Nope nope nope.

It looks like someone use the map editor from world of warcraft to build the environment and slap a bunch of Ragnarok sprites into cell shading engine.

The soundtrack will make or break it for me. >O

So far none of those "true successors" were even remotely close to Ragnarok Online, so I have my doubts.

basically a clone, not a successor. Is this even licensed by gravity? Probably better if not, since they already killed their own game..

It's going in the right direction by staying true to the original. If it didn't have such washed out graphics, it could even have a chance to revive the game on the PC. But that would also need a competent developer with a true love and understanding for the game. Another pay2win MMO among hundreds with standard looks and mechanics just isn't going to cut it.

But it sure looks better than ToS, lol.

I think I read it somewhere that it is a mobile game.

FFS ro still has potential to make money. The graphics are amazing and can be worked into modern day gaming.
But people inside the community want the same thing and quick money.
And anyone outside it doesn't know what's what.

Im a Ro player since the very Beta and I can confirm that this one is the true sucessor to Ragnarok online. But of course its to the player to decide what eh favours. This should be RO2. This is how most fans always wanted the sequel to be. Most of them didint wanted a sequel anyway but rather a updated RO with a bit better graphics and a better code /netcode. As we know since the lead desinger left, the original developers left in the middle of the work where some codes never finished and gravity started to build on that instead of rewriting some of the code like lag etc. RO has a very bad netcode like most multiplayer games.

I just hope that this games
Ragnarok Online Player since the very Beta. I'm still in love with the game.

Every post seems to contain screenshots and more in-game explanations. Now if only I understood chinese ...

It also seems that the game is being made with Unity. They have also released another RO spin off game here : http://boli.xd.com

Kircheis, I believe the smartphone ragnarok you found is also covered in this topic, so I merged your post into this one.

It seems to be a huge step back in terms of gameplay but we will see how it ends. The SmartphonexPC thing seems promising but something tells me this will be a casual version of RO

Oh yeah, I saw this on reddit a few months ago and actually looked into it and it's quite interesting.

The guy who owns the company developing this game is a long time RO  player who spent his childhood playing the game. I believe he spent 9million USD to purchase rights from gravity so that he could make/remake the game in unity, his goal is to bring the "RO magic" to this generation's young people hence the game is developed for mobile because mobile gaming is huge over in the east.

Do you have proof of what you said about the author?
When it is true, this game is to be amazing maybe even better than the original.

Because most fans handle games better than real developers because fans usually stick to the game more and they tend to play the game too. So they care more about the outcome of the game.
Ragnarok Online Player since the very Beta. I'm still in love with the game.
