Well Kyo-Kusanagi-aka-GuessWho, one correction to your post is I am sure if RO dies NOW some of the RO private servers will continue to run for as long as they can.  You don't have to worry about there will be no server to play.  Just they will need to develop their own new content (some of them are already doing it now) to stand out from the crowd.

I understand Yuzo mean we aren't being as helpful as we can everyday to bring people back to the game or keep people interested, but then if you think about it RMS has been around for more than 10 years if we have to do that everyday we will get very tired.  I am just taking a relaxed approach (saving my limited resource to where it is needed most) and let the community build itself as I said earlier.

Also, thanks everyone for the support and being understanding.

Of course some of the private servers would still be up even if all of the official servers die out. But I talked about RO in general.
If people lose interest of in RO, it will effect both the officials and the pservers. And also RMS all other Ro sites.
Ragnarok Online Player since the very Beta. I'm still in love with the game.

Yeah this forum is dead old.. and the website never make an update..

yC

Does it matter the forum being new or old?  It is a place for discussion and it is at the latest version SMF is currently offering.

The website database is being updated regularly, don't make false claim if you don't know.

Boreas

I think he is more talking about the overall website theme. It's mad old and could indeed need an update. It also could not hurt to SSL the site and forum, after all it offers a registration and login.

Found out he is a trouble maker from AbraRO that is mad about the forum because we revealed some fact and history, well here I am working to take care of the spam and non-sense posts.

Blinzer

ignore what he said, some things don't need changing. you risk going down the path of league where by trying to make something better you just make it a lot worse instead

there's nothing wrong with the theme of the website

Yuzo

bump. can we get a skin update for the site or something to look more modern? surely enough advertising money being earned to justify it. and shiny new colors lets people who come here believe in the site's validity.

yC

Nope, not planning to do any update on the look or layout, content is more important.  A shiny skin is just a shell, a site's validity have nothing to do with how it looks.  Just look at google.com, they surely made enough money to justify any kind of shiny layout but there is none because functionality / usefulness is most important.

Boreas

google.com is fully mobile responsive and uses the latest web technology. Correct me if I am wrong, but RMS doesn't. I agree with the content part tho.

papachan

I agree with the OP, honestly anyone who doesn't see that RMS plays a big part in connecting us with different servers, and with each other really doesn't see the bigger picture here.

Had RMS update its skin, updated its content, hire dedicated staff (you cannot trust someone unless you give them a try. And if they mess up, you didn't have much to lose with anyway), And just keep the forum fresh to keep players. RO isn't a dying game; there are veterans wanting to play again, but when we see this same donkey old website we're like "whats the point."

And while RMS may not die out completely, maybe it does need competition so it can actually look like it cares.

The argument "The forum skin is fine it doesnt need to be changed" is the same kind mentality as "I am scared of change."

Don't be afraid of change yC. RMS has the power to bring back RO as it was back then 4 years ago. And RMS can bring back players. But I digress; I heard there was someone making a project database for RO, similar to RMS. But lets see.

Spoiler
Theres alot of bandwagoners here, its as if, if you're not apart of some clique, you aren't s*** (sh!t in case its blocked)

Google changes its logo every time theres an important event, or whenever they want to dish out the pacman game.

And the old google isn't the same as the new one. So what are you saying. Appearance is key; while yes functionality is great, but if it doesn't look like the creator cares, the client will also not care.

SukiChii

I agree. This site needs refreshing. It's been looking like this since forever and a day, with hardly any updates at all. However,  RO is on life support so...

I'd just like to add that the databases are getting updated on a regular basis thus what I mean by content is more important.  Not sure if you use the site on a regular basis if you think that we could live with no update to content.  Of course we can't have everything on the site as soon as kRO releases them but some stuff such as certain instances that are not in rA / Herc are already on RMS and more content/update are being worked on.

Heck. Even irowiki has done it. Why not rms too?

btw, site layout is good as it is.
