Man i threw my light map off the grid and almost had a heart attack when i looked in game...


But i finished the one half of the lobby entrance, next up is the bell thingy to ring in apartments...

Ive spent alot of time standing in front of payphones and very familiar with the ergonomic set up,

Personally I like to drag a chair over and just sit on the waiting line for hours just to get my way

Honestly it only works like half the time

Man i hate modeling, it looks good and all but its time consuming... transfering textures, editting them.... transfering them and flipping them... inserting them into browedit...

But its all good...

This was an important model, I had to get it myself,

I also got some new mail boxes so i might just interchange them or maybe save them...


and i had to fix it... had to build it differently due to limitations in the software that im using

So i made this handle but its so f*** big, and i decided to say no doors, not happening... i had planned from the beginning to not use doors... just see through windows and stuff, i simply just removed them...

Wait didnt i say something about a keycard to get in ?

A f*** me here i go


Anyways its all done, I just gotta do the second floor elevator... but

Some places i simply cant think of anything to fill it with, except for adding another 10-15 models... that i can reuse but its un necessary and ill just start using symmetry more often


After the second floor thing, ill just be doing the gat,

Then were going back outside

I was gonna restart from scratch now that I know how to use all the software available to me

Im still gonna steal textures off of google, but theres many small things that i can just get myself in real life

I had plans for some huge train yard map, but we need to get some of my city going

Finally done with the last few models..

Tons of phase 10 stuff I wanna workon like chemical bottles and other things like food and stuff but itll keep going for now...

So i finished the apartment building and started drawing out now that everything is nice and scaled, b

maybe ill do more and see if i regret it tomorrow... i had issues with my parking but i fixed it so far

not exactly sure what direction to build but.. maybe make this apartment central a little gay and green and surround the rest with kerring city ish...switching to gray brick instead and just work on outskirts...

hmm its more annoying then i thought planning a residential district,

I wanna do sky scrapers but... can i build my way there? jeez...

Instead of show case windows, ill just cheese it and place a plank of objects... followed by a black background, curtains or whatever

then slip on a door and call it a building

( Still need signs and stuff, cant necessarily rip those off )

Now im not looking to limit anything but for the purpose of the primary storyline timeline where the survivors pick their first job advancment

but the idea is this


the blue zone biggest star is this apartment and

if you move towards the green itll just be the end of residential and itll be high way military blockades or something... i took civics but barely passed

then the bigg star in red will be the police start in the middle of times square sort of place

and the smaller ones are bus crashes

for sprites top down is easy for me

but i could always make lame ragnarok isometric sprites but just use less frames....

meh for now ill just finish this area... then we'll decide on that

so today i was gonna work on my bioshock map, with underwater and big daddy suits

then maybe some sci fi s*** sort of deals...

maybe set up a scene on mars...

So i did finish a block piece


when i said i sacrificed detail for speed, it was the whole building and bricks..

if the map was light itd be visible... but then i cant control the diffuse without constant tuning... this is very late phase 14 stuff that im not concerned with

but with this i can easily... achieve something i would like to play and write on...

we'll see what i do tomorrow

so playing around i figured out an easier way to add my advertisements,

its through the hex editor... works like a charm


this light map was the best i can muster up in the darkness areas sans effects

the map is over half built,including bigger points of interests like shipping depot for the district and other things... but the deeper we get the more inclosed we'll end up... im getting curious

I worked on my light map...

And made a bunch of models too today


Now the only real concern is trying to copy a building style like mcdonalds... grab a few red blocks and call it a day.

wont be too long until the survivor time line is completed.... or at least the maps

Plans :

You pick one of the 3 starting zones

apartment : Not sure about the stat point gains yet... but i was thinking something leaning towards success rate for crafting skills and sp...
bus crash: more hp , more dex... if you pick bus crash and find a gun, youll be really good with it
riot control: starts off with a bunch of gear and high stats,

Now i was thinking about the next part,

Of course i wanna figure out a way for everybody to pick their next job advancement

apartment start : you are aware of everything and had a surprise attack on yourself by your neighbor in the hall way, your new goal is to get to a evacuation site without being infected

bus crash: aware of the hype over the epidemic but still trying to keep your normal life going, you are caught off guard... you start off with a house key, random, and you can go back home for supplies... or your equipment ... something.... or you can try and get to the evacuation point on foot from where you started

riot control: survive the onslaught and try and push through the maps without dying/getting infected... simply 1 way map on the street with a few scenerios from being surrounded or in tight places..

So why not just pick riot control...

Well I would pick riot control right away...

But ill have a few things in town to do... along with special loot you can carry over

I was thinking about another option instead of job advancment :


ontop of lossing the buff you get for you starting choice...

you make it to evac and you get some dialog

-you insist on joining the military
Mercenary job
>start you in the tunnels on the next time line
>you cant keep any special equipment or items from previous timeline
however you turn it all in for survivor points or something....

-friends still alive at the entrance of the evac center and suggest we try to clean up ourselves
Brawler/Knight job
>Start you somewhere.. maybe a bar or hospital... at this point the military and you dont interfere with each other as they are more or less in charge of the border and transportation... some hostility due to cruelty with infected
>start with high disposition to normal people still stuck in the city

>start at one of the bigger local parks with other stragglers
>quickly have access to rare loot... everyone scavenges in this area
>you keep some equipment, and can trade what you want for survivor points

-they told you that you carried the virus, but not showing any real symptoms.. this is uncommon but they cant take the chance with you.. they offer to kill you, put you into quarentine or shoo you back into the city.. you chose the city
mage class
>you start in the same place as the knight class

>you trade all your equipment, for new equipment, this equipment is different depending on how much/how valuable the carried goods were

and another option... assuming i dont make more starter classes

I dont know how to add this part into the lore... but changing characters and having them clear for certain purposes sounds like a good way to learn my game and get rewwards,,, but...

mage starts with a bunch of tech -
mage deposits it in shared bank
logs on other mage and uses it...

new scout is born and checks the DAILY 24 HOUR SHOP THAT CHANGES
this means you just need to make a scout and you can gain survior points + check the store
once again he can deposit it for his other character, albeit alot quicker then the mage can deposit it

new army recruit ... you can try and smuggle your gear out and just not get involved with them anymore...but if you chose military related stuff... you dont have accesss to a storage at their camps, and always have goods and resources removed upon entry in exchange for survivor points

brawler/knight... nah they get something else

this way you can gain points and other things... depending on what you want

Now what you can do with the survivor points? No idea

but this way i can split my game up...

If you just arent ready for the second time line you can play with all the normal equipment without undead to herass you... like pvp... but you can still farm alot of diffent ways...

military can just farm non stop or knights who gain them from other ways...

smaller map and few mvps...

then finally when you switch is when everything opens up and turns to hell...  but i wanna give you a chance

I wanna make traveling short-medium distances rewarding...

there is the matter of home invasions and breaking into commercial/industrial buildings in the first time line... but as far as goals go itll be saving people... and killing zombies...

But then i was thinking another spin on the time switch

lets say...

we recruited

400 military
200 knights
100 scouts
100 mages

maybe this can trigger quests... but in the long run it doesnt sound too effective

survivor points :
no idea but thinking of making it super rediculous and breaks the lore/realism totally like a gantz ball that trades points with you... and kept track of all your lives and survivors or something

not sure but curious to see this get wrapped up a bit

All im gonna do is simplify the ragnarok sprites

Ive got a decent perspective on pixel art... its just gonna take me a while >_<

After that i gotta fix my traffic lights... kinda outta proportion


So for civilians ill give males jeans, and a tank top

then a few clothing pieces will be armor and jackets... easy enough to edit on once im done with it

maybe i can just use female white smith and give girls more diversity in outfits >_>

Well this is a general scene of it being 80% complete, now i just need cars... and maybe some glow here and there but


Im sad that im not gonna sprite ro 3d sprites... but its impossible for me

as far as sky scrapers go, itll just be taller , ripped posters... gonna be cool

also i never walked through my maps, litterally just test 20% of it and bam send it to japan


almost done, i started dropping all my models and its ready to be lit up with lights and effects (litterally takes 10 minutes compared to the 1 hour gat session i have ahead of me with my apartment complex >_<)

making unique buildings like mcdonalds will be easy and windows look good... its just a bit of a pain like i said... import export transfer this, and transfer back, fill in note pad stuff and check in editor... then import again and again >_> Soon though ill have so many models i could build town theme endlessly, but...

this is a down town region where i come from, we are split into residential sections and keep only few small conviences around us...

so if you ever watched the start of dawn of the dead, the whole row of 1000 house are the same is real... and gonna have to be built differently >_>

maybe ill just say nah i dont need it but why not when i implement vehicles ...

Im done raising my buildings and laying down all the parkings lots...

I also added another silent hill tear


I was gonna put a fountain there but i said hey, lets just do that instead..

Still a bunch of stuff to place but doesnt take as long as the walling... so this is about the size of morroc desert maps

maybe get 4 standard maps like these with 2 bus crashes,  then maybe 2 maps of super thick city

then turn around and drop a couple silent hill torn up maps... itll be the end game of this time zone or something


1 more small section left and then I have the verticle row of lights and telephone poles

now im trying to plan out more of the mechanics...

Im really confused with the spriting for weapons...

knights can use spear on attack2 and sword on 1 with no attack for fist?
meanwhile some classes use dagger in fist slot

its so f*** messy....

Im planning on just making melee weapons for humans a side arm thing... visual most likely

Like the mercenary has a dagger effect built in... its reserved for that class

Its impossible to plan without going through all of it...

and ill need more then 1 job prepared...

I might have enough effects for me use if i just :

give baseball bat its own effect,

its a matter of switching weapons and sprites...

Really dumb... but Im just gonna pray for 2 weapons....

the only issue is... having no weapon = animation

having 2 is easy to deal with since i think knife is always linked to fist

and use the other as gun...

starting to plan quests too... its getting interesting

also 1 thing i know ill do for someone like knight whom i understand its spriting, ill turn him into the vampire...

having claw animations being interchangable is gonna be hot

Thats gonna wrap my thread up actually. By now im sure alot of the ragnarok community is aware of this, and perhaps are building their own things in regards to what i will be publically releasing...

Next up ill be building a website + including a link here in my next post

And Ill be looking for another way to use the ragnarok engine... I mean ive considered other engines... but i would imagine you would make a good mmorpg on your own if it was that simple... so i really wanna look for other ways to use ragnarok since ive gotten used to it... but such a fragile emulator might blow up someday and that would suck but by then i could just conform i guess... cant be that bad..................

The past week or so has been annoying but..........

Everything is put together and ready to be expanded...

I had to deal with alot of spriting issues ... this whole palette business was forseen but............. i didnt expect so many issues

Making my plad shirt variants proved troublesome due to the nature of the resources and had to be worked on but i could make all sorts

The plain shirts were simple...

Getting my weapons together was easy enough but because i actually know how to read I got stuck in an izangi but after fighting for a few days I solved all my problems :)



editor note : the one direction needs to be mirrored, gotta go do that i just forgot >_<

So with that, sound effects are being worked on too .... however being a solo developer with a tight wallet, i have to get creative, But luckily your god isnt a noob and loves the horror genre (duh) Im just gonna take a stroll through my old games and extract sound effects and edit them in audacity (which i have been learning, infact i have figured out how to split L and R audio and make them mono again  /lv.. on top of amplifying and everything else i need...)

But... this is just 1 batch and I need less zombies so i gotta go play some other things >_>

Where i Fill a bucket with colored water and sponges or towels and drop it from the sky...

Sure is getting interesting... I have 0 time to work on my website because I need a few in game shots... and just adding a minigun and boss doesnt really float my boat and i progress as i work

getting back into it


I wanna try and get the middle area completed which consists of most spawning starts...

Since im gonna be splitting timelines, the present  being a preperation phase... or partake in other activities that might benefit your "future" where all the abstract stuff will be filling in...

Like present day:
More oppurtunities to raises your mechanics skill, more cars that arent destroyed..
More chances to find books and knowledge stuff.. like recipes that you can bring to the future
unique mvps to the era

But, the map will be narrowed to my main city..schools, apartment builds, churchs and residential homes are planned... smaller buildings will be ignored for now but once we get a bunch of models itll be a cake walk..

The the Future will have a bunch of random stuff.. mech suit robots... crazy vehicles and PvP will be enabled... or some form of it

Vampire/Undead race will only be available in the Future timeline..

I havnt used any animated models yet though  /hmm

itll be like rebirthing on a bigger scale  /heh

Ah right and the top right outskirts will be seperated by those sink holes i introduced, acting as a natural barrier "natural" more, "invasive", and the top left center outskirts will just be forest and impassable, gotta follow the blue line as main road ... but lots of side streets ... not like im letting you out of the city in the present day era though

and going down town... im thinking of just filling the streets with lights and billboard, no windows, or buildings like in the stuff above, ... then where i need a point of interest i can just stick it in but... Not too many..

Finished with another section, got a grocery store, and the subway here... pretty easy cutting things in and out and adding new models...


still kinda annoying placing lights and effects >_>

for the residential area i was gonna give houses actual roofs... and yards, being clearly, visually different from town stuff.. .and down town city stuf


finished another corner and will probably finish 2 more sections by the end of the day...

getting closer to being able to play and make stuff in game... as easy as it would have been to just use gunslinger in a nice map with custom sprites.. no point really... almost that time

and finished the first real house, i think itll turn out nice..


throwing down a double row of these and thatll be it, need some back yard stuff... and maybe wooden fence for it too

but as far as "new maps"

Im thinking "new tile sets and themes"

Not sure... but this will be part of the largest main chunk of land anyways... so far spanning 3 prontera fields and for dungeons, 2 more fields

I can see myself adding trash and other things in the future though, but trying to speed through it a bit now

Done with that part of town , included a park.. need some benches and have to make a better sand hill, ill come back with some higher quality park related stuff.... someday


and a few step north we got my houses


the realistic size is awesome... man its gonna be hell playing this

The past few days i was thinking about other software i could use... but i really wanna do something with ro... but ive played a few good games that were simple just not really expanded on... the whole idea of creating a chess board to creating an fps confuse me but probably just a bunch of tools... but yeah... you stick the sprite on the act editor and shove it in the client ....

The northern section of town is completed, ive got... 1,2 ,3 ,4 ,5,6 more sections then i can change tile sets ... a few things i will need are the buses and a few bigger vehicles are a little more difficult, like fire truck ...

I need to trash cars up and use both sprites and models for them

the few places that werent moved around are hardly noticable but i need to make visible changes to my minimap

still thinking about other software i could possibly use, maybe not for my apocalypse game but a few other things... i mean i look at some strong examples and try and make stuff up but my biggest complaint in videos games were the lack of the usage of status effects and skills the interacted with them... i cant imagine the devs are complete potatoes for coming up with things to begin with but the lack of effort that is made kinda bugs me... wondering why they dont just keep doing stuff... maybe its just an mmorpg thing cause i look at things like fallen earth and fallout 76... ai are so stupid its retarded so then your dropping tons of money on graphics since you can barely hide the simple coding or whatever

this is slightly a concern to me because 3d modelling is alot easier then drawing sprites... not top down sprites, thats simple but im not really digging the whole using top down sprites over the ragnarok sprites because it would be 100% perfect but i simply cant

seriously once you design a texture you can slap it onto the shoddiest arm or leg and itll look like a master piece

i saw people posting pictures of skeith

lets ignore the fact that his style is perfect for animating with, you could always add the spaces between the arms later, not sure this is what concerns me

still... ive played rpgs since i was a tadpole and always found older stuff 100x harder , while now we do get super hard modes, mostly just being MEAT BAGS AND HAVE TO BE PERFECT FOR 10 MINS NOT JUST 2 MINUTES... which im ok with... but still why did everything have to be so different and why could things get more elaborate end games?

im not sure... and ive followed many devs and thought about it most of my life... like how the hell is a game boy game made... or a digital camera for that matter

idk but the point is i really need to go look at some other things... maybe not now but in a few months

but for now until i get assassinated I will just use ragnarok sprites and just try and match it...

So im quitting making my own sprites, for the time being ill just keep trying to make them as close to ragnarok as possible, not too hard but... itll take a while getting things to look good

First off i need the first job sprite,

The one in the primary timeline, note there is no undead players ( but i am replacing doram with a god like race that is maybe invisible and you can just spawn zombies and activate traps... I wanna include this in the first time line though )

Since were almost done mapping wise, i wanna do that now

Replacing and editting the existing sprites will just look better all together, and a new thing i wanna do is make graphical changes to the armor, like spikes... padding and other thing, the only downfall is the whole palletes never matching your hats... the only choice really is to have items released or obtained as a non dyed version and just craft dyes...  I gotta think of some hats we can use though


so yeah so far i removed the stupid ribbons on the thief sprite


Almost done, but thinking about hats and clothing... I dont see a point in useless cosmetics like a plad collar or a rainbow bow tie... I do like designing them but the plan is to seperate visuals between head/body/other as planned but when your wearing armor, you just get some beam-y aura that states the armor rarity and possibly extra glow for extra things, making the ARMOR slot a slot you wanna REPLACE with your COSTUME SLOT... I see it adding a bit more incentive to my game.. but pretty sure we can disable the costumes for certain events,  revealing the original armor auras

Heads... well i can make a few caps and stuff but maybe ill have to change my lore a bit, make up , bandanas, and stuff make ok costumes i guess ... so ill leave it empty mostly, and just add my heads, possibly improved realism...

then if anyone plays we can add our own costumes :>

then ill save garment visuals for other things,

not exactly sure how were gonna go with gear but biomods/implants will fill up half the slots like this 1 major implant , 3 minor implants...

Im just pumped for my custom skill effects >_<

Finished with the sprite, and the weapon templates, i just wanna experiment with swing effects and different bullet things, because the ARROW is connected with ARROWSHOWER graphically... im gonna save these 2 for something else

So the 1 down side is no indiction of where im shooting other then the blood, and the bullet animation that we normally see attached...

I dont really care since itll be mostly obvious

Next issue is the head problem, If i change 1 head i gotta change them all and i had to flip them around

wasnt sure if i wanted to split the character creation between

male = undead, female = human

then the heads are all shown for undead and seperate from human... whatever it should be fine, just gotta pick the head you want... but then the issue is the preview being the original gender <_< wew fantastic character screen i love it


the streets are so empty and im changing the car thing again... gotta do that maybe ill just use my models or something easily found online

also need some more trash and filler

fix up the 4 maps i have and finish the rest of the town  /no1

zombie master had a good base so im just gonna build on top of it after i remove the mohawk and tattoos

20 frames at 25 ms secs? thats nuts but its not that bad....its my favorite part but as expected gonna have to keep ripping off ragnarok

almost done, half way done with my attack sprite, I wanted it to bring up its arm and swing it horizontally, might add a red clawwing effect with it

I wanted to make a few different death animations, although very possible to link animations to skills.... by transforming the monster...I might do this for a few things, but for now im gonna smash its head a few different ways and stuff like that

I thought i could make a 100 frame death animation, would the monster just lay there dead for 100 frames? No idea..

trying to make 2d sprites half 3d is way more painful then 3d only >_<

was looking at spikes, it looks meh with a s*** 1 minute texture gonna have to try more , might be more suited for wood

and those cloaked foot steps could make a good blood dripping ... way to lazy to do these things now though

I finished another half of a sprite, mostly spent the day familiarizing myself with these new tools

I can finally make them animated and not all twitched out

After i finish this thing up , ill add 2 more bugs and the lantern guy again

Then back to the mapping... dogs sound good but to early for them imo..I have a ton of ideas but, im still trying to think of a way to put it together >_>

Finished the walking animation , well most of it once i get the staff in i can apply detail but i had issue with pallette capacity...

anyways i figured something out that reduces the density of pixels it wound up with this


it took 1 button and it considered all my lighting stuff and shading ... im kinda shocked with this alien technology

so i gotta restart but use less pixels  /no1 /omg /ok

this obviously isnt an issue for everything though...ill just have to save both in case i get assassinated

if i cant keep my original sprite, like i was able to do for the worm (so far) its not too bad..

you can hardly see the difference unless you zoom in and squint >_>

Thanks lol, making the backs is possible... just a huge pain

Ive been working on the idle animations for the hooded guy and finished the walking anims until i figure out some more tricks


after hes done, ill whip up a bug and centipede for his spawnings... or maybe something different all together like a gore slab of insects... then back to the surface yet again

he wasnt spawning worms originally, was merely testing the sprite on test ids

but heres me playing :


If there was 0 backs you would never know that it was a feature, pretty sure the only skill that involves directions in that sense was what... back stab? and that move sucked... but eventually ill have nothing to do but work on detail oriented stuff


I think he looks awesome, the worm needs some slime though... hmm he might be a bit too big tho or rather the worms are too small >_________<

He still needs attack/death animation but it can wait till the last few steps

So generally/comparitivly speaking :


imo im gonna lack finer detail in anything i make... i mean i could probably have thought of more details but just getting the sprite alive was enough work... ill just hold off any detail work till later ... besides that I figured out the tools and stuff...  much less an issue with 3D art though

the worm looks pretty real but thats the size, probably wont get away with too many of those though

but the zombies i made already have backs... i thought yes it would be good right away for somethings... stealth/detection related stuff... guess we'll see how it goes


move inspired by a speedrun i did, itll be locust streaming in on target, thanks to mods weve made earlier

however theres an issue with that... monster being targetable for one.. but if the target couldnt move, there would be no such issue at all

Today I planned on cleaning my database and grf in preparation to release... tons of errors, but im really hoping theres nothing sneaky i forgot... but it should be fine >_< ( already removed renewal and it seemed ok )

Lets say farewell to my old stufff...






The dot hack stuff will remain , however will be untouched... for a long time, if forever.

That train cart took me some time to come up with though jeez... first map besides the actual station ( before the infestation no pictures) or my ragnarok stuff

that other stuff is just piling up and someone one day might try using it and might try to blame borf or syouji

Its been quite a road...

Should have done it earlier but was bust with a new avatar/signature that failed

Besides that just working on the new skill effect for the tobi, since its not top down it needs to be on an angle sort of like earth quake, gotta play around but need to clean up first

- now i got my apartment map with a bunch of sprite errors... probably nothing just invisible sprites used in the editor due to the changes in the name

Hello, Im not dead, and i still have internet.  /no1

I have been working a bit today on a few things seeing how i have nothing to procrastinate over ( seriously doing some server things is annoying)

So with the help of the people at Turbosquid, they provided me a beautiful model , that of course, wasnt painted for ragnarok and i had to go over everything very carefully... needless to say it went perfect

Also ignore the floor, I need to triple the size as it didnt work how it looked in the modeler


It looks AWESOME

My new sand though... Im still learning some tricks, i could move to blender maybe with a bigger user base and tutorials... but I have this thing down for ragnarok... still learning new things every time i open it though  /heh

Anyways i need this park stuff done, even though most of the basics are completed for the town it is lacking finer detail ( Although ALOT of things look great [ because i am importing REALLIFE textures into ragnarok ] ) Some things like the traffic light is a bit meh... but i wanted to add effects to it


gotta push the doors and windows in...  The windows are fine... but i think ill have to make a different door, not see through.. no idea why i made the commercial doors for residential...  /hmm

Thats it for now, I didnt plan anything for tomorrow but probably just gonna add a swing set and maybe fix the doors... not sure

Lazy day today but i did do a few things :

I finished the swing set to an acceptable point

And i was screwing around with bromedit and the seesaw... unfortunately i wasnt really paying attention to borf when he was showing off bromedit animations, apart from how to make things move..... i didnt figure out how to change textures IN the software. So next time i make it i have to seperate the seat from the base like the swing... this isnt a AAA game so idk man i can still do it though  /heh

btw the see saw doesnt keep knocking back and fourth cause i only made it 6 seconds long and i need to like triple it or so for the next version


No sand? Well apparently the new version of the sand pile i made was crashing my server, no idea why but ill just not do it that way... apprently the hardest thing to do is the sand

Why am i making animated park stuff? Meh seemed like a good place to start

I have a theory for making animated stop lights , that arent just blinking effects because, if you spin youll see them... we can dig up an example but it doesnt look too good

Thats it for now, after i finish the see saw and sand, i need some park benchs which is simple af and then we can finish the town and improve a few things

I tend to do the whole rough draft thing... i mean it could just be me being lazy but whatever lol

So i wanted to make a boss actually the biggest boss ( no joke ) using models... and animations

if you remember these sink holes


Ive decided to go with a

A demon so heavy the earth couldnt support him, It crashed down and hangs on for some reason... his foot steps reek the city


so im gonna have to break it up but heres the plan

He punches through the area and his other hand CRUNCHES UP A BIT LIKE A FIST all systematically

It hammers the area 3 times

So if i replace a trap with a huge donkey animated model... i can have all the attacks coming in a pattern right

And the area would have indicators cause you wont be able to see his other arm too well .. i have an idea

so smash smash crush crush

so if i add it to a trap itd be like a spawnable instance sort of thing... ready up and trigger the trap and he spawns on a timer with all the groud attacks...

Might be possible... I can see it but we'll see i guess >_<

He'll be one of the strongest bosses in the first era... so fighting him will require the best characters in the time... so lets say you looted real military equipment or some gizmo... probably not gonna use a fire axe on him ...

since the first era will be a bit more basic, while the job advancment will be retarded...

boring day today

I changed the bricks and went over the lighting and cracks...

oh yeah and if i ever get assassinated i took a note :
- have to switch to 3d
- lose a few maps maybe half idk why  but models are safe. . still keep same idea and field style tho... technically i can save my map lay outs
-all 2d art goes into garbage can <- sad but no real use for it after wards

still got lots of textures though.. guess it could be worse mabinogi 3 will be out soon anyways

got a constructino site / worm hill over the sub way and then a school or 2 with a few other random buildings

Hi besides real life things i have been working on something


I finished the ambulance, Its pretty good, i dont need to make any significant changes but I wanted to open the doors and get a table for bodies on wheels going scene

we need more lights... smog and smoke i can fill the streets with only so much garbage

things i need to do :
police car
fire truck
fork lift
and a few other things like generators and steel girder things ( im thinking of a mini dungeon out of the building being built.. but an acrobatic dungeon we'll see

then i can finish building this city...

itll be really nice to have something to build off of, i could make a bunch of cool things but no real point IMO, easy to replace a block with a point of interest and not easy to improve without slaving in the 3d editor

but itll be fun to do underground stuff again, laboratories, and stupid s*** like bioshock remake... it wouldnt take long either just being helba isnt enough you know

Hmm when i first started, we tried a bunch of things and now we got it all completed

just a few tiny things and ill be done with this... for now I wanna do some spriting and other things.


Every map is the size of prontera field

So I wanted to double it using all the pieces Ive made and then make a DOWN TOWN tile set... I drew something a long time ago and i know what i want

along with that we got the apartments mini dungeon and the other field, the subway tunnles infested

With over 100+ new modern models... we can easily build alot of interiors but, i actually got millions of pictures for textures for use

Also we went over how horrible the client graphics are set up... i wish i knew but its not easy to edit  /pif

Our warp will be sort of blood fire flies ? lmao it looks fine but its shared with our existing blood splash, the other pieces have to stay transparent


And last notes regarding this project, ive decided i think were gonna use weapons in hat sprites definitely, ive barely started :P and use weapon sprites as effects... im thinking arrows and other stupid things

So if youve followed you should know im a fan of dot hack and prepared lots for it... I wanna open a server soon, next year anyways... like this:

-Pre renewal Rathena server ----------- Ill be doing things and adding some third job skills to pre renewal LIKE I STARTED AGES AGO but, less touchy touchy on the main features, I want this to be familiar to people who played ragnarok Woe and other things... but generally split the two until i can manage a few players
(me? I dont really care much for pvp ragnarok I love it but i dont woe so i need sheep, ive rocked assassins and soul link tank in woe emperiums for lols but thats it really)

- main town will be, not sure yet :) but maybe a NEW mac anu...
>key word system for randomly designed ( but man made ) maps, chunks of existing gravity maps and stuff i steal can be added as a key word from other people, even if i gotta balance it, itll be simple

>BUT, Mac Anu/dot hack will be SEPERATE, meaning the home town will be PRONTERA and you can start the dot hack stuff by hitting the portal there, or use normal wapra stuff ... itll be balanced

Someone has asked me to split with them before but i wasnt interested... im gonna have to figure out all this server side nonsense though and then figure out what im gonna do but hopefully we can get a kicking ragnarok server

99 but this will depend on weather or not people wanna pvp with me or just be gay

Got my Rathena server up and going

Since the primary theme of the server is dot hack, a few things are changing to the vanilla gravity stuff

Starter town prontera is changed to this with a removed fountain


some model conflictions but its ok

I took the time to build a real portal model, since i can now :D art level up boys

then i wanna do this


however, the area around the portal in prontera, that sends you off to Macanu  is clean, itll be clean and all map variants will be clean and considered a BACK UP OF MIDGARD ? thinking about it (Like the place you start will be infected with this , but once you get to prontera youll see the portal clean , but all iro dungeons will be filled right... but if you take the portal to macanu and start the dot hack stuff, youll get to play on the clean versions of the maps)

Obviously this could take a big of time but rather simple to fill the pre renewal world with

off topic from the primary goal but all for the same thing

So i went through a bit of prontera and slapped on a bunch of these layers, maybe over doing it but itll probably look good once i put more work into it lol


but ill be working on this server mod for ragnarok for the next 2 weeks, in the mean time ill be gathering resources for my personal thing

go through every pre renewal quest and complete them, taking quest things like, kiehl quest, unlocks a word that might include more alices or something

do all the wapra dungeons, and make a nice infection version for all of them, probably not doing any of the new world stuff...

I was hoping to include pvp... so spliting the skill code 2 ways does work but the idea of infection then clean world with my mod ? ill split the pvp simply enough

but ima keep it to myself for the next bit and talk to you again soon

Hi ive been working a bit this week on some things

Mostly stalker/assassin stuff since im making a PvM mod before PvP im just gonna ignore it atm

I removed and changed all the strip skills except for fullstrip


hell gatling, pretty much using smgs and the grimtooth skills


hell spike, in changes between 2 animations , one that stuns


this smg one is a 4x shot gotta change it apprently


full bloom, i have another version planned ( no choice )

they all have sound

So i finished a good portion of the rogue/stalker tree, but more about this in a bit

Working on some fallen_angel adjustments  , now it hits everyone you land on, no need to cast desperado anymore


this however will be used in the assassin tree , was simply experimenting

So first off i need to do this :
go through all my jobs, and adjust the pre renewal skills, and if i cant think of any ( only really an issue for stalker/bard/dancer) then incorporate the third job stuff right away

then once im happy ill fill in what i want if needed and use third job mechanics where i deem fit

edit: ah right, since im collabing hack and ragnarok we wanna give everyone elements... so a few things will be saved for that, but theoritically, i could make STALKER FIRE STALKER WATER, novice classes, that are grabbed before the rebirth? could work but havnt thought too much just gonna rip everyone down first

and the mapping is going along fine

but 3d animation sounds really good... i wanna do something on Unreal but theres no point in making an FPS out of ROpocalypse . . maybe

Nothing ever goes as planned, so i dont plan much :/

But luckily the floors and models texture IDs are seperate so thats nothing to worry about... cause i do like the way the models get eaten up ( most of the time ) So its something ill have to look into a bit more... however for the fields i was thinking of filling it up with something like this, not this is particular im just showing off this mess

So my adventure begins again, im gonna relevel all my dudes and play through their quests, see what i can do and then once i do my job changes :
assassin > first thing i get martin jur and take it to the top floor and get 3 skeleton workers(thats something most assassins would do without spoon feed or make a sniper, this is irrelevant though now) > then probably re work porcellio but thats in the other continent which is annoying...

Hello ... The past 2 weeks or so i was moving around IRL and working on sorting and pasting all the sprites onto organized sheets, completed but unusable... I mean i can place them in my game and stuff but they just do the animations... unusable

But today i took the time to start my adventure into the mapping on the unreal engine... geting off topic

Ive figured out alot of it, cliffs, painting and pathing, trasnparency and practically every feature of browedit but on unreal , dont miss it but i still need it open to view the maps:




feels a bit desolate in first person, but ill figure something else

besides that it looks pretty much like it... the cliff could be a bit darker but i need to play around with this alien software


If you dont close me i can post more  . . . indoor maps should be a snap but ill need to make my own ceilings

Moving inside i realize the walls arent totally made flat top for ceilings... but i quickly figure out the collision and things going ok



but now i figured out many collision and importing tricks, things are easy. BUT there seems to be issues with the bigger builds, they arent showing materials propeerly and i gotta go through some of them... Its a good things ive stared at these textures for 3 years , but there is a way to locate them exactly... pretty convenient


next up i build the floor texture for prontera, should be okay... the problem with using the imported floors is that you need to make a new back drop either way, and if you do, its pretty hard to f*** replicate what ragnarok had without making it in browedit and importing it... kinda defeats the purpose, so im trying to build it myself, even if i gotta make tiles of it >_> probably not


finished prontera mostly just gotta do the colision and the back drop, but gonna build my way to glast heim now... gonna be sick, mostly done with the bull s*** too

Oh the past few days have been horrible,
Not that bad but holy s***

I got my animations in and im starting to grasp it, luckily the sprite flip book is kinda useful and i dont need to even look at the 3d animation stuff till effects probably


I gutted the fps stuff and fixed my camera to lock the rotation

Major issues with compatibility, its almost non existent and buying stuff seems to be merely like buying a tutorial... but i got one and i should be able to get the head and hats incorporated, as i did see the sockets for sprites too..

The combat i planned to have it obviously first person, using physics in the projectiles among other things.. it should be cool once i get on board

Just imagine when sonic does his woosh woosh woosh in the air, we'll use the weapon effects and hopefully that should be easy too

Just curious cause some games the FISTS and KUNCKLES of a giant boss are solid... but sometimes they arent which makes me wonder how that works. . . .

anyways im not dead yet  /no1

oh with all that in mind, its obvious that ill be able to add my own animations for jumping and attacking... alot of stuff ive learned in ragnarok doesnt really help me since i joined and got familiar with src quickly, stats and stuff were in everything... but all ive done is pixels art and painting textures... im just glad we got that going lol

The past couple days have been exciting but ive been trying to calm down on a chemical level

I havnt done too much in unreal but im looking for some more stock resources, on top of everything i had prepared for ROpocolypse ( LOTS )

But now i can even consider more abstract things


Got a few good ideas from some un reachable textures , and hopefully we can make nice use of the sky box and everything

But besides that i plan on preparing the rest of the ragnarok sprites and getting them into a nice importing style

Now that thats out of the way I can easily replicate most ragnarok effects, but first thing i need to set up some sort of stylist just to have something to stand on and maybe an npc if possible  /heh

but im assuming this is how its mostly done, its 360 view when centered is probably half the effects you know with a trail attached

a few skills i liked are the ones that use tree roots and tree branches... and we look at grim tooth how its a model or physical object, I cant tell if they drew it or made a 3d animation... pretty sure its 3d but ill have to find out or maybe suffer the brutal 3d modeling programs

but besides that using the particle effects i can make it rain and add a cloud to make it seem 3d , we'll have to figure out a way to orgranize skills and a hot bar eventually after we get a few npcs going

Hmm I was working on the menus for a while today and sure it half worked... Gotta figure out whats wrong with this


I did design a rough idea for my menu... just getting it to show is being annoying, gonna have to look through it all

but idk what else were gonna do today

definitly getting intresting... now im probably gonna spend 50 hours trying to get my menu looking dank ( yeaaa i have to reduce the reflective-ness of the light )

and done with that,

not sure how were gonna do the windows tho but next i have to make a layer for every button so we can hover over them for a bit of glow, then again on clicked, and whatever else they do


Finished mostly, gotta flip the stupid graphics and prolly change them

but the windows will be the same i guess

now to customize my sprite....

and i managed to attach a head, need to make it like a character selection though hmmph  /pif

Today i have been preparing sprites for the transfer but also thinking about the attacking style

Like I initially planned for the basic left click and right click will be similar to :
a simple blue slash wave . . . and maybe block or alt attack

but for spells besides projectiles we need a grid

So since its an fps my grid is locked on my which allows for directional spells

Gonna use the same method i used to attached the head to build a grid we can do s*** like fire walls and other gay stuff

Reminds me of the herc brandish spear tbh

So after I get a menu sorted out along with all that crap ( actually i realized how much of the game is played in the menu lately )

Then i need to learn to map a bit better

There we go  /no1 even if its not functional i can still make stupid s***

So as happy as we were with ragnarok customs ive had to take the time to serious get used to unreal ( If you can recall all the ranting i was having )

Well the switch is 70% done... Most features have been planned and accounted for , few things mostly npc scripts and functions are obviously not the intended goal , as ragnarok itself serves a learning chair for me... not sure how this is gonna end

But today i figured out how to simply use variables in the way were familiar with in ragnarok

If ( blag blah  [true or false]
 > send whatever commands

litterally the first thing i learnt here but finally got it going on unreal


the other 30~% is mostly stats, monster AI and item dropping

Should be simple enough really

Finishing up my menu now that we got this going and hopefully see something tomorrow

Hmm im gonna show you guys how to pull a variable and use it. . . this was bugging me all day

1) Create and make sure the variable you want to work with exist where you want to get it from ( the blueprint you are trying to export it to, DOES NOT need it, Gold variable ONLY exists with my GAME INSTANCE and im trying to use it in my MAIN MENU
2)Go to your MAINMENU or whereever you wanna use this variable AND SET UP A REFERANCE TO IT, Litterally just type in the name of the blue print and hit the blue one where you add a variable
3)Select and drag him onto your blue print... and pull the thingy and type get, now our variable that we referenced to is showing...
4)Then you can use it

So much f*** crap on the internet  /wah

Whyd it take so damn long to figure this out...

working on the new window, also fixed the lighting so it looks like Ragnarok again

Im gonna make it a lot flashier but i think we got the base down

I can see custom windows / UIs in the future rather simply but... gonna finish this and then fill it all in with all the ragnarok stuff - so i dont need to worry about it anymore

Pretty much done with this stuff, ill probably have it put together by tomorrow morning but...

and im finally done my menu stuff

Mostly anyways, ive figured out how to get it all together... now i just need to get the character  stats and equipment slots and hotkeys ... then well be done

man i sit here everyday and no one ever mentions this stuff to me, obviously i never needed it before but now i see the trick to photoshop... s*** i even asked the other day the same question but reddit potato'd out


after re formatting my laptop 2 times i noticed something in photoshop, the stupid styles...

apparently you can add a light source, to photoshop then you can raise or lower curves based on alphas... which im totally familiar with but yeah... i was wondering how to make stuff so glossy ... but now i can just flip on a custom style on my existing stuff

also did you konw you can add a shadow to layers? I could do it by hand but with the accuracy of a robot. its amazing

Hmm i made more widgets ( sitting on about 200+ images atm )


Not sure exactly what im going to do but it seems like we can hit 60 fps and maybe ill put these 2 things together

the 3d style is a bit experimental and lacking fine texture but if i decide to continue we'll have to see  /heh

but the menu is the most important part of my game, so its gotta be good... pretty sure i said 40 hours ? maybe more >_<

( for the right i was thinking of having them fall in like a strip, and rotate around in 3d, turning into a button wheel.... but It needed a base)

So im finally done with photoshop, litterally impossible to get any better at widget construction ( visually ) , now i have theorized a bunch of things to do tomorrow,


Its a bit silly how much there is to a template... but making progress is nice  /lv

So far everything is looking really solid though, gonna be screwing around a bit the next couple days but in the mean time will be creating a few assests for my demo

Well after playing with a few different projects ... I think its really alot of work trying to build a database full of functions relating to inventory control to interaction range...

Im gonna have to pay 400$ for a good one, its pretty much ragnarok -

I think it would be statistically wise to update this but pretty irrelevant to ragnarok at this point

Just kidding but Ive been working hard on learning the Unreal Engine and Blender 3D modeling havnt quit but havnt really made ANYTHING until the other day...

I made a bunch of rough drafts and crap but all that aside


Not gonna show off much more then ive developed a pretty decent traffic system that can take further commands likes cars crashing and stuff

This scene in particular is taken from the tutorial area ( but we do re visit it later )

So due to the weight of VFX and lighting and everything trying to get 60FPS in a zone like this is easy but at the cost of 20 frames it looks 3 times better.... not a big deal


I was thinking about how I can get monsters and enemy AI to interact with a HUB zone like this , and was thinking of having another light... red yellow green but Orange right for emergencies?

Peds could follow the same system leaving their cars on the streets where they were and running away

So that said yeah i learnt the rest of the "Basics" of coding or whatever even if its just through the blueprints and tools

Vectors are dumb

And still i dont really believe that its not flawless? But no idea how to test for errors in code besides hitting all the buttons

Feels like maybe theres a template i would want to follow for armor and clothing... sounds like alot of work to set up and not necessary right now

Things are slowly shaping, easy to upgrade and its pretty much just gogogo now

A few things I can show you guys

Thats around the time after I made a bunch of skyscraper pieces and put it together. although THAT is the way I should be modeling with you know textures,

for these buildings I have 3 different levels of details for them,

Just duged out windows with lighting in the MAIN scenes
as we get farther I replace the skyscrapers with flat versions of them
and so on less emissive less rendered


playing aroud with the shader in its default state, looks pretty sweet


I made this dog ( the one of the right ) a long time ago and felt OK i got sculpting and rigging its time to move on........

The one on the left is from one of the resident evils, I was just kinda looking at it

Notice it has a little doggy pee pee

Man theres alot of s*** but dunno when ill have a new post for ya'll

Not exactly realistic, nor abstract... but practical.. it will remain this way until I start working on the game mechanics

These randomly generated cars make for some real nice screen shot filler though  /heh


Ill probably be done with this street by the end of the day also in case your wondering about my code and stuff

Everything is set, I got this jigsaw inventory i need to accomedate for , if you remember one of my last posts were talking about how there is just so many functions and all this crap that yeah... I can deal with now but its really hard to copy

I dont really like the idea of using it cause theres bound to be some bug .. .exploit.. If you saw what I had you may understand my concern

that said ----- that 400$ pack ?  All those functions and stuff... Not to mention multiplayer replication? I dont even know what that is yet but it should be fine lol

This is getting even more off topic but I have plans for a Pokemon game some day, it should be cool and all these hours i put into designing these sort of scenes will be useful when it comes to rebuilding pokeman'z, Although they exist already and many dream of it... its still alot of work

All these were taken from my editor view port so no vechicles and alot of things are rendered that are usually procedurally removed ^_^

So I finished my street and you know making a store front is a snap now
Although im not using real life textures, Im making these 100% however im not gonna show close ups of anything really  ( I am using cement and metal textures though to physically make the materials
Lots of editting


We did add a bit of variation to some buildings


But it seems im gonna need to add a bended sign or something? Smaller doesnt sound too good but maybe change what this store is totally


Since the mapping technique is 70% complete we can descend down into the alley which is blocked by fog...

At this point the game becomes procedural as this street just serves as a major point of interest

If your wondering about my shader settings well this is 100% no post process besides a little added bloom and saturation to bring out the colors , the material shader I have is completely code based and super light weight... I dont even use unreal light bulbs that much besides interior maps WHICH ARENT SEPERATE LEVELS

I put together my jigsaw inventory similar to diablo and such but still gotta think of how im gonna build my skill trees.... Maybe ill mix my s*** in ( not s*** i learned it from a JRPG and minecraft template )

So i doodled up some Item Icons for the Jigsaw inventory,

In case your wondering that is a inventory like in diablo, titan quest and path of exile

SO i needed my own Icon right and well....

Im sure you can tell by now Ive never picked up a pen and drew much in my life...


I have a few more and i mean for some reason im pretty good at drawing in 3D... but its just those tiny details i never really fill up.... Reminds me of something i red in a One Piece manga 

Someone asked the creator what Aces happy/sad face thing meant... and the reply was its just filler.. These things are hard to imagine but i mean... whatever lol

Long time ago i spoke about how i wanted to set up armor in ROpocalypse and we wanted spinning colored crap well... all those different shades of black/white will change colors depending on weapon skin ( patterns? )

Then we'll see about the borders and stuff... need to research a bit

In case your wondering about the combat well I have everything prepared but its gonna be fairly simple with a really good skill/learning curve

Kinda a balanced Warframe... 

So actually i finished the tux mostly


Dont really spend more then an hour on these things ... really really easy to upgrade like ive said 10 times already

Since all the textures are organized its just a matter of re mapping the UV onto the new textures, GG

Wanted to give him a Tie not a Bow but ill deal with it later... after im done this i have to re organize my code and we can move on



Still perfecting it takes a bit of time, My shoes could use a huge make over some day...

Actually I was thinking about how to do it... Weather to snap all the verts together or what... seems like professional work is all in 1 right... so most things are snapped mostly just tight clothing but

if you look from the bottom you could see through the backface ... Not exactly sure what thats about but i mean if you took a bit of time sure...

and the female variants... could use a skirt but not this version

Right so id be lying if i said I was just starting these things... nah most of it is actually completed just has to be put together


Animation based combat, notice that little block its just a representation of the hit box ...

I mean send an attack function once with multi hit or splash enabled? Just like the emulator... I mean... Im sure itll turn out fine.....

A shooter is Easy , just gore and popping off heads doesnt really see much animation usually...


Also incase your wonderinf I do have the inventory set up sadly... It would take me a week to fix but im not gonna touch that until i get this released AND if its a problem


Everything looks good , the head stuff needs more work

And no noticable flaws in the underwear...

So like I do have to play with the lighting a bit but all an all its starting to look like a game without the use of anything weird .....

Soo that was stressful ( not really but annoying )

Upgraded my database and changed a few things around...

The whole interaction between players and monsters is completed, next up im gonna be finishing my map and a few more visually things...


Making physics assests in unreal engine is so dam annoying wondering if blender/maya would convert properly but guess it dont matter... but like if you want an arm to bend you gotta adjust everything like angle and the actually physical region

But an annoying thing about unreal is this f*** capsule

BTW i have used the particle editor like once or twice...

Ok so i had to fix so many things and just so much boring stuff but its finally finished

Thats nice but what about progress

Well i worked on the lock on and strafing system some more and right now its just really basic but its pretty good pretty acurate i mean as it is now you wouldnt notice unless you really wanted to bust me


Its actually in the middle of being tweaked so the inner circle is a bit messed up compared to the outer circle . . .

Also made a cooler sprinting animation


Gotta do the jumping and stuff but idk which im gonna do first combat or movement well prolly movement.

man its looking awesome

Also was looking at another game i played i usually compare mechanics and stuff and find it funny when i bump into a "problem" on my project and test it in another game to see oh look they got the same problem lol

I put together my locomotive tree a bit adding over 20 animations from different speeds to jumping and running and a bunch of other cool stuff

after playing with the movement capabilities of the default engine last night for a few hours.. its not bad... nothing i really have to do... besides . . .

I will probably set up parkour and ledge collision over the next few days.. gonna have to watch some videos cause im potato man

Right so ive been doing stupid stuff the past few days but managed to finish well most of the ledge grabbing and stuff...


The still jump is really old but.. it kinda works really need alot of work over... BUT


The issue isnt totally the animation or my character but the map, i need to remake the colision so im sure after that itll be alot smoother

Cant really use the Navigation... I keep teleporting around using it even if its a bit more accurate... not exactly sure whats going on but ill test it out after i remake the collision

the animations them selves are pretty good, everything is ready to be updated at some point soon


Sooo +1 to the WIP pile lol

Moving on a bit

Im playing with 40 frames with good lighting and post processing on this map... which is fine for a HUB....but i havnt even built the main interior which will probably drop to 30 FPS... maybe?

I guess ill build the bar and get the sort of intro i had planned going along with character creation...

if i just ignore everything about this parkour system tomorrow morning when i wake up and just switch to mapping again it should be fine i mean... not much i can do until i fix my maps

dam root motion is reliable but probably something horribly wrong with it somewhere

Alright so i did less then i wanted to today but i rewrote the functions i use to fill these textures up and put together the base for this bar

It hasnt been easy but im getting comfortable at least..


First off  ive been working on creating a system to procedurally generate ... well vending machines, not so much the shape but the design on it... as it is i only have 1 back ground but 5 stamps for them


right so i though these were already PRETTY good ( that waterfall one needs to be fixed xD )

But i was looking at all my other ads and realized i needed MORE then just this.. so i learnt how rendering worked and instead of going out to buy some coke and make some icecubes i learnt the bit of blender i was ignoring and made this one :


Although the design is a bit iffy i think itll pass

im probably just gonna STOP at this and move on to other things,

ATM is next, along with the new telephone design

I really hope were busting some donkey by the end of the month...

Alright so the past few days ive been working on finishing these models a bit.. more like... getting them nicely fit into the code and cleaned up....


I got these in game and organized them + added over 30 different brand named goodies to the pile..

Most of it looks good, but i kinda wanna move forward a bit more

Remember a long time ago i made blinds for the apartments that were cyan? totallly lazed out and made cyan and bubblegum colored chocolate bars


lots of little things i wanna do... now though we can actually deal with them since my code is all organized and i got a little more room to edit and not stress over the problems i might have been avoiding   /no1

sooooooooooooooo the next day or 2 i will still be making assests and branded good

hopefully by the end of the month im back to working on my character animations.. still need a character creator though, that will come in when im done with this place though

wont take too long lol

e: Oh and im also reviewing my map and looking over my errors in geometry so we can hopefully rebuild the next map without any problems, cracks or sneaky mistakes.. im still thinking about what to do with the world... doesnt take long to actually build a scenerio you have pictured but... I dont have any combat finished so were not really gonna know what its like until its over :(

So moving on a bit ive been looking at a bunch of videos and absorbing everything i could and already learnt a bunch of new stuff today... awesome

So i needed more potato chip shots and was like well couldnt i just make a particle editor... anyways f*** that i added a funnel and enabled physics and boom we got this awesome stream of potato chips

and i finished up dealing with my materials blueprints... everything seems to be in order... back to making these things a bit better and get some more larger assests in place...


but we do find some s*** within the alphas... fixable but ill have to go over these until we find a nice balance

So the past few days ive been practicing blender and well we have another set of rules to follow and i managed to clean up everything


Got fridges, stoves setup and they looks great

the vending machines are perfect

ok but i feel that the map looks a little TOO good ?  Its kinda awkward right now but i think i need to do a little research and look through some games...

Also lets take a look at the town ( without traffic )


So now i really gotta make the gameplay... like i know WHAT i want but i need to design a system that flows well and interacts well with the map

But the 3d modeling is going awesome.... im supe satisfied with my map so now we just gotta you know make it procedural

This month is going to be dedicated to character design and movement . . . although we spent a good 2 weeks on it this month... well its ALL going into it next month

I really wish i could deal with my materials a little easier but whatever... a few more minutes

and its like clear that the programming and animations are there ... lots to think about ...

I think we might have to step down a bit because im aiming WAY to high ...

we'll see we'll see we'll see

Well nothing to really post just been looking over things and thinking about the future... I did try fixed camera positioning and it looks great and super smooth


So about the game

Pretty sure im gonna say Hold your horses to the shadowrun bladerunner city .. looks good in my portfolio tho

Why? Well its cause theres too many animations to deal with

So im gonna make something a little simpler.....

Im thinking State of Decay style, with mini dungeons that are procedural....

im curious how big i can make the map tho

Realistically speaking a BIG CITY NYC style city...well building 100 blocks of sky scrapers is a huge pain in the donkey

this makes me sad

Not really sure how were gonna do this but im gonna start small and keep going

Have you ever seen the game called " Days Gone " ? LOL...

Anyways i pulled out the scanner and drew these plants up and the style is there and looks good but i need to work on the leaves


what sucks is like OK i can photoshop stuff but mixing hand drawn accurately with filling in shopped leaves... wew another level ..

ill probably just practice drawing... ?

So i finished the bigger shrub wall but i was looking at this one and idk what im going to do


right now just remaking everything ... would be nice to use premade stuff but just gonna practice

So i got up today feeling like a million bucks and made some landscape textures

they look so f*** good....

So ive finished up the last of my coding... well preperations

Now that i know how to use everything ( everything ? )

I successfully wrote a system for my 3d models and it looks great ... gimme a little bit and we'll really get going

So your probably wondering why i havnt done too much yet well

we really needed to learn how EVERYTHING WORKED...

Something about browedit was it took like 2 minutes to load up the textures and models then accessing the textures were pain all together cause it was laggy as hell

ancient software what can you do but even the browedit2 still doesnt do what i just finished

I wish it could be better but sadly a bit limited for some reason but not a huge deal really i just have to set stupid limits manually ( lol ironic )

So thats dealt with ................. still a matter of furniture gonna be a big problem unless i buy some so we'll deal with it later

Ill probably be screwing around with models i find online for a bit and then we'll build a small scene.... or large idk it doesnt really matter when i get what in but w/e

Alright so ive been pretty much trying hard to catch up to what I was working on before code wise and mapping wise and... Well im pretty dam close just dont have so many textures to edit due to limited stock i have access too

these are from my blender scene


and once added to my unreal itll look more like this

So whille digging out the underground parking instance area I realized i never added any basements



looks good really lol

but i probably wont be posting anymore ... for a while anyways because i wanna get this together and stuff

probably just gonna use the same idea as before .. thinking about everything i hate about the zombie survival games i play and making it all good

hopefully doesnt flop in game....

bus crash: aware of the hype over the epidemic but still trying to keep your normal life going, you are caught off guard... you start off with a house key, random, and you can go back home for supplies... or your equipment ... something.... or you can try and get to the evacuation point on foot from where you started

You start off in a random crashed BUS with a random HOUSE KEY... great idea past me

That said though the rounds would have to start on day 0, or its own difficulty all together right?

I think this will work out

Huge problem though is monster sounds... actually really depressing

6 hours later, we got 500 Zombies running around w shadows @ 60fps

Thats good but we can do better ..

/trying to get top of the page post

Alright so things going good right , building data as we speak smoothing it all out

Dealt with some knots, but i got hundreds of zombies spawning in 0 lag 40-60 FPS with FULLY carved out buildings that look dope as hell

Thing is i can save some peformance at the cost of size... apprently a fully coded scene isnt the best approach due to some limitations... kinda stupid but nothing i can do about it...

Also having trouble posting videos and gifs rn on this internet... my map map is about 60MB's not sure how the game will turn out when packed up and ready for play

sooooooooooo next up i can go a few different ways and kinda just chillen thinking about it :

1) More textures / Dirt / Torn up /   just making the map look good  ( trust me this looks dope )
2) Doors ( was leaning on this after my character was done? )
3) Finish up the current block / section ( Im like half done this section but I wanted to detail them and walk through them and change things making them perfect )
4) need and translucent material ( lol )

Generally speaking they all kinda just fall under 3

But i got a bunch of sound effects and things i wanna get working

I dont even have my characters or guns ready just some pissed out models that were just made for filler

well i did place and prepare like 20 guns ~

The actually difference in the players/monsters and the back ground models are a bit significant

I gotta think of an art style that suits how GOOD my map looks... I mean i could force the resolutions down like it looks in hell gate london.. its not even bad but its noticable

Not sure what were gonna do....what i mean is I could make something simpler with more custimization but it would look like junk compared to my map

ughhhhhh we'lll figure that out soon since everything is fine

ALright so i got into the development of character today and we finished all the placeholders and its pretty good but

I finished a system to have 3rd and 1st person

So you the player can switch and others will see you in third person

Not sure how its normallly done but i did it as clean as i could and it works well just gotta deal with a few kinks

We were thinking about the classes and probably just gonna avoid trying to attach any armor to my characters now, like stupid shirts and sweaters i mean i could rig them once and get it over with but mehhhhhhhhh

ragnarok dyes and strict jobs with hats and accessories sound a bit easier to deal with

going with the old idea

i kinda just wanna hole up in a 20 foot sky rise and snipe zombies for some reason xD....

so i hammered out this fps cam animation so theres no sway... i was curious why it would ever end up stuck like that but i made a dumbass mistake...

anyways moving on!


just realized you cant see the clouds... wonder why they arent rendered.....

Right so ill have another video uploaded tonight but lets get my first set of patch notes out lol

Added melee system, mostly finished could use another combo slot
Gun system pretty much ready could use more fire modes and variables + crosshair rip
stagger system needs some improvement

Also reorganized everything... need to delete a few things after we migrate a few more functions

Also got a bunch of zombie animations to deal with

So all in all its looks pretty good.... gonna add as much stuff as i can tonight

Nothing anymore but ill probably come back and launch a server since ive learnt how to program alot better someday

Ive also watched a dozen servers burn down and seen admin corruption if your interested

I think my favorite is killing the people at seals when they wont let you leech  /heh

Also finishing my interface probably wont be showing anything off until it gets on steam though hmmm

well before it was a north american apocalypse ... but i started making "Fantasy" ish biomes right like adding giant worms and bugs, and slime to the undergroud train tunnles and it looked great really.

So no not just zombies but everything horror

Inspired by Dark Eden

But something i originally wanted to do with the REAL ragnarok assests was expand on the world adding more fields and changing the maps around for example:

Payon Island was shrouded in darkness and overgrowth, and it became harder to navigate through Payon Island right so sometimes when you CHANGE maps your character COULD GET LOST in a random exagerated overgrown forest area...  ontop of the darker maps and even more poisonous monsters... some special MvPs only come out at night...

I say this because honestly think lots of this game goes to waste now with renewal instance being the main thing.. but ragnarok already ran its course.... and its not mine

but i also tried .hack// things and that looked sweet so were in a predicament ...


Im taking my Horror Game to Unreal Engine because i really need my own effects... and database but... I wouldnt mind making a custom ragnarok server

This topic is like 3 years old btw and the reason the first few pages are missing cause I kept getting trolled but realized i was just being overdramatic because either way id just continue but enjoyed typing things out.. and here we are 3 years later and im sitting on something really good and trolled alot less frequently  /no1

still dont think you could generate anything with that beyond what we remade with the keyword system where it just took chunks of map names

So ive been working on the logic for my dungeons and its going well but not posting to talk about that but actually another thing

Ive been working on a runescape account because this old game called Domain of Heroes doesnt exist anymore

And so i sit here in the New modern version with a real particle system and the game is fun but i was trying to figure out WHY i couldnt remake it with my current assests

Then i noticed the burnt trees of the wilderness and thought NAH that cant be it

So i teleported to lumbridge to find the (second) largest trees in the game the massic oak and willow trees

they are a bit tiny? I guess its just un realistic but still looks the part... it think thats it

So i finished putting everything together and im ready to build my game + resources all set and prepared to be used

but im kinda bored? not really but i felt like screwing around on the emulator

we'll see what i can do meanwhile ill be thinking about stuff and heres the last clip from my game


Still alot to do but the template is prepared and ready to be expanded on with assests and stuff

Im not sure what i was gonna do with ragnarok but i was gonna write a few scripts and make some procedural stuff its just kinda sucks how limited we are with the mapping and everything pretty well client side but... I thought it might be a nice little break while I think about how i wanna continue my game

I really need to release a beta though SO maybe ill think of a BETA release and then ya.

So i added my first developer joke today

So Sub quests will be found in all hubs right

These npcs will be the most beautiful and cool looking characters i can create at the time of my skill level

Your probably wondering how good I am so far well, lets keep that a secret BUT i will show you the first of my monster icons that will be used in the  " Current Target" interface normally found at the top along with other targets in moderate range...

Whats the joke?
The joke is that only side quest NPCs will have lewd girls... Which is coincidently a side quest of mine ( No time to draw just like someone may have no time for side quests )


He turned out great actually could see myself turning 3d models in 2d sprites some day, just some slime.. the bars are supposed to be tentacles but being avoided


And the sprites , one of the less impressive ones will generally be showed next to the scrolling text (more complicated then youd think)

Once i get the npc system updated ill move into the game a bit but this needs to be perfect

Actually while im here. .
I really wish i could draw like the pros at gravity but i litterally have no idea how. Im pretty good at photoshop though so results can be pretty good

so this morning i spent like 2 hours on "a chest template"

Whatever.... Its just related to my blogging for some reason....

Anyways were gonna go back a few years and combine my games and see how that goes...

So as far as character quality goes im a potato and cant spend more then 30-60 minutes on a model :(

Textures are another thing i love photoshop


Looks pretty good.. could be a bit more optimized

Finished the map outlines too


Probably look alot better later just testing things

tbh we didnt think much while we were designing the city streets a week after cyber punk was made but thats what inspired me at the time

Going back a few years, and a few more rules to follow...

Im going with this abstract distorted city... something silly maybe but im kinda stupid so its subject to many builds BUT were gonna try and do it on my first try


Something like this shot from the roof, normally hidden behind glass.. actually looks alot better


but ya.. were gonna step it up since i know how to fit a s*** load into the game without lagging ( theoretically )

and were gonna change my dungeon generator into a street generator ...

In case your wondering the only thing ive come up with was spawning bosses in parking lots... changed the general size of everything but still following real life streets... sorta cross roads upon cross roads? Maybe I should considering changing it ... good thing i thought of that now....

So hypothetically if we take everything we know, and just stick in a bunch of streets and builds ( BLOCKS ) we could make a randomly generated city

the actual impact of it shouldnt be too much and be easily fixxed later


still gotta make my movement system a little more like Mario and higher gravity.. should be fine lol

I was thinking about how to deal with elevations but idk im thinking fifth element sort of thing...

So after finishing the first set of tiles, I mean i could throw them in game now just to test my frames... probably should


There was an issue with keeping it generating properly cause the street entrance wasnt centered on the warped tiles rip

fixxed it just a matter of adding s*** to them now

also added my first grass patch ... hopefully everything scales well, not sure how much bigger we can go without screwing up plans we had for the "filler"


So it would look like this with no holes... 

i mean taking everything into consideration i can stiill fly at 70FPS with a bunch of models... and these only add up to a few thousand, still should be goooooooood

it becomes and issue once you start packing everything on top of each other but... further testing will be done

even after adding 10 times more we still hit 70 FPS 50-70..


so ya the MAPPING will be good except im not sure if i will be able to procedurally generate everything cause u cant rebuild everything AFTER you package the game...... SOOOOOOOO.... 30Frames vs procedural EVERYTHING is possibly debatable BUT nothing necessarally stopping you from generating a street, and just setting it as a map...

Actually 80fps up close.. 0 impact.. but... my machine isnt that bad...

then we go and slice some holes in a building and build some walls...


so in case someone is wondering if you could do it without blender you could if you want there is wall building tools but i only used it for navigation pathing for my cutscene

you can rewrap UVs in unreal blueprint except if your not a robot modeler the cube map probably will rotate.. idk i probably couldnt get it to work if i tried it lol

So ive decided that were going to avoid anything not too important but working.. takes a little longer then i want but whatever lol...


once i get 1 set of tiles done we can think about finishing it... want to say it will be done tonight but idk

oh right the purpose of this edit was to mention Modular Walls, lol.. 1 ) could be useful to save a bit of performance but the main use 2) just adding walls in without torturing the already pitiful mesh

... Not sure why but every time i use a boolean to delete door and windows this s*** happens... sometimes..

So trying to make subtle changes to buildings got aroud.. 20 so far after I finish a few more ill probably just start copy pasting them and changing sides walls are on i guess


I was like well i need to test defence so i made a 3 story scene...

Looks way better in my head, purple lights in the red district corner of a random place in the city... but I thought about making this tarp you could also jump through from another tile but in some weird scenerio it might generate wierd but we knew that already...

sooo ill have to put together the generator hopefully tonight but still need to retexture everything zz

alright now were using our brain

besides the usual I was like Well if i place a skyscraper here i can block out 2/5ths of your screen and made the other one taller another 1/5 when facing the direction OPPOSITE of the horde that is incoming...

Soo.. Now we go in the opposite corner of the map and block out another 2/5th of the map from another direction

there we go lol

Lots was done ... but i was a novice

sadly borf the owner of browedit the mapping tool we use for ragnarok customs doesnt really work too much on bromedit anymore and it was the only way of getting animated STATIC models working in ragnarok

last time i tried it didnt work at all but it did work at one point... he straight up said it didnt work but i got it to work and they were all mind destroyed

Im aware you could use gr2 models but im quite busy

So the past 2 weeks ive been rewriting a locomotive system and making it a bit more lightweight

You may ask why not just use it

well most of us have probably played on a emulator server hosted by a friend or themselves and pretty familiar with bugs

So i wanted to make sure there was none

Its pretty awesome and kinda depressing that the combat WILL be better then state of decay... The only thing is.. Optimization of textures and models... i am a noob at these technically and not sure what im doing because i cant test them properly but once we get all this stuff animated itll be a lot nicer

Another thing is the locomotive system isnt replicated... now ive never hosted any multiplayer but server replication means if I want that door to be open on my screen and only on my screen it is NOT replicated and the opposite would be

meaning the complicated animations graphs would need to be fully replicated and trust me i know there is over 150 variables and functions that are constantly on tick :|

Im not paid enough to bother testing that so this will do for now

So i managed to fix my GIFs like i said above

by the end of the night i hope i finish my animations but few problems will deal with eventually since sorta unique problems to the weapon types


Arm sway... I mean I kinda walk with my opposite arm swinging forward a bit but every single animation makes it look robotic


Ive been trying to make these footsteps look really good and think i got the "Process/Workflow" down for animating except........
Still havnt really gotten into root motion ... Ive DONE IT but dont know how it works because whenever i play with the dopesheet it just breaks lol

Lol i know i dont post as much as before but now that everything is sorta done its just me working on my artistics s***

i wanted to work on my twitch channel so i made a thingy

although not sure how heavy those real static tvs are but im assuming that they weight, nothing but those twitch screens update in real time soooooooooooooooo fancy.

Got over 200 models in and ready for photoshop, and working on my skeletons... over 20 outfits but still looking over a few problems unfortunately

hopefully start killing something by the end of month but i know for sure we'll be doing photoshop stuff

I got off my *** and wanted to figure out the IK foot steps since I need to finalize my Skeleton... soon, seems like theres no mistakes except........... that when constructing it, i set weird rolls to all the joints unknowingly... anyways it doesnt seem to be an issue within UNREAL ENGINE... but inside blender you CANNOT use it... weird but not the first time

so pretty much i got the body parts going and my workflow has been optimized for speed / quality... well for my age
along with many staple/base clothing items were gonna go over later


I achieved procedural movement


then he chilledout eventually


then we moved onto some more advanced testing and its going good...


hmm lots to it but ... still a few things about unreal and programming i dont know totally so ... were still learning crap but its mostly all finished
