ICHANSANITY is formerly IchanGFX before. I've been providing graphic designs for 4 years now and handled wide range of web and graphic designs. I'm currenty working on oDesk,Elance,Digitalpoint,Fiverr. I miss working on Ragnarok Stuffs that's why I'm back here in RMS. Not your typical designer before. More professional in terms of service and design  /ok

I hope what you say is true because I had some not so good experiences working with people in your country. They were notorious in over pricing for work that can be done at an affordable price. I had to haggle an over price quote down to a reasonable price for like a month.

Anyways, im interested in getting an Avatar and a Signature/Banner.

Feel sad about your experience, Honestly , Most of my works are given for free, that's because the most important to me is to improve my skill than earning money. The only reason i'm offering my works for payments for now it's because to make my works beyond standard.

for the web design the price range will be around 15-30$. at the maintime i dont know how to do flux integration. I can only make static websites. but the good thing is you can buy design at me and hired another to integrate it in flux.

Do not hire this person, he is very unprofessional. I asked for a simple quote on a portfolio site, gave him some detail of what i want it for. He quoted me $30-$70. I asked for a definite number as his max estimate is 2x his base estimate (30 + 30 = 60). He then gave me a definite amount and i said give me to tomorrow and let me think on it. He proceeded to try to keep on me and until i threatened him with potentially losing a customer, left me to think on it.

Tomorrow (within the past 20 minutes of this post) comes with a nudge from him on Y!/MSN as is his custom it seems. We get to talking about the site more. I asked about seeing any of his non-ro work as I only have overly bright colors and streaks of light for a design base to picture. He didnt have any so i tell him that i will have to pass on his services. Doesnt take no for an answer and shows me his site as an example which has overly bright colors. *nudges me again*, gets to the point of begging me to give him a try and how he needs international experience for his portfolio. I tell him again, that i must pass on his services. *nudges me again* and i tell him that if he does, going to write on his rms post (as you can see here). He lowers his price to $20 no down payment, give me a try and how getting me desperately is unprofessionally looking.

*nudges me again*, so i told him to go away with him still asking if its still a no? and omfg...another *nudge* as im typing this with more of the same, begging to do this project. He will make a pre-made for me and i tell him that hes too late, replying to his topic and to leave me alone before he incurs any further wrath from me. Asks me to not make this post and then appears offline and/or blocks me (which to me is YAY!), but there you have it folks...

DO NOT HIRE THIS PERSON. he may be cheap, but he is just too immature and unprofessional to do your site any good, RO or non-RO related

sorry sir for keeping on asking you, I didn't knew that you will get pissed on keeping you. As what you have mentioned i'm keep on lowering my price just to get a folio from you. Your still not working with me and you said i'm unprofessional. I also told you for the last time that I will make a pre-made for you and just give me the payment after i made it. and it's only 20$. it's very cheap for a web project.

P.S is it my first time having a problem from just a person asking for a quote. You almost say the whole story even you still not trying me. Most of my clients are very satisfied and you that haven't work for me has too much to say. It's just to bad to me that I encountered someone who's very easy to get angry. I'm very sorry for that. I'm not a natural speaker so I can't say some words :(

But it is Erebus's choice if he wants to hire you or not.  If  he does not wish to hire you it is very UNPROFESSIONAL to continue to annoy a customer begging them to buy something from you.  It's very bothersome.  You'll learn this along the way I'm sure.  Just let the customers have their time and let THEM contact YOU.  I don't blame him for being bothered by the nudges you send.  I dislike it when customers do that to me for my mapping service.  Especially if I decline their offers.

Either way, don't bug customers.  Let them decide for themselves.  If they continue to decline your lowered prices just let them be.  They obviously do not like your works or have just changed their mind in general.

Can you work on website too ? coding and photoshop?

Yah. It's really my mistake that I keep on asking him.  :( But to tell you. I've been doing this services for more than a year now, and when i started this. All of my services are 100% free.  :) It just a couple of weeks that I started this Paid Services and by that time. I got 4 clients that is very satisfied with my work.  ;D And guest what? They're the one who offers the prices for my work. I really don't care with the payments even it's very low or just a fair price. All I wanted is to help and to gain more experience by doing their graphic needs because this is my personal hobby  :(.  I'm almost to the point to our conversation that I will give the work for free but unfortunately he's already writing something about me without giving a try at my works.

Most of my previous clients knew who I am and what is me when working with them and I'm very confident that they we're satisfied with me. I don't take Erebus statement here bad for me. In fact it makes me realize the word "Professional"  ;D

You are making money off of someone else's work, and that is illegal under copyright laws.

And yes, that picture on the left is copyrighted.

Technically, almost all of the artwork you're using is copyright, and if you don't have permission to be using them for paid services, then everything you've done, has been done illegally.

However, to use one person's work and give the result away for free is OK by me. To sell it and claim it as your own work / creation, I don't agree with. Anything you sell should be 100% by you and I would sue someone if they started making money off my back :x like by selling my quests or something without my knowing.

In this case, he's selling someone else's work, profitting off of their backs - plus, the servers receiving the art could also be involved in a lawsuit (if gone through), and may have to get that material removed. Why should a "customer" be subject to that, when they think they're buying custom-made things (and really, it's just a rip off from what someone else has involuntarily provided)?

I understand everyone's right to want to keep their stuff theirs, but we are all playing a pirated game, that we stole. We really have no room to talk about anyone's property being their own...

The people's art work that comes from iRO players, who aren't doing anything semi-illegal or w/e you'd call game emulation / playing on pServers, should be immune to theft. Stealing from other thieves is bad, yush, but not as bad as stealing from people who really have no involvement whatsoever in the pServer world (giving them the benefit of the doubt there)

As jTynne pointed out, nobody is doing the "law" any justice. If you've ever heard the saying... you have the balls of a burglar to be saying - throwing rocks like that when you live in a glass house. Everyone is quick to jump on the law train when they feel it'll deem them credibility.

I need not repeat what I say, please read well.

All I want is the credit of most of the work, or link of the original work or my signature.

Nobody likes to sell their art without credit, that's theft and it is selling as if everything is done for him.

My art is exposed to all this and I have no control, but selling?  in that I do not agree.

I'm an artist and I'd be pretty pissed too if someone was taking my art and making money off it with mediocre photoshop skills.

You can easily prevent this by making a simple watermark for your work or by not uploading to sites like DA. Doesn't DA have a security option for your artwork when you upload it? I stopped using that site for my work years ago so i can't recall. :(

This kind of theft is actually rather common as someone else has pointed out already, and i can tell you right now this guy isn't the only one that's doing this here on RMS. YC should really rework the rules about these kind of paid services or rather it needs to be monitored a bit more.

I know how you feel, when I see people selling other peoples fan art work, or artwork in general, especially on websites and whatnot, I REPORT it to the person who did the drawing / work. 

I am not all gung - ho about people using other peoples fan art.  But if you're going to single out ONE PERSON start saying something to EVERYONE.  Not just ONE person, that's my issue.

I feel bad for people who don't water mark their stuff, they're just BEGGING for it to be used on pserver related things.  While I understand watermarks sometimes ruins the image, how it looks and all that jazz.  It still helps prevent it from -possibly- being stolen.

Point is, dont single out one person when there are TONS even on RMS doing the same thing.  And watermark your art.  Sorry yours got used, it really does suck and i'm glad someone pointed it out for you.

I understand how you feel as well, though as Chemical Crush said, if you don't add a watermark, you can probably assume that your work may be used without you knowing about it. That's how internet is, and there are far too many people who do this (hence this problem cannot be kept under control).
So, drawers/designers, unfortunately, should know that if they do not watermark, there will be the possibility of art theft. And after that happens, not much can be done (maybe somewhat things can change, but you cannot expect it to go well for you all the time when you catch someone).

With all the prices given by designers here on RMS, we can all probably guess that the work people use will probably not be created from themselves completely (maybe give or take 1-2 designers here that I know of). There will be mixtures of works.

It's great that someone told you about the theft, and hopefully, this designer will add links to your work (since it is too late to take back the sold art)! Other artists can be wary of this issue as well. However, I think we should stop posting here about this issue since it is still ichangfx's thread. Suggestions can be made/discussed in other threads located in other sections XD.

Honestly, Most of my stock images used on most of my graphics are only from the internet. and I know that most graphic designers here on RMS or on Eathena are the same with me. I honestly just got the GM image somewhere and it's not on your deviant art page. I also have an account on deviant and it's very simple for me to ask for a permission if I really get the image from you Shu-chan.

I have really no intention on stealing any graphic images that's not mine.

I also e-mailed you right away when my client told me about this. and you already knew that I'm apologizing there and taking your consideration.


LET'S JUST MAKE THIS A LESSON FOR ME, AND OTHER GRAPHIC DESIGNER THERE THAT YOU,US MUST ASK FOR PERMISSION WHEN USING OTHER ARTWORK FOR YOUR ARTWORK. ESPECIALLY IF YOUR USING IT FOR YOUR PAID GRAPHICS.

I've read on your your thread about having trouble with someone just for a quote, I've also had problems in the past regarding this matter, I've had a hard time promoting myself as a freelance graphics artist too, so what I did was, *I was on a freelance site before, so I searched what the market demanded* then I made mock up designs * cause I've no clients also,*, made designs that where appealing to the market, started from there, then when I was hired, gave professional work, not only on graphics, but most importantly on communication. then rest was history, I'm not saying that you were wrong on asking someone to hire you just for a portfolio, cause it might make them think you are desperate and unprofessional, just enjoy what you do, and rest will come,

and now I get to choose which job offer interests me and which jobs I'd like to take on, cause I already have my own reputation when it comes to services and professionalism, *haha if I see an offer as boring, i'd ignore it~

trust me , the best part is when you get to choose the job,clients  you like , and not the job you just wanna turn into your portfolio~

yah youre right, but using images that are copyrighted is unprofessional, but the images that were made by ragnarok is ok, but a hand drawn, digital or traditional fanart of a person used as an asset for a commercial artwork, is bad, I hope you learned your lesson,

plus this also happens when other artist do not boldy display that their artwork cant be used, remade, sold in other forms.~
when I made graphics work for clients, I always see to it, that the images were either Royalty free, the clients own images or a licensed for commercial use image, *just some tips*

Don't assume that his 'community' is okay with Stolen art.  That's just making assumptions.  When you said 'nope doesn't work in the art community' it seemed like you were saying its okay for every other community except the art community, as if the art community holds some higher tier of godliness, haha.

I get what you mean though.  We all make mistakes and stuff, i've seen tons of gfx artists use work from artists who specifically say not to.  ( I mean paid works, usin other peoples artz. )
