Title: Posting in vain most likely but I may as well try.
Post by: xdchaosxd on Jun 20, 2009, 09:18 PM
Both the two servers I play now or well used to play (fhro and llro) refuse to work all of a sudden and I haven't touched either one for months but now I want to play some llro again and it doesn't work.

I'm using the servers full client which has all the data rolled up into one custom client which is what I've always used to play that server, I posted a similar topic on their forums but to no avail so I'm trying my luck here.

Basically what happens is, during the patching process I don't get all of the files in fact it seems the patcher skips over most of the patches yet it still says that the patching process has been completed even though it clearly has not. I even confirmed with a friend of mine that my lldata.grf file is indeed smaller than hers and I do not have all the files yet my patcher says I do.

Secondly, normally if you aren't up to date with a server you can still view the login screen, get to character selection, and then select a character before you get any Gravity Errors but I can't even get to the login screen. As soon as I hit Start Game the window pops up and I get a Gravity Error, doesn't even finish loading the client.

My Error looks like this, if any of you know how to read it that would most likely help.

I've tried turning my firewall off, doesn't do anything still happens the same. Reinstalled multiple times obviously.

I'm running Windows XP SP2 and I am running as an Administrator. I even went into Windows Firewall settings and added the game to the okay list or whatever it was called but it still doesn't work even though it shouldn't be having connection issues.

This same thing happens on any server I try to play.

That server works, you have a gravity error which is an error you get for not being patched all the way.

Get the most up to date sakray or kRO, whichever one you use.

Did you read my post? I said I was using the servers full client like I always do and it is fully patched it doesn't work and it still gives Gravity Errors, so does any server I try to play.

You have to update your sakray, not the server clients.

The sakray is the ro game, and everything in it, the server client is just which server you connect to, and some custom things.

Did you read or even understand my post?

Thanks SilverStream for explaining it better.

Neither of you understand my post not the other way around. I said I was using the servers full custom client which means it has sakray built into it. There's only one thing to update, llro. Lillium if you've played llro like you've said you have you should know they have a full client.

Neither of you understand that patching is one of my problems either as I said before it doesn't patch correctly, no RO server does, it skips over files and just ends up crashing completely when the client loads.

You both need reading glasses or something, I thought posting this in a forum full of RO script junkies and server gms would help but maybe not.

=P If the actual server forums can't help, I doubt we can.

The same thing happens on any server, you say?
Including those with separate Sakray downloads?

Post by: xdchaosxd on Jun 21, 2009, 06:51 PM
Yes the exact same thing happens on servers that require kro and sakray installed.

I think it might have something to do with program access controls and connectivity issue's but Ragnarok should have total and free access completely which is why I'm confused.

I never said I played llro o.O

Maybe his server won't help him cause of his attitude.

When you said that the server works I figured that you had prior knowledge of the server.

Also it's not like you're being any help, I put plenty of info in my original post so posts like your first one didn't have to be made because that particular question is already answered.

I'll assume neither you or silver had any idea what I meant by full client.

I downloaded it and tried it, works for me.

Redownload it and patch, then try to play.

Patching doesn't work, read my posts.

The first thing I did was uninstall it, redownload it, and reinstall it. Patching doesn't work okay that is one of the things I'm trying to fix.

Is there a data folder in your RO folder? If so rename or remove it. How much ram on your computer and how much free space on it?

Run Setup.exe and screeshot it to post it here.

There is no data folder in my RO folder. I have 1.5 GB of RAM and 11.7 GB of free space on my hard drive currently.

And was this what you wanted?

First of all, everybody knows by now that gravity handler errors mean nothing to us.. Yes, they are hex values - No, they do not mean anything.

RO + DEP = Fail.

Make sure your DEP is turned off for RO (Not that it should even be turned on)

What do you mean by DEP.

I assume the DEP Pow is refering to is Data Execution Prevention.

Here:

I like how down the bottom, it says "to take advantage of". =P

Aside from my firewall, there isn't any DEP on my comp unless you count windows firewall which I've always had running on my comp since day one.

Both of my servers are in seperate folders, fhro is in the Gravity folder and llro has it's own seperate folder.

The sdata file is present in my Gravity folder and it's data.ini file looks the way you say it should.

As for llro seeing as it uses it's own client it has sdata built into it's own .grf file and because of that, has a data.ini file that looks different from your example.

I'd be able to know if the servers you're playing use something other than data.ini ; Which servers are you playing (and the links to their downloads, please)? Thank you.

I suggest playing around the setup options, changing the resolution and disabling sound, see if that helps.

I tried your server Serenity but that doesn't work for me either. Same problems as the two I play.

Playing around with Setup didn't work either I'm afraid.
