I think its called Dark Blessing.  Similar to coma but only reduces hp.

This link is about what most people know when it comes to Coma. =P Basically, Luk helps if you have it in endless supply. As long as YOUR Luk is higher than your opponents, you have some minorly less chance of gaining coma. Also, you can dodge the hit that would cause the coma, so having a hell of a lot of flee wouldn't hurt.

Other than that? Ygg seeds. xD This, to me, is the only time when this is fair and/or needed. Still, coma, for the most part, has always had a very small percentage of working [ Most only have a .1% chance ], so that may be why there isn't any anti-coma gear.

All the same, the Book of the Dead's sudden 10% chance for coma-ing suddenly killed this reasonable balance to me. xD Tch. Then again, I use this to my advantage with Battle High Priests, so... Bleh.

i think we kinda need to distinguish something here~

coma can be caused by skills:
ie tarrot card of fate

coma can also be caused by effects:
ie lord of death card

coma can also be caused by attacking:
ie edge


so i think we kinda need to distinguish the difference.... cause some skills like tarrot card can be blocked (with gtb on SOME servers) and some attacks can be blocked (with like parry or something)

so to find out if coma can indeed be blocked we need to find out which coma were talking about

When u get coma-ed, it's instant death, how do u suicide when you're coma-ed? lol

There are only two kinds of Comas, "player" Coma and "monster" Coma(NPC_DARKBLESSING).

Neither is instant death. "player" Coma reduces your HP to 1 and SP to 0. NPC_DARKBLESSING only reduces HP to 1.

You can just normally heal yourself with skills/items.

All that killing yourself will do is teleport you to your save point, where on respawn you will have 1HP anyway so what kind of tactic is that?

Having high LUK reduces chance for Coma and having high LUK increases chance of inflicting Coma.

Coma used as a skill can miss with Flee. I don't know if SW/Pneuma/etc. will affect it though, but they should.
