Sunrise wasn't as well-populated as Eclipse, when I played there were ususally around 80~90 connected.  Maybe over 100 on weekends, but there was plenty of mingling.  Main chat was active at all hours, and the server even kind of had its own memes (most of which were related to Hodes).  But I guess it was more casual players and socializers on sunrise.  I can't really recall any heated rivalries aside from everyone versus the BR's and I only remember that because us server moms up in Gonryun were a little overzealous about the "English only in Main" rule, hehe.  I had friends from Brazil myself though.  People were just plain approachable there and I can remember hours-old newbies hopping right into the fun on Main.

<GM>Ananzi from Sunrise, here. I've cycled through a few computers since those days, so I don't have any screenshots to verify my identity, but I fondly remember those days. Love me or hate me, you guys were some of the best players a GM could have. ;]

On a side note, I'm really interested in re-connecting with the old admin from nlRO Sunrise. We were pretty good friends until he 'disappeared' one day. :S
