[GM] Resume

Real name: Kim

What do I believe are the primary responsibilities of being a GM?

I believe that the first primary responsibility of A GM is to keep the serenity within the server. Whether this includes during events, public chat or the forums, a GM should classify how to control an unsettled situation and won't walk away while two baby novices are in a discussion containing foul language about whose cute pixel chick is whos'. A GM is always neutral; an important feature is that they never just see one aspect of a dispute until they hear both sides; that's the only time they can conclude what is best for the circumstances. Moreover, I believe the primary responsibility of a GM is to hold good knowledge about the server i.e. - game mechanics, character classes, skills, upcoming updates, items and NPCs, to do this it's easier to have awareness of technical issues, how to run events smoothly, eathena, marketing and reasonable disciplinary acts. A significant characteristic of a GM, for me, is to be willing to learn, yet admitting mistakes and knowing what to do to surpass in the future. Everyone is familiar with the standard "motto" of "none biased, be active, be helpful, and be decisive on good choices." It's more of a difficulty on how to do it. GMs join a server to enjoy their time there too as they (or most of them) aren't paid workers. It's fine, be online and active then what? Bot/Macro check and the usual job aside, GMs ought to essentially socialize with the community, just talk and bond. Some disagree that GMs making friends is a negative thing as now they have conflicts of interest and will result in being biased, but it makes the GMs human instead of some behind the scene robots.

What do I believe I can contribute to the staff that most other applicants cannot or will not?

Truthfully, I don't think I'd stand out above the majority of participants. Although I do know I am really willing to help. I'm not in this to be like "Yay I'm a GM" *strut strut.* I'm in it for more than that. I want to be able to contribute to this server to a great extent. I have good knowledge as a normal player about people's opinions on what there's a lack of and too much of. Aside from that, quite honestly, the qualities I believe I hold to be a good GM, is kindness, professionalism, knowledge and patience. It definitely is a plus when definite in-game GMs have awareness of what they're doing universally, but let's be sincere, 5/10 GMs out there aren't going to have a clue about actual scripting when they're hired, and if they do, it's slight to nothing. All in all, I believe the qualities of a GM would consist of, but not limit to:
Professionalism – I know the appropriate times to be professional about a certain situation and not joke around.
Knowledge – If I didn't know much about the field I've been hired to specialize in, I really... shouldn't be on a staff.
Creativeness - Being able to brainstorm for more ideas that will keep the community occupied, I can range from simple things such as unsystematic chatting or creating new events.

Therefore, I would value these traits as something I would offer when being a GM.

What do you hope to gain from being a GM?
By being a GM, I hope to encounter more awareness about the community. I hope I acquire experience of what it's like to work behind the scenes of it all, since being part of the choices that I contribute towards the changes that are going to be made, make me feel like I'm helping the server become an enhanced place. Last but not least, I hope to gain advanced leadership skills which will contribute towards a better GM experience. I hope that you consider my application and thank you for this opportunity!

Please don't hesitate to ask any questions or send me a message.
