Sonic Blow on pre-trans was never really a thing in it's own right in PvP/WoE. You'll have alot more functionality as a Crit Sin in these environments because of that. Assassins can fill a dual role of support during big rushes from oppositions using Grimtooth with status arrows to keep enemies in the precast longer or CTRL clicking single targets to death with Crit build/drainning their pots. High AGI/STR with 40~60 base luk seems to be typical of builds from way back in the day for assassins.

If he is playing 2-1 Assassin on a non-trans server he won't have dagger throw so he can't use arrows. But you can do a really nice Sonic blow character. But I recommend doing what he said to do and be a crit one. Since 50 crit equals 100 for a sin you can be a nice crit build. But Sonic Blow build is possible. Just focus on STR DEX and I would go more VIT than Agi since you can cloak and hide. You should be able to survive longer. Mantis Cards Hydra and Skele worker are all things nice to have. and if you can get them ring [1] for the mantis cards. Also Poison React is a really nice ability. Hope this was helpful.

mm....Sonic Blow build is possible but not really that great. You have to think of it this way: you are doing 800% damage, but that's getting hit with a reduc for being a skill, in addition to taking a hit from the targets defence and reducs. To top it off you have to wait 2 seconds to use it again.

If you were looking for DPS you would get much more from a crit build, in fact, I'd recommend leaving sonic blow at level 9 and using that extra point for something more useful, like being able to have max cloak, grimtooth, and venom dust. (yes, on most pre-trans servers I've found VD to be more useful than SB...)

Unless your server has stat reset, I've made my classic Sin (2-1) powerful before. High STR and DEX is the key. 1 Hit SB on Hunters / Mages / SN and Assassins, 2-3 hits on Monks, Useless on Knights/Crusaders.
