Reason I never played MMORPGs in Lan Houses/Internet Cafes/PC Rooms, and anyway, this is the internet, learn to get massively ganged by someone and his friends or someone and the dude the some pretends to be, or get ganged by 10 people and 5 chars each, but I really hate the internet cafe types, I mean, it's no fun to play if you have 5v1

Isn't it more fun? My friend used to look for 5v1's on his Monk back in officials before trans classes were out. He loved to 'sapu' (read: Clear) the PvP arena by himself.

Anyway, I'll stress it again, I can't stand how pinoys think they're so 'pro'. I can tolerate tagalog spam to some extent, but their boasting...ugh.

Have you by any chance played Malaysian private servers? Because the word 'sapu' isn't common in normal private servers. Or you're Malaysian?

@Topic

It really annoys when they complain if we find a gang of our own to fight their gang. If we have more people on our team compared to theirs, they would start cursing and q-qing.

I think his friend is malaysian

Both me and my friend are Singaporean. Used to play on eRO (English counterpart of mRO) official.

And yes, I've played Malaysian p.servers. Playing one right now, in fact.

XileRo is the only HR I know that has a reasonable PvP system. I did watch the RWC like you said, all I see is people spamming the room like every other gang fight there is in RO.

Descent

GM taking disciplinary action on a pinoy = instant entertainment, as the pinoy lowers himself to personal threats of bodily harm, making fun of the GMs mother, father, sister, dog, cat, goldfish, etc.

Just like many others, I honestly don't care where they live/what they are/etc aslong as they don't annoy me and get on my nerves.

I have met alot of good Filipino players, but there are many more that just make me want to get a gun and shoot myself.

For example, I find it truely annoying and nerve racking when a filipino/pinoy player is on an English Server that is in a different time zone from that person, and they ask for WoE Times to be change specifically to their schedule. I find this to happen alot on many servers.

Why play a server that is in a totally different time zone, thousands of miles away from where you live, and speaks a totally different language from yours? I just don't get it. Even if the server is a good server, with great features and such, you wouldn't be able to enjoy yourself as much if you can't participate in WoE/events and even communicate properly with other players.

Anyways that's just my two cents. Sorry if I kind of got off topic. <.<

i personally don't care. I come from indonesia and i play in an international p.server (met ppl from africa, europe, asia, australia, and both south and north america).
however, they do tend to be stubborn and unwilling to admit that they're wrong. Childish basically.
And perhaps from there spawns all the other problems such as ganging on PvP (not entirely their monopoly as i have seen ppl from the states, canada, europe, etc doing this in PvP), the verbal abuse (again, not their monopoly), threats, etc....
but srsly, at least most ppl from other countries know when to admit that they are wrong whilst most of the time players from vietnam, korea, philipines, and yes indonesia too are just too stubborn and childish to admit they're wrong. So i think the main problem is about maturity...

anyway, as an indonesian i've met some ppl who think that "all" indonesians are botters. That's another case of failed profiling right there. Yes some do bot, and some try to imitate those who bot, and some are just idiots that way. But i have found that some people actually think of dynamic scripts etc for bots and that to some respect it has become sort of a quest for a dynamic solution to a dynamic algorithm that is the game we call RO. Of course i'm not saying that botting is righteous, but it's similar to hacking in this respect, some people bot to see if they can come up with a dynamic AI to see where the holes are and everything.

all in all, no matter who we are what we are whenever wherever, there will always be profiling... do your best to rectify what you can.

Everyone agrees that it is annoying when an Malaysian/Indonesian/Singaporean/Filipino player comes to play in a server, starts speaking his national language and then starts to nag about WoE times, I also agree that it is annoying to be an honest Malaysian/Indonesian/Singaporean/Filipino/Brazilian player says his nationality and then gets flamed due to the immense amount of botters of his/hers same nationality, I do agree with mahawirasd's case of "all x are botters=failed profile", those who think that being annoying to annoyances are a righteous thing to do, are, like some say are a major "kejengkelan"

I have met good Filipino players and made friends with some, and I hate when people insult me or my friends for doing something we didn't do

Sorry if I sound defensive, but...

Singapore's main language is in fact English, which we both orate and write well with.

Also, some trivia; Singapore is the 5th wealthiest country in the world in terms of GDP (PPP) per capita. In December 2008, the foreign exchange reserves of this small island nation stood at around US$174.2billion. In 2009, the Economist Intelligence Unit ranked Singapore the tenth most expensive city in the world in which to live—the third in Asia, after Tokyo and Osaka.

I doubt the players you were annoyed with included Singaporeans, or at least educated ones.

Whoops, I kind of did an accidental logic fluke there, but technically, some players still stereotype all asian-pacific as the uneducated filipinos going around being ****, same goes for some uneducated brazilians stereotyping the whole continent of latin america

Well all-in-all, those ethnic races have a rep for themselves on RO that won't change if they continue as they are. No matter how good as an individual you are. Only way it can be fixed if they want it to be. Which would mean changing their whole attitude and possibly learning some understandable english.

Even so, it would take a very long time for the stereotype of those ethnic races to begin to fade away. Especially if you play on a server with alot of players.

All I have left to say on this is that you learn to deal with it. Make friends with those who actually deserve your friendship, and stay away from the "wrong" crowd.

Sorry if I sounded a bit racist.

Descent

The problem with hoping the stereotype fades away, is as soon as things begin to look up, another jackass shows up to justify said stereotype all over again.

So true. Another thing is, it also depends on the person who is witnessing this. If Person A is being hit with that constant behaviour of those ethnic races, obviously they will hate them and then some. But if Person B is surrounded by different people, but of the same ethnic races, and those people are nice and not at all like the people in Person A's scenario, Person B will most likely dismiss it as one of those people who are just jackasses by nature, and not because of their ethnic race. Whereas Person A will prolly handle it in the opposite way of Person B.

Once again, my two cents.

Well, the stereotype that I've seen with pinoy's lately is that they think they're strong, and they're willing to go great lengths to prove it, even through ways that are under the belt. I, personally, hate those types of pinoy's (the one who'd kiss up to GMs just so they have a favor with them and abuse it). Despite the fact that I am one myself, you can ask the people who really know me in RO and they'll tell you I'm nothing of the sort. But I completely agree with the fact that most of them (because I cannot be with "them" because I do not classify as such) are annoying.

Hutchy

I think it's just the language barrier. A lot of people who speak other languages don't realize that *how* they're saying whatever they say in English is often rude, arrogant, annoying, what have you.

Irrelevant

It's just a cultural barrier, definitively.
