Just curious the EDP buff/scroll - will it be usable for other classes?

On another note, most of the buffs you have listed above are already available in the game in some form or another - Scrolls, Food or Boxes.

Assumptio Scrolls

Box of Resentment (ATK boost)

Box of Gloom (LVL 1 Concentrate)

Lutie Lady's Pancake (+5 STR)

Token of Siegfried (Not identical to Kaizel, but both Resurrects the fallen)

Yes, it is usable by ALL classes (even novices).

I know that most of those buffs are available from other items, and if they want to use those, they can, lol, it's 100% fine by me, I made these scrolls for the players on my Servers specifically for MVP hunting and fast training (mostly).

The reason why I made the scrolls, instead of a 'Buffer' NPC is because now the players can carry the buff scroll with them, find the boss they want to go hunt (IE Baphomet) and they can actually walk all the way to the Hidden Dungeon, find where bapho is, buff, and then go and attack him. Without the worry of there buffs running out as soon as they find him.

The buff NPC's are very useful, don't get me wrong, but im not going to make it so the buffs last for 30 minutes so that my players can successfully hunt MVP's. :)

I added an attachment, so you can see just how powerful they are, lol, I don't think under any normal circumstances could a level 1 novice be doing almost 2300 damage to an Obeaune. (This is the level 10 Buff Scroll)

Relics

Lol holy ;p.., the EDP thing is really going to be OP.

Sarin

I can imagine...SinX are going to hell with that. EDP BB, AV, CT or Asura? Oh god....

Irrelevant

Not to mention the scroll averts the need for catalysts, which would make the economy lose important assets. That is unless the scrolls are hard to obtain.

Relics

I guess it kinda depends on what kind of server you want to run. Most HR's (above 99/70 and pretty high rates) I know barely have an economy.

Irrelevant

True. Though you have to agree that on most HRs, the economy is ran on PvP usables. Like gears being traded for yggdrasil berries; Poison bottles enter the formula just as well.

QuoteWhatever floats your boat.

The scrolls are deactivated in all PVP/WoE/GvG Areas, as my post demonstrates they obviously overpower the user. I'm hoping to go for a somewhat unique RO experience... making it possible for someone to kill an MvP without the extensive use of an NPC.

I still haven't decided how to hand out the scrolls, but I am currently working on an NPC which will allow players to gain useful items bonuses at certain levels (I was actually planning on asking for some alternate item ideas rather soon). I was thinking of making limited amounts of scrolls available to the user every 10 levels or so and they could either choose to use them or stockpile them for when they reached a higher level.

Very good foresight with the disablement of scrolls in all Plaver versus player situations. However, the situation might get out of hand as EDP mixed with various powerhouse skills could end up in easy-oneshot MvP kills, which would kill the team gameplay that was designed with newer, stronger MvPs. Discouraging teamplay could affect the community's general behavior in a bad fashion, as most of us know how the average HighRate player acts.

Seems like a viable thing to do if you make it so that the scrolls can't be traded, dropped or stored; it would just encourage low-level char botting if they can be transfered by any means. Even so, I believe any skill that requires a catalyst should not be on the scroll, but that's just me. If you can't easily make a big stockpile of scrolls, then it shouldn't affect the economy, nor the general gameplay.

I'm going for a low rate system (hopefully). It will still keep it's challenging moments, it's just designed to help players kill the harder MVP's a bit quicker. I still haven't been able to fully test this out yet, but I setup teams to get an extra 50% exp per monster with a 5 man party.

Which MVP's are you worried about being oneshotted? I was leaving all of the MvP's and Mini's with the default values that come with eAthena. My LK and SinX (Main 2 classes for testing) both still get pwnt hardcore by regular Valk and even Satan Morocc. I tried killing Bapho with my SinX (took me like 11 scrolls of level 10 buffs, and continuous dying), the MVP's I have tested it on, when I use the scroll near them, usually warp somewhere else on the map.

As I said before, still not 100% sure on this, but my NPC idea is coming along quite smoothly. They are locked so you can't trade them (as you stated).
I used to bot on iRO so I have SOME idea of what low rate botters hunt for (or at least I used to lol).

Anyways, as far as getting them, you only get so many at said levels, but heres the general layout that I thought of so far.
Levels 1 - 30 you 'CAN' get 8 of the Level 1 scrolls.
Levels 40 - 70 you 'CAN' get 6 of the Level 5 Buff Scrolls.
Levels 80 - 99 you 'CAN' get 9 of the Level 10 Buff Scrolls.

Aside from this, only other way someone will be able to acquire them is through events... Maybe???
Who knows, might turn out that I remove the higher ones all together and make it so you can only get so many of the lower levels ones... I still haven't fully decided on them yet :) lol...

Asu- *auto backslide* Sonic- *auto backslide* Bowling- *autobackslide*

God damn it, I'll just pick my wizard.

Holy s***, he backslid away from a buff?  Crazy.
I must accept that Super-Gluing valuable coins to the sidewalk and then watching events from a nearby café is not proper demonic activity.

Lol, to be honest I don't know how to use those classes, could you give me some advice? I mean sure I could use @skillall on my GM account but I don't know anything about what skills I should use beyond that...

Platinum Skills are locked on my server for GM's... even if they want them they gotta do the quests so after I get on a whitesmith i'll let you know how it turns out.

Trying to get some help on the eathena boards with the npc functions... my if statements are not working properly!  /omg :gaara

Poem of Bragi Scroll. Nuff Said.

Great for Mage classes and skills with lots of cast time and delay, but useless for certain classes such as Knights or Blacksmiths
For Bowling Bash bragi is very handy.

You could make hiding scrolls...that way classes other than SinXs and Stalkers wouldn't need the wear a smokie.... :P
