I love everything but the...

"- However, if the monster is over 10 levels above the player, the player will be unable to properly damage that monster."

Since it effects KRO it should effect most of the updated P-servers.
Well, whenever they are done testing and IF they actually do it.

This will make the game much funner, even if it is already fun
And the skill balances are needed to me...
I'm tired of everyone being an over-powered Sin X or creator with endless potions and a Vanil

This change will be good for some, but other will be pissy and leave.
But then again it may never happen... :(

For that to happen, eAthena would need to update to the new system. Considering they can't even keep up with the current episode of iRO, that's pretty bloody unlikely.
eAthena is pretty much dead at this point. Third classes, new mechanics, we probably won't ever get any of that.

This seems like Gravity's piss poor attempt to keep up with the other MMO's. Instead of coming up with some creative game features that match it's own game's playing style (the style that its players love and play for) it has opted to change the fundamentals of it's game to copy WoW. ~_~ I for one am disgusted.

Quote from: DoddlerSome interesting facts about the experience chart.

Level 96 -> 97 Trans
pre-renewal: 140m exp
post-renewal: 5.4m exp

Required job exp has increased however by about 20%.

Though the required exp has dropped dramatically, monster exp is down a bit too.

Heater (Lv96):
pre-renewal: 3766 base / 2359 job
post-renewal: 835 base / 1252 job

Assaulter (Lv 98):
pre-renewal: 4954 base / 2654 job
post-renewal: 875 base / 1312 job

Note that the renewal exp is listed after removing the 10x exp rate.

Well I guess its ok, required exp at high levels has dropped to nearly 1/25 of what it was, but mob exp is only down 1/4. Obviously leveling will be a bit slower because you can't just get optimal gears and grindfest one zone anymore, but its safe to saythat getting 99 isn't as hard as it used to be.

- Assumptio Change: Assumptio now doubles Def/Mdef. (Note that def and mdef are handled as subtraction type now). Skills that bypass defense, bypass assumptio.

- Soul Exale: You can only give up to 50% of your targets max SP.

- Acid Bomb: The damage is now reduced by physical and magic defense modifiers.

Level 135 monster:

The level difference with monsters is now as follows:

Player 10 levels above monster: Monster gives no experience
Player 4 levels above monster: Monster gives half experience
Monster 4 levels above player: Player deals 1/2 damage versus monster.
Monster 10 levels above player: Player deals 1 damage with all attacks.

Its worth noting though that between 4-10 levels above the player, the monster gives a hefty 10%-20% increase in experience per level.

Updated as it goes!

I've seen many games ruined when they wanted to make "major changes", namely Diablo II and Star Wars Galaxies.

Let's be honest, they wont get many new players with the new classes, so they should work on keeping their existing player base, not scare them away.

Define major changes in Diablo 2... if you mean patch .09 to .10 >.>?  That was a good thing...

Pandora

I mean diablo II patch 1.10+, which coincidentally they made just before opening WoW, and that patch pretty much forced players to re-do all their characters, at a painfully slower pace than before.

Huh? I'm pretty sure you can get to 80 in 3-4 days if you know what you're doing(Read: You're not actually playing the game properly).

Getting to 99 is impossible though.

Pandora

I played SWG, but I never actually played diablo I or II mind you, but I know friends who talked about it constantly and optimal had max char were pretty mad at that patch and left the game to go play something else. It's rarely a good thing when you send hours of work from players to the trashcan.

Official server player of RO will need a reset, unless by some miracle they had a crap build that is now good with the new stat change. So unless gravity gives one free reset, players will all have to purchase a kafra shop item.. kinda greedy /swt

Gravity is getting trying to attract things to it. But I guess they're at moon lvl for now.

Pandora, I'm pretty sure even Gravity is not dumb enough to change game mechanics and not provide a reset.

Tavern

This happened with Trickster Online when they switched over to Trickster Online Revolution. Changed some game mechanics around. Most of the people who played since the beginning and a lot of the then current population quit.

Hopefully this won't happen to RO.

I recall a very long while ago (6+ years), wizard's cast time was affected by agi and not dex, then they switched it on a whim and I don't recall that they provided a reset. But let's hope you're right and they aren't dumb xD
