Do you like higher rate or lower rate servers?

LR.

Better community. More Parties. Better economy overall.

HRs tend to have a wacked economy, too easy, and pending the level cap, lack parties, too. The community doesn't care because they can solo everything (on most HRs where 99/70 isn't the cap'). It's just a waste of time.

Even MRs are terrible now - at least, primarily English ones. Same troll guilds that follow each other and ruin one server to the next. The only way to escap'em is to join a 5/5/5 or switch to a non-English server.

I am not talking like that, so I don't get what you're tying to prove here. I said that HR servers attract a kind of player that I dislike, nothing about servers themselves.
And I'm trying to say you're generalizing players.

lilmonsta95

yeah i have never played a low rate server, i have no idea why ive only played 150 rates and up.

And you're wrong, so cut it out now. It would be generalising if I said that many or all HR players were like that, which clearly is not what is written in my post.

Also, HR servers tend to attract 'power-play' people who are mainly into PvP and WoE and who love stupidly strong custom items.

Clearly, this is what you did say.

Now if you were to write or instead of the bold and, I wouldn't whine so much.

Clearly, you need to work on your interpretation. There is no reason for me to change the 'and' to 'or' because then I'd say something else and that something is not what I mean.

People who fulfil both of those criteria do exist, probably more than you think, and they are typically attracted by HR servers. I've played HR servers, I've seen these people, and I dislike them very, very much.

PvP, yes. But these players are definitely not attracted to WoE. As you can see from their 50 player WoEs.

Oh wow, you just generalized that HR players don't like WoE.  :O

By the way, a lot of HR servers usually have 50 people attending their WoEs because HR servers usually tend to have lower populations than LR/MR servers.

To be honest, in my experience, the only servers that attract the idiotic/trollish WoE/PvP lovers are either the insanely super high-rate servers, or, the new sprout of WoE-oriented low and mid-rate servers.

Either way, it's not typically always the rates that attract these people, but rather what's offered as far as it goes for customization and what's handed to the players as far as it goes for being more WoE-based or more PvM-based.

Personally, due to the fact that I've played for so long, I'm iffy on low rate servers, and typically won't even give them a second glance unless they have features that are just out of this world. I love mid-rates to lower high-rates, mostly because these are the types of servers I've seen the largest/more friendly communities on. I don't know about anyone else, but a lot of the low-rates now-a-days are either so tight-knit, they're unfriendly or cold towards newcomers, or the community is game-based and not forum-based, and being a forum social butterfly, I have a requirement of there being an active, friendly forum community at all times, and an in-game community to match it. P: Then my requirements for in-game mechanics and customizations come in.

Low Rates.  Why?

You can do so much with Low Rates in terms of quests.  Sure you can have quests in High Rate servers but I tend to dislike them, or it seems like nub GMs run them.  Plus I like working for my levels.  I most of the Low Rate community, I dislike most of the high rate community.  Mid Rates are just blah.

leokimah

I don't particularly have a preferred server rate. Since each type of rate has its own category it shines in.

I play low rates for the community, PvM, quest and partying . While I'll play a mid-high rate server for WoE, PvP and BG. : )

I guess my least favorite type of server would be anything with a lvl cap over 99 and renewal mechanic based servers *A.K.A 3rd jobs*.

lilmonsta95

I am trying to motivate my self to play lower rates, i have never played one before. The lowest rate i've played is a 300x150, with the max lvl being 250/120. I also HATE 3rd JOBS, they ruined RO.

Kyroki

I like higher rates since I hate lv'ing and I prefer to solo things, the first ever server I played was also a mid-high rate so that is what I consider to be 'normal' =]

Washi

In my opinion, low rates take to long and get boring, high rates are way to fast and no excitement, mid-rates to me are the perfect type of server.
