A viable farming class?

Soooo, I'm starting to play RO (not a new server, just RO in general) and on low rate 99/70 servers. Beforehand, I'd like to get a class more suited towards farming/gathering items to fund my future High Priest and then Whitesmith and also when it comes to collecting quest items in bulk (like 1,000 Rune of Shadows :s). I was thinking an Archer/Sniper or some sort. The ability to switch arrows for the monster's elemental properties, and also the ability to take minimal damage by locking a monster to one place till it's dead. Just imo though xD
What's your take on this?

I'd agree with going with hunter. Gunslingers can be really useful, but can be a pain to make them depending how your server is set up. Not to mention that you get a lot more variety with going Novice --> Archer --> Hunter --> Sniper --> Ranger (if third classes are set up) versus Novice --> Gunslinger.

I'd also ask about how you enjoy playing games since this is your first time playing RO. Are you usually a ranged character? Magic? Melee?

Uhm, when it comes to MMO's and such, it's usually the healer/support class. Practically every single MMO I've touched, I've played something relative to the priest, like World of Warcraft. Though the recent expansion kinda messed things up so me and a group of friends hopped over to RO. So I plan to play an Acolyte/High Priest/ Archbishop.

I've played on IntenseRO and got to 150/70 with an AB and I find it pretty interesting, though through farming certain areas, spamming Judex just won't cut it as compared to a very high ASPD Sniper can take out a mob by merely a ctrl+click without the mob touching them and as for arrows, they're kinda cheap compared to Blue Gems don'tcha think? As goes with potions too. They cost a good bit and sometimes Safety Wall isn't that handy when it comes to multiple mobs or higher levelled ones.

Which comes to the point of easy and/or fast mob farming; I'm gonna need something that can kill multiple monsters in quick succession and versatility, and Snipers look like a good candidate in my opinion with the variety of arrows.

Point of this thread: What's your opinion of a class used for farming and hoarding a large number of items for a good amount of moola? =D

If you're looking for getting money, it's more of a what you're hunting then what you're hunting with.

Well, for the initial bit, I kinda want a valk helm for the future priest, which means killing around 1k+ Vanberks and 1k+ Frus and Skoguls with the latter having a bigger HP pool to diminish. And also mobs around splendide_flds' for say, sprint items.

I've been reading up here and there during my free time ever since I've started.

So basically, the more low-ranking mobs, then the priest to 99/70 for the main bit of gameplay, and then the Whitesmith as a secondary character which I plan to actively play along the priest, with an added bonus that the Whitesmith can apparently MvP amazingly well so if I ever want certain MvP cards or items, I have a higher chance of getting it on my own or with a friend who's planning on a priest as well. Which eliminates groups who weren't really taught how to share =D

Is that a good plan? xD

Frus and Skoguls aren't the easiest thing to kill. No mater what you're playing you are most likely going to be killing them within a party. As for making a whitesmith, they're a pain to level depending on what type of rates you're going on. The biggest damage dealing skill you have costs money.

Assassin. Why? Steal = double drop chance, Flee = little to no potting, robust, walk speed bonus = faster farming, katars which cover most elements = wide hunting abilities, Sonic Blow = potential one-shot after Steal, Grimtooth = lol too easy.

Other than that, Taekwon Kid = very equipment independent, easiest class to switch to from Novice, Flying Kick, Mild Wind.

Rogue is also a viable option for farming.
Its extremely good and doesn't require a lot of maintenance either similar to the assassin.  He does have auto steal via gank anyway.

Ele Katars can sometimes cost a lot more than Elemental Damascuses.  I also like wearing a shield with rogue.
If you are farming many low level things and need supply quickly, a rogue is an extremely viable choice for farming.  Intimidate is great for moving around when you are too poor for fly wings or have a teleport clip.  It will remain useful even after you have both these things.
