Where do I begin with this one. I honestly have nothing against the server our its admin, GMs and players but I do have a little qualm about the fact that they stole our entire .grf full of customs that had been made SPECIFICALLY by on of our GMs for -our- server. (KitsuneRO, at the time, we've since shut it down and re-opened a server with all of our customs, many of which were made by one of our GMs still). Yes there were customs in there you could find all over the place, fine whatever, we don't care about that. We solely care that one of our GMs worked hard on custom recolours and other sprites just for them to be stolen and not even credited! AND I believe they're for donation (don't quote me on that but I asked a player about one of the customs she was wearing and she said she bought it, didn't specify if zeny or real money)

On top of that, as we were shutting down Kitsune to open our new server, our players assured us they were going to stay until the end and play on our new server when it opened; mysteriously about two days later they all left, which I later found out was because someone (I don't know who) from MusiqueRO had come along and told everyone about their SHR server run by someone who left Kitsune.

Anyway, I really just want to warn everyone else that if you like servers who steal other people's customs (let alone their entire .grf) as well as all of their players then this is a server for you.

And like I said, I don't truly have anything against any of them there, I just would like to know WHY it was done and either credit all the artists -properly- or take them out, because quite frankly our GM who sprited those customs is livid and wants them removed.

Why for my sake? I honestly don't care if people want to go around saying that it's untrue and I don't really know how else to prove it other then to tell people to talk to the person who recoloured them all and had them stolen; since he has the original files.

I'm not the owner of my servers so I can't just show off a .grf and point there's out too. But I do have the physical evidence of them crediting his sprites ONLY because I had to bug them to, but he's still angry and wants them removed. *sigh* It's just a whole lot of headache and I simply wanted to point it out to people that stuff like this should stop.

If someone's work isn't posted on a sharing site, then you shouldn't take it, because if anyone HAD asked for permission, he would have said no since they were not meant for any other servers.

Anyway, if you want to delete this because I can't dish out every bit of factual, hard evidence you might want then fine. I'm not looking to start trouble or some epic war, I simply wanted to state that it's not fair for someone who takes others work and then says "Custom of MusiqueRO" on their item descriptions.

Oh well... I tried to get it out there. n_n;

Because I might not physically be able to provide it even though this is the truth. Besides, our GM already PMed the admin. to tell him to remove all of his sprites so hopefully he complies.

Usually, Descent gives a one week time for proof to be obtained, so you pretty much have seven days to gather proof

Just download the custom grf from MusiqueRO and compare that with KitsuneRO or the other new server. Look specifically at data/sprite and identify any similarities or whatever else which KitsuneRO specifically customize. Do also try to provide proof that those sprites belongs to KitsuneRO or that GM who made them. Do a few snap shots and Viola! post your investigative findings.

p/s: you might need to download SPR Conview to open/preview .spr files.

In the least describe the customs taken if you do not want to post images of them. In all honesty I think you're telling the truth but at this point you're not giving us any details.

Not to say that disbelief is flowing all over the place, but seriously, this is the kind of thing that gets pegged as attacking another server.

Also, players can and will play where they feel they will be happy, it is NOBODY'S call to claim some stake of ownership on them.

It'll probably be this... however, to just use another server's files as your own server's is probably an indication of incompetency or lack of dedication for the admins to work hard to do what's best for the server though. It's still one of the signals that should decide if a server is worth staying.

We'll just have to wait and see if there's any proofs about it.

Nice try getting Musique in trouble for "Custom" Stealing. EVERYBODY CAN TAKE CUSTOMS. My point is, stop JUST blaming Musique and why not the other servers with the customs as well.
