Spreaking about ethics, I don't pot in pvp. And when enemy does, I just pop EDP and blow them off anyway.

fluidin

At least one official server (mRO) pots in pvp, that I can tell you.

I also kinda rmb a iRO or euRO (if I'm not wrong) pvp video of 2 sinxs a year back. A TGK edp-ed SB sinx vs a high DEF edp-ed SB/VD spamming one. They potted berries ffs.

....

All i can say is I will pot if i need to, unless it's a previously stated no-potting match. And what happens when you meet a good sinx who cranswitches and pots, sarin?

And then there are the "sapu-ers". people who like to go inside pvp (solo/partied) to CLEAR everyone out. You can't achieve that if you don't pot :x

XileRo is the only HR I know that has a reasonable PvP system. I did watch the RWC like you said, all I see is people spamming the room like every other gang fight there is in RO.

horo

potting replaces skill just as donating for overpowered items does :P

:P true in a certain sense, but it does take some skill to pot too. I am already consistently pressing ~10 of my bm hotkeys every other moment, and still have to pot 3 other resources on top of it (RJ, whites, berries; you have to pot RJ when statused, whites constantly, and berry when your hp drops too fast). Not easy. I always liked to think that my stint at o2jam helped xD (Granted that's in woe).

You do get to use a lot more skills and strategies instead of just burst damage ones in a no-potter tho. But when someone good pots in pvp and you don't, thats gonna be one huge disadvantage. you can always have 'skilled' matches when in a potting match with someone good too :/ just that reflexes and fast fingers are a large part of that 'skilled'

Kinda depends on whether you feel fastest fingers or strategies are a larger part of 'skill', i guess :x

Oh, if I meet some yggspammer or something I can't oneshot with SB? Well then I'm gonna make them run dry. Hit'n run grimtooth, especially now cause on my server is episode 13.1 stuff, so I have 181 aspd grimtooth, is enough to show em.
And btw, I can deal with cranial switcher. It's about timing.

Umm...this thread is getting derailed/off-topic...

Yeah.

Lol sarin, you didn't get my point. I don't care about ur leet pvp skillz and how you are going to counter what I stated (which aim wasn't to start a mechanics debate), what I mean is if you meet someone who will consistently win you if you don't pot, what are you going to do? Continue not to pot and get owned?

Because there ARE people around that are that good. I admit I'm not a worldwide top tier pvper, and I doubt you are.

I would never pot. Instead, I'd try to find a way...good thing about well built SinX is very wide tactical possiblities.

horo

yea because Sinx is such a versatile class  ;D

Sarin

That's why I play it. I'm no OMG I GOTZ EDP LINK SB noob. Killing under any circumstances, that's my motto.

horo

I was being sarcastic, outside of the equip switching most classes need to do, Sinx is one of the most simple and straight forward classes to play, and please don't even try to argue against this, because then you'd be screaming against the collective opinion of official server players everywhere  :-\

Relics

Hide and grim

walk and sonic

backslide abit, cloak some more, throw some knives.. throw in soulbreaker for laughs and kicks.

They make a good partner though, for the damage and straightforwardness lol.

Sarin

You know, I don't give a flying f**k about official servers. It's a lot different on private servers, be it because of lower population or rates that make some equip more widely available, or customizations or whatever...
Average SinX is straightforward. But good, well played SinX has at least 4 means of damaging enemy, and 4 more tactical skills. I'd say it's at least twice than average character.
Let's take a look at it, during WoE I utilize: old good SB, grimtooth as damager and/or status inducer, dagger+shield for both means as previous and empbreaking, melee attack with katar as empbreaking or softening up before SB, venom dust, meteor assault, sometimes even throw stone. Not even mentioning cloak and hide...
Compare with other classes and talk about straightforwardness.

fluidin

I agree they're pretty much straightforward in a sense, but you do get the most out of fast fingers with them (And champ, of course).

I did always consider reflexes and fast fingers part of skill :/

Also, something that needs skill will be the Poison Toad + Envenom + Backslide trick. And anything other than a Champion or Prof isn't that much harder to play well anw.

I think it's more about the server than a class. I've seen servers where playing champ was only speedpot-Asura-ygg-zenfuryzen and repeat. Just like on offic servers SinX is all about SB. On the other hand, servers with low, but skilled population often require skill and versatility to win.
