Do you make the server on your own or hire?

Im always wondering.. Do you guys make the server on your own or hire someone to do it for you? Because, i do notice some people make server then he/she sells it.. Or some almost dead server sold to other person to keep it alive like some server in Malaysia.. I dont know how many owner and that server still alive since 2003..  /no1

ToiletMaster:
On my side it would be my own lol, I do have one of my great friends that helped me out the entire process.   /no1

but in my opinion, there's no point buying / investing in another if you don't know the basics, if something goes wrong in any way, who are you going to look for? I'm pretty sure the person that sold it to you might not respond all the time since the owner is casting it away >_>

this is my personal opinion though.

CaseRO:
On my side, I did everything on my own except the website.
It's better to do it on your own because you'll learn more.

Najara:
Same. Beside the website I've done (with my boyfriend) everything on my own as well.

Exactly what CaseRO says, you'll learn a lot in the process of building it. But not only that, you'll also know the server from the inside and out
because you're the one making every change. If a highly customized server is being sold to some outsider and players start asking questions to him/her, he/she will either leave the player with a incorrect answer, or with a "Err, ask the old/other admin".

I've faced the same issue with hiring GMs through RMS. Most of the time, they don't even know 20% of the servers' features which can leave a really bad impression towards the players.  /ok

Lol you should know most applicants in RMS are people who are after power. They post here just because they bother to forum a bit (maybe too power hungry that they learn how to post?).
