It's a "feature" in the forum software.  http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=308222.0 says it could be web spider doing their job.  I assume web spider browse many pages in a few sec so it's hard to catch what it is doing ...

unknown action is just, i assume it's action that is not defined by the who is online thing.  Not sure on this.
