[Non-Renewal] Question about SD hybird build

I want my sinx to be a little more flexabile besides just doing a million damage with sonic blow.

1) SD question
in the guide I read on RMS the author said that's it's the best build to go hybird which makes sense. If you're mostly sonic blow build then it's smarter to invest some stat points and gears into SD and daggers/blades. Then just say, putting all effort to a stronger sonic blow which would only be like 2-3k really. So why not sacrifice that damage and go SD/daggers as well right?

But what exactly is SD useful for? I can't think of much besides spamming it in strings from range. But why not just go kill someone instead of just waste their pots lol
