Spear or Sword LK

Im having a little argument with some friends of mine. We are mostly LK's, and of different varieties, we play on a high rate server,  2k/2k/75, so mvp cards, and cards in general arent very easy to come by, but easier then flat rate .

Anyways, Im a sword LK. Why? Well for one parry can be very useful, not only in mobbing, but blocking attacks that could deal some serious damage. I do see the bad side to swordies, the skills are pretty limited compared to a spear. I dont worry about agi, since the stats allow me to reach max aspd even without a pot, or two hand quicken, so I can easily hit max aspd with spear as well. But whats troubling me is WoE, LK's can pretty much spam spiral pierce, which is great, its almost 2k spiral pierce, havent seen anything higher than that yet.

Spear LK's, have a shield, an extra slot I guess. I mean there are many useful cards that can go in shield, Alice, Orc Lord. I was luck enough to obtain +5 valk equips, (no helm), which means a 15% reflect of damage, (manteau). + Orc Lord thats 45% back, now thats alot, any champ would think twice before asuraing me. But then again there is no parry, which is what really is stumping me. Id like some opinions on this matter, what do you think is better for pvp? Advantages, disadvantages....of course if I could get my hands on Amon Ra, id go Spear xD.

Personally, I go with spear. I think theres too many downsides to an Agi serker.  For one, the can be dispelled, two cursed, three trapped, four decrease agi'd, five close range damage.

While a spear can go around with spear boomarang, and pierce/bash. While reducing insane damage from the shield. Also you can potion while attacking, always a plus.

It shows that your on a high rate too, 2k Spiral pierce xD.. Most people don't really use spiral pierce, only as a finisher type of move.

I'd go spear, no doubt about it. If you ask me, sword knights are just horribly weak compared to their spear brothers. The thing is, just as Glenn said, there's too many downsides to an Agi knight (Or just 2h vit, same thing in the end). Frenzy's useless due to dispell, and other than that, you don't really have anything good going for you. You're basically a katar sin without the good abilities.

Spear, on the other side, as already mentioned, has a wide array of useful skills, ranging from close combat ownage and mid range domination to long distance spammage. And, most important of all, you have a shield. Shield cards are, if my eyes, the strongest cards out there. Just a simple common one such as Thara Frog adds a total of 30% damage resist, which is a hell of alot of damage removed. From ALL PvP attacks. Since you're on a high rate, MVP cards should be obtainable, such as Golden Thief Bug and Maya.

And uh, Glenn, what horrible Lord Knights have you seen? 2k a hit from a spiral pierce is easily doable on a low rate server.

@Slaw, I meant I've been able to get upto like 3.5k~ on a fully pvp carded guy and upwards of 7k on a not carded guy, and that since the damage was so low, you could tell he's playing high rate.

Spear for leveling and PvP, sword for emperium-breaking.  With high rates, sword is really only good for leveling if you're able to mob-train and use a Baphomet card (which would be pretty nasty in PvP come to think of it, if you charge in on a group of people).  But with Agi you sacrifice the VIT to tank, and conversely with VIT you're vulnerable to Acid Demo.  Specialize around what you prefer to do (or respec if its cheap and get a set of gear for both)  its possible to hybridize and get what skills you need, but hence the term 'jack of all trades, master of none.'  If you're spear, you'll want those really cool stat-effect skills way down the spear line!

Yes its a high rate, but the card drops are only .75, still not easy to come by . I guess most prefer a Spear, and on a side note, a spear lk can hit max aspd on this server, there really isnt an agi, or vit knight, since both are pretty high.

,75% card drops is high. Not even an hour to hunt most cards. And even if you do get tons of vit with both spear and sword, I'd still go for spear, due to the versatility of the skills.

well yes normal cards are easy to get, but I only said that because someone mentioned getting all these mvp cards, which wont take me a couple of hours.

You'd be surprised...how do you think people get MVP cards on low rate servers without hunting an MVP every hour, on the hour @_@

Most of the time, corruption. ;>

Sometimes it's just pure luck though. I've had that happen to me a few times, and I never waste time hunting MVP/Miniboss cards.

If you think about it, its ALWAYS pure luck.  A lot of people think 'well according to the rates, I should get 1 card every X kills, but I've killed twice that many and haven't gotten one yet!  There must be a problem!'  Its a different 'roll of the dice' every time you kill a mob.  Its more LIKELY to happen if you kill a ton, but the probability itself doesn't really change. :O

And you're right about the corruption, but I've actually been around to see a couple of people get MVP cards as drops on low-ish rate servers.

What I've been trying to prove though, is that one ,75% card drops, getting a MVP card shouldn't be a challenge.

Well believe me it is. The only card Ive managed to get is incantation samurai. It stinks that I get items equal to the cards drop rate, thats so annoying >.>

Anyways, I guess Ill make some +10 pikes, and try to get a good shield.
