RO does have a good storyline. But it is revealed by quests and since almost noone does them and that minority don't read what's going on in those quests, almost noone knows about it.

RO doesn't have a storyline, what the hell are you people talking about. Few pathetic excuses for dungeons do not make a storyline.

It isn't only about dungeons...find the quests at ragnawiki or other database, do them, and pay attention what's happening there. You'll be surprised...

All main quests have to do with dungeons.

I'm not talking about dungeon access quests...there is alot more quests than those. Most of them will just give you some XP, or something like OBB, OPB...but they're fun to do when you are bored by leveling and hunting...

RO has a pretty strong background in theory, they just haven't communicated it very well $:-\$

Yup. The problem is, there is almost nothing that would motivate players to actually do those quests...

RO's "background" was always three sentences on the main site, which don't have almost anything to do with the game.
RO's "backstory" is advanced through dungeons - because adding new dungeons expands the world. And if you think that "Suddenly, Morroc is destroyed by Satan! Also XP and new items" or "Human Experiments! Also XP and new items" is a backstory, well...
