How about adding "Dual/Multi Client" whether it is allowed or not on a server?

I've seen a few RO sites that won't even tell whether it is allowed or not.

I'm referring to this one btw:

It wouldn't hurt, but the vast vast majority of servers permit dualing due to whiners.

Only know of one that still doesn't allow it - LimitRO - and they're banned on RMS.

yC

I don't consider that as a an in-game feature really.  That's too technical to include as a search option.

ragnazorg

we do not allow dual clients either.

Gene

Yep that's the problem. I went through Ragna Villa and thought duals clients were allowed but no. I hope I'll see more servers that will immediately tell in their server description at rms if duals are allowed or not, or in their website, if this gets rejected.

xyuki

Well being honest nowadays there's almost no server that doesn't allow dual-clienting. I only saw it really rarely that they do not allow so but if they didn't they have stated so in their rules or wherever.

The more annoying thing is knowing you may dual client or at least you are assuming so and you later on figure out that they have an afk blockage. Moving every fews secs is annoying (if you have to leech yourself that is - otherwise doesn't matter as much).

There are only few servers left who really is strict about the dual client issues as for my server I'll have it use multi clients. xD

Does it null the "multi client not allowed rules" if you just have two computers running one client on each?

Usagimimi

Depends on the server. Some servers will ban you for that just 'cause; others won't, because the rule is there to avoid client manipulation.

Meh.

babyextreme31

Dual clients are hard to detect, although it's not impossible. Imo people dual client all the time and especially in WoE servers where they serve as buffers and whatnots. So, meh.

I allow Dual-Clienting. However, it's not really a bad thing to dual client in a SHR server as it is for MR etc. because leaving another char to vend etc.

Subkakashi0

well it really depends on the server cause if the server has customs or obtainable IRO items like FCP or buff's duel client is not needed  so most of rates like super and high duel client isnt needed as for mid and low they are needed to lvl woe pvp and so on but there is many ways to stop client edits

Sounds like a good idea!

I think including it as a searchable option would be useful. You could just have it as a yes/no type thing, whether it allows multi-clienting or not. It'd then be up to the server to state specifics, like if they only disallow it only with multiple clients on one computer, or like some servers I've seen where its a one person per client kind of thing. It is something that generally has a decent effect on a player's decision to stick with a server or not. Some people I've played with absolutely won't play on servers that don't allow them to be their own buffers, and other friends tend to stick with servers that disallow multi-clienting because they find it correlates with communities that do more together.

Impulse

I think the most important is whether it is allowed during WoE or not. I know a couple servers that don't allow it during WoE, but don't make it as clear as it should be to new players.

Now that when we put more thought into this feature.  It seems it is much more than a Yes|No answer.  I just have to say there is too many variety to give a clear cut for this as an yes|no option for a listing.

There's at least the real and clear allow/disallow, two comp bypass detected/undetected?, woe allow/disallow, client hexing might work too.

Seravy

I definitely want this added. I keep running into servers not allowing it, wasting my time. Far too many servers not allow dual clienting, and it is necessary for normal gameplay if you want to vend(needs separate account), or have characters of different genders (also need separate account), or simply have too many characters for a single account.
Even if there are a lot of in-betweens, a simple Allow/Disallow option would help a lot.
It's not really important how you can or cannot bypass it, if it's not allowed, it's just better not to play there than risking a ban.
Afk timers could use their own entry. Even if you can't dual client, afk timers might be present to prevent leeching someone else for exp, so it is a separate issue.

yC

How do those server handle it if you simply have two comps to "bypass" it or more than one person in the house that plays the server?

Wait, what? Banned? Why & why do I still see Lai posting then? o_O

And LimitRO does allow dual clienting, you can even tripple quad and w/e as long as your comp allows it.
Only LimitRO Metro allows 2 clients, not more than that, unless they changed it again.

I do support the suggestion, some servers jut don't allow it so it'd be nice, but considering the majority does allow it I don't think it's really needed, if there were more servers actually using that system I suppose it'd make more sense.

yC

Not sure what Yusifer mean there, I only "see" Limitless RO and Unlimited RO banned some time in the past.

Strudel

Any details as to why they were banned? :3

yC

Only reason would be terms of services violation.  Are you simply trying to get post counts?

Strudel

Not really, I'm just extremely bored,
I though they did something special since they got "banned" I mean those other servers that gave points or w/e things for getting reviews also had "terms of violation" didn't they? and I don't see them being "banned".
I thought there was a story to read up on or something of the sort

Usagimimi

Ah, Lai told us about a year ago that he was banned for some sort of ToS issue in his first server or something.

Last time I played LimitRO was 1-2 years ago :x and they didn't allow dual-clienting back then. If they do now, then it's changed since I last played there.

I see LimitRO in the Review Section of RMS now. Not sure if he was s*** us or if he was telling the truth, but seems like he's not banished from RMS like he told us.

In that case you should report those servers that give points for review.  Take a screenshot or pm me a url will do.
