As far as I know, for gunslingers to effective in WoE, its necessary to switch between different types of weapons. The normal Hydras + skeleton workers should be used for weapons.
As far as I know, switching to pistols and standing next to a guildmaster waiting to recall works like a charm. Once he ecalls, spam desperado like theres no tomorrow. :]
